I've posted about my browser game, Void Descent, here a couple of times during development. You guys gave me a really warm reception early on, which kept me motivated to finish this thing.
The 1.0 release is officially live on Itch. 🙌🏻
The biggest update is a full 3D graphics overhaul. Every player ship, enemy, weapon and visual effect has been redesigned for high fidelity 3D. I've kept the original 2D look for mobile or anyone who prefers the retro style.
A completely new scoring mechanic has been introduced as well in the form of real time combat rank. As you play you'll be graded on your positioning and aggression while avoiding damage. The cleaner and more precise you fight, the higher your score is multiplied. But be careful, if you take damage or start playing it too safe your rank will suffer.
I've also tackled the largest issue with the PC experience: widescreen is now fully integrated! Along with that comes complete native controller support (also tested and working on ROG Ally - I don't have access to a steam deck though so please let me know how it works!)
My goal was to offer a game that you can play any time on any device with any hardware and 0 installs, and this current experience is one I'm really proud of.
