Just curious. I ended up with a spot on Saturday for VQ at the company pin store group 4…

Someone offer me $750! For my second spot and it paid for my tickets and hotel. I was shocked. They Zelled me the money and I felt sleezy.

Kinda secretly hoping they didn’t get the value out of it but I’m sure they did. So how did resellers make out? Felt like the whole convention was resellers and influencers

Just over 2 weeks ago we got a new placement (our second placement overall) a 6 yo boy. He does great around my husband but is absolutely terrified of me. (husbands 37m I'm 34f).

We got the call for an emergency placement. Was told he was a sweet kid with some history of physical and sexual abuse but is friendly and well behaved. The social worker also said he has an older sister (16) who got sent to another placement because of "safety" concerns about them being together however didn't elaborate even when asked. We are his first foster family and the goal is eventually placement with out of state family. Awesome, we aren't looking for adoption so this seemed like a good fit.

I feel that the social worker lied out his teeth.

From the time he got out of the car and dropped off, he saw me and just go stone stiff. He won't hardly say a word except scream, shout and yell things at me like "No, Leave me alone, don't touch me, and F you" even if I'm not even close to him. I thought he was just nervous, but here we are 2 weeks later and I've tried talking to him repeatedly. Asking him questions. Giving him space. Just stone silent or an outburst, He seems absolutely petrified of me. If I'm alone in a room with him he has an extreme fight or flight response. He won't let me tuck him in even I tried last week and he scratched me. He's also bitten me twice, kicks me me when I try to help him with his shoes. I've tried reading books for bedtime almost no response besides "No, get away, leave me alone!" I can't get near him, he will run, hit, bite, scratch and just turns into a demon.

He won't sit at the dinner table with me. If I prepare anything he won't eat it if I'm around. One of a few things happen. Either a complete melt down, refuses to come to the table and/or if he does he throws the food/plate or anything infront of him. Or he just sits stone silent staring. He will eat if I leave the room. Bath time is impossible with me. He along with the screaming, shouting, biting the whole 9 yards this ramps up to a 10/10. You would think I was trying to murder him. I'm scared to even take him out in public, especially alone with just me and him.

My husband on the other hand is like his best friend ever. He talks to him, plays games, watches movies. Head outdoors to play sports or with my husbands RC cars. Bed time? A breeze, bath time? No problem. Food? He loves it, they sit there laughing and giggling throughout.. until I enter the room and he freezes instantly stops eating and shuts down. My husband took him shopping and out to eat yesterday. Said they had a great time, found new things to try, not one single curse word or outburst. The kid is well behaved with my husband and calls him "dad" always sits with him. This kid absolutely thrives in his presence I can see it from a far he almost has a glow in his presence. My husband tells me how bright and funny he is.

I have been working with my husband to see if he can slowly try to help bridge this gap, or talk with him as to why he is so afraid of me. Our FS told my husband that girls are evil and I won't go into details here but has (and documented before he was placed with us) scars from his past. When my husband takes him to the park he doesn't seem to freeze around girls his age or other women at the park but also doesn't talk or engage with them. My husband tells FS that his best friends are his family including my self and now our FS. Hes suggesting activities for with the 3 of us and the FS just says no girls. FS attitude is totally different if the 3 of us are together. Hes a lot more quiet and will often only want to wispier into my husbands ear. He have pretty much let my husband take care of FS almost full time (we work from home) and I tend to stay away which we know isn't healthy.

School is starting in 2 weeks. We have him enrolled however all the first grade teachers are female which we are obviously concerned about We have requested a meeting before the first day so we are all on the same page. He starts therapy Tuesday again though with a female therapist.

I'm completely lost at what to do. I want to disrupt and throw in the towel. My husband doesn't. But we are walking two very VERY different paths with him and it's extremely hard for me not to be jealous but I dunno what else to do. I'm frustrated and feel isolated in my own home. I know this isn't my doing and I remind myself constantly that it isn't personal but it feels like it. Our previous foster kid (9-11F when we had her) had struggles but we were able to work together through them. Felt like we were a strong team. That feeling is completely gone now and I'm lost.

TLDR: New foster placement thrives with my husband and is a total demon around me. At a complete loss as to what to do at this point.

I can keep going but I think the picture is pretty clear at this point. Open to any and all suggestions at this point.

Hey everyone.

I’m a new bowler, bowling consistently for about a month and am joining a league with some friends in August, I recently got my first ball. A Storm Ion Max Solid and am really struggling with it. I can’t get it to grip or hook the lanes. With the house balls I can bowl a pretty consistent 145, with the Ion its closer to 120.

I’ve bowled about 10 games on it and it feels all over the place. I know it’s likely me but sometimes it curve strong, other times it just shoots straight, I’ve tried adjusting speed and approach, keeping my hand under the ball but it just does what it wants.

And advice?

I’m new to bowling and still learning picked up the AMF summer pass.

I have two centers near me, both AMF and both are doing open to close Cosmic bowling with projectors at the end of the lanes reflecting off the oil. This makes seeing the lanes nearly impossible until your right on top of them and heaven forbid a bright screen comes up during approach.

The only time it’s not cosmic bowling is when leagues are there and even then it’s only where the league is playing so they have lights up.

I’ve asked at the desk multiple times and always get met with “no”. Even when league players come to practice they are stuck with cosmic bowling.

Anyone got any tips for learning on the cosmic lanes? I try to guestimate where markers are but it’s not easy or consistent.

Question about a recent experience playing Blackjack.

$25 3:2 table was playing this table almost all cruise, it's day 7 and I join a full table in seat 2 with a $50 bet. Cards come out, I get two 7's vs a dealer 10.

Before I could do anything the player at seat 1 busts their hand, then calls for a hit on my hand. Dealer who was dealing at lightning speed pulls a 10 from the shoe busting my hand and went to sweep the cards when I said stop, I didn't signal to hit.

Dealer comes back with, "14 vs my 10 surely you were gonna hit anyway" and tried to play on. I said that's not your or player in seat 1's call. Maybe I wanted to stand or split (knowing sure as heck I wasn't going to but I didn't play my hand). He came back with "you weren't going to do that anyway" and I said he can't assume what I'm going to do it's my hand to play.

I spotted the pit boss walking behind him and waived her over. The dealer looked super annoyed and I explained what happened. She asked him to confirm and he confirmed what I said.

The pit boss discarded the 10 that was delt to me and let me stand on my 14. The dealer this whole time looked beyond annoyed, flipped a 5 for 15 and busted out. I ended up winning the hand. The pit boss who was standing there the whole time as soon as the round ended said hold on one minute and stopped the game. She then grabbed another dealer who was waiting to take over another table and swapped him to our table. Sent the dealer who made the error to the back and I didn't see him the rest of the cruise (10 day cruise). And I played several more hours in the casino the last few days.

I feel guilty that he might have gotten fired for the mistake or because he tried to play on and I called the supervisor. Should I have just let it go? What would you all have done in this situation?

Would women go to six flags great adventure or hurricane harbor in NJ to look for a partner?

Hello CCL fans! Just wanted to share my review from our 10 day Alaska cruise on the Carnival Luminosa out of San Francisco. This was our 13th Carnival cruise and had some interesting experiences and thoughts.

The good:

-The crew is outstanding. Extremely friendly and everything I've come to expect from a Carnival crew. The Current Cruise Director Keegan is really really good.

- It's a unique ship very different from all the other Carnival ships. Being a former Costa ship rebranded to Carnival which makes it more interesting to explore with unique decor.

- A special shoutout to the Playlist performers on this ship. They are a top tier cast. The singers surprised us (in a good way!) and the effects and visuals were spot on. A+ to the Playlist performers on the Luminosa!.

The bad:

Where to start.

- This ship needs some pretty major TLC Shes showing her age and falling apart. Deck 9 lido, much of the wood work trim around the top has fallen off over the years and looks horrible. When the dome is out over the Lido deck many of the windows are broken (they are suppose to latch shut but don't anymore) so they just flap in the wind allowing random bursts of cold air in. If you happen to be at the wrong table or spot you get a frosty surprise. Deck 10, all the window seals are chipping paint and also don't look good.

Cosmetic things, sure but they are noticeable.

- The dining room menu's. Always a staple in the past, and have gotten progressively worse over the years. On our cruise they removed the lobster all together and repeated our first formal dining night's menu for the second night.

- Casino has very poor ventilation. After being open for just a couple of hours it get's pretty hard to breathe in there, including the "non-smoking" areas. You always leave smelling like a chain smoker.

- The ships layout is weird. A pro and a con, there is an entirely un-used bar on deck 9 overlooking the water. It's turned into a smokers area but the old bar from the Costa days is still there. Looks abandoned. On deck 3 there is also an old Costa restaurant that takes up a good chunk of space that's also just abandoned. Again a weird spot that could be repurposed but kinda just left there. The Limelight Lounge is a makeshift, and small room where people line up for the comedy shows overflowing into the elevator landing. It's definitely the worst version of the Limelight Lounge I've experienced. Comic's were great though. Just lots of random unused space on Deck 11 (top deck). Also the famous Carnival light up signs telling you what is which direction are still there... Except they have all the old Costa names on them. So they are just powered off. It's kinda weird but fascinating reminder of the ships history.

- The "bars" and areas you expect to be decent sized are tiny on this ship. Piano 88 is horribly small and out in the open, Cherry on top is blended into the coffee bar and is also tiny for that reason. Alchemy bar in the evening had 0 seats because it was so small.

-Missing Carnival staples. No Waterworks, Guy's Burger, Ping N' Anchor or Blue Iguana. . They have off brands of these, "Off the Grill" and a "Taco and Burrito" place that just aren't as good. They aren't the worst in the world but do leave a lot to be desired. The mini golf course is an absolute joke and off to the side. They basically rolled out some green carpet and put a couple of shapes in a few holes randomly. More like a putting green.

- No Chocolate Extravaganza. Not sure why, but this ship simply didn't do it at all. We looked forward to it.

All in all we gave the ship a 3/10 rating. The lowest of rating of any Carnival ship we have been on, and honestly we enjoyed both the Elation and Paradise more than this ship. I'd recommend this for like a 3-5 day get away, not a 10+ day cruise though, and not if your expecting the classic Carnival amenities.

TLDR: Ship needs some major TLC and has an interesting/weird/undersirable layout. Amazing crew though.

In 2024, I bought a used 2023 Tesla Model 3 SR, It was $22,636 after TTL out the door. 38k miles on her.

Thought I got a really good deal at the time felt good about it. Yesterday I get a call from the dealer I bought it from (not through Tesla) inquiring about the car asking if it was still in great shape, it's current mileage and would I consider bringing it in for an appraisal, they would be willing to consider giving me full price I paid for it towards another vehicle.

Puzzled I said I would think about it, ran my car through Caravan who offered me $22,900 for it...

Ran it through KBB and it's showing a trade-in value now of $23,886 or $24,533 private party...

Did my car really go up in value even after putting 18k miles on it? Anyone else noticing this? I'm guessing it has to due with current fuel prices but a bit shocked.

This happened earlier., I thought it wasn't suppose to follow teleports. Another bug for the dog I guess.

Had a crazy experience today with a passenger.

25 minute ride $12 surge, pick up is a water park. I pick up there frequently not usually a big deal. I drive Uber XL.

Pick up 5 passengers, 2 adults, 3 kids ages 5-10, and bags. I offer to put their bags in the trunk and they deny, hop in and we get on the way. Not even 3 minutes into the ride I see in my mirror one of the kids standing between the two bucket seats. I quickly ask they sit down and put their seat belt on and the mom over rides me and says she got him and hes fine. We pull up to a red light and I turn around to ask again ready to threaten to end the ride and this kid is bare bones naked in the aisle with the mom helping him change.

I was shocked. I've never had that happen. I turned back around and drove half a block to a Walmart parking lot, pull in and say until everyone is fully clothed and seated with seat belts I cannot continue the ride.

Mom goes APE on me. Shouting "Your gonna make us late" "It's always your kind giving us issues" "just "F"ing drive" and I stand firm and tell them they can get out if this is how shes going to act but I am not breaking the law for them.

I had enough, told them I'm cancelling and they can get out and change in the Walmart if they still need to.

Mom changed her tone quickly, apologized finished with that kid and asked for us to continue the ride as she was in a hurry.

Fine, didn't wanna lose out on the best paying fare of the day so against my better judgement we go on. That's where it ends right? NOPE. 10 minutes later, hop on the free way. Hear commotion in the back look in the mirror, and another kid standing between the two seats without clothes changing, now at 70+ MPH heading down the freeway! I shreek sit the F down, take the next exit now in a CVS parking lot and tell them to get out.

Mom turns NASTY again saying shes going to have me kicked off Uber for the way they are being treated, and I'm being racist (wtf we are the same race?) and I need to do my "F"ing job and they are not getting out.

I respond with "Not a problem I will take you directly to the police station and you can tell them all about what your doing at 70+MPH". They (fully clothed at this point thankfully) got out shreeking at me letting me know this was my last Uber ride ever.

The dad (I assume that's who it was anyway) who was sitting there this whole time and never said a single word during the incident and seemed completely unfazed by all of this. I heard what sounded like someone kicking my car, but didn't see it happen right after they got out. So I hopped out and asked them which the mom denied, I didn't see any damage or marks from it. Walked back to the driver side, and the dad walks around the front of the car to my window, I roll it down slightly, he apologizes and said shes crazy and slips me a $20?. I just said it's fine and drove off.

2,500 rides, I have never had anything like this happen.

Ended ride, rated 1 star. sent a message to support about this ride, not sure what else I should have done here. That lady was crazy.

TLDR:

Passenger tried changing her kids standing up in my car at 70+ MPH on the highway. The freaks out and threatens me for asking them to follow the law.
