Instant pay increase

Fortunately, I just use the “Add money” feature in venmo to transfer funds, but wow. And this is following the recent insurance changes too.

I need help- never had this happen before.

Hey everyone,

I am a good driver, never been in any accidents since I started driving in 2011. Always very careful. However, I just checked my mail today after being on vacation and got this notice. I went through all of my mail and I cannot find the first notice I had received at all. Obviously I am panicked, and yes, at the intersection of Fairbanks and 1792, I turned right without stopping fully at the red light.

I totally get that this is my bad. What I am worried about is the Uniform Traffic Citation. I paid my ticket instantly upon seeing this just now, because I know it was my mistake and one I won’t make again. I have never been in trouble with the law EVER, so I am absolutely torn up about not only receiving this, but also the next step.

Because I paid it now…. Do I have a chance that it will be fine? Is there anything I can do? Should I call Winter Park PD tomorrow? I know it sounds stupid but I already feel like some sort of criminal when it was just an empty street late at night, and I missed the sign saying to stop when red.

Edit: I called today and good news, because the ticket was paid yesterday I am good to go.

Trying to fix my MASH, waiting for my medication, in the meantime I am REALLY struggling with my diet and cravings

Hey everyone, 32M, 5”2, 248lbs. Just diagnosed as of July with moderate MASH.

My doctor is going to prescribe me Wegovy, but in the meantime as I fight with insurance I am struggling so severely with trying to eat right. I never ate the worst, but I definitely did not eat like I was trying to protect my liver. It’s been two weeks, and I feel like I am fighting my cravings very badly. I have eaten well on other programs in an attempt to lose weight, but it feels like everything I knew about diet for my condition now is out the window as everything I check seems to be bad for my liver.

My food noise is insane, but I am more worried about the condition of my liver and my health. But I feel like my food cravings are so insanely strong that it is in the forefront of my mind at every moment. I have no idea how to eat right for my liver. If someone could help me out and maybe recommend a book, a program, or anything to curb cravings, that would really help me get through this.

Everything is changing for me, for the better, and I am struggling to cope.

A slightly under ripe banana, some organic natural peanut butter, greek yogurt with a little honey, triscuit and a hard boiled egg.

Also, advice is welcome but encouragement and hell, someone even relating to me is a huge plus too.

And for context, 32 FtM (medically transitioned since I was 22 and I live as stealth in my day to day life. To a point I would have just said M in this post if me being ftm was not relevant).

So the past ten years have been a lot of immense changes for me. I graduated from DBT therapy and have been in complete remission of having Borderline Personality Disorder since 2022. It feels like when I healed that part of me though, paired with the pandemic and my other new physical health issues due to covid, my brain has been struggling. My partner of 8 and a half years has been carrying a lot of the physical burden of our apartment while going through this, and while our relationship is healthy, I am struggling lately so much.

And honestly… I can’t even pinpoint how I got here. I feel so unstructured and inconsistent, even though I have a set schedule at work. My self control and self discipline has been out the window. I got most of my debt under control the past year due to being overzealous with spending, and I’ve made massive changes in my life, but at the same time in the past year, I’ve been diving into multiple new hobbies just to fill something in me that is missing and I don’t know what. It feels like I’m stuck in a cycle of making one thing better, but then I get in another situation of bad habits that just replaces the old habit. This has led to the past few years, with my diet being out of control.

My doctors always kept an eye on my liver, but after some alarming bloodwork I got my fibroscan and ultrasound, and I was diagnosed with moderate MASH, essentially fatty liver disease but worse since fibrosis is now in the picture. This has turned me upside down since my whole life, food has always had a massive nostalgic connection to it. I am half Puerto Rican, so a lot of my most fond memories is cooking with my family in the kitchen and eating all together.

This has put my life now into perspective, leading to me talking to my partner, and him sincerely telling me that he loves me and is supporting me as much as he can, but he is tired from doing everything in our apartment (which he is), and I explained to him that it’s because I am busy. But that’s when it hit me, that I’ve been doing so much frivolous shit, like suddenly being in a band, becoming a concert photographer, trying to get into tattoo art (since I am a more notable local artist in my area). I’ve essentially been trying to fill this void I cannot figure out with staying busy, and it’s left my home life leaning into the dust. And when I’m not busy, I’m focusing on food, grazing constantly, thinking about our next meal, etc etc.

I know I need to go to therapy again to help me build my self discipline and redirect myself, but after the news about my liver and how I have to completely change my diet, it feels like the universe is pushing me to make really uncomfortable changes in all facets of my life. My partner asked me where I want to see myself, and I explained I see myself being fit, healthy and alive and disciplined, that he and I can be active together, and implement a chore routine so he isn’t picking up all the slack in our apartment. He said he would support me getting there, because he wants that balance we had before in our relationship. But I’m also very nervous, because I have to rethink all my habits, down to everything I even put in my mouth.

I know this is kind of an aimless vent, but also there’s been changes in my friend group, the people I surround myself with and growing out of friends who are stuck in their ways, it feels like my life now versus 1 year ago is so vastly different that even though my future even 1 year from now seems very promising, I’m scared of how immense that change will be. I was never taught self discipline until my first go of therapy, and I never had an example of following through anything fully growing up either. I want to change that more than anything. I have no idea how to get there but I know I have to.

Tldr: everything in my life is changing specifically after getting diagnosed with a moderate liver disease and my partner expressing concerns to me about my habits

Hoping to start Wegovy soon. Any recommendations before I start?

Hey everyone! I posted here before regarding my
Insurance coverage for Wegovy. While I wait for the approval, I want to be proactive to make sure my start is as easy as possible.

Should I be eating a certain way?

Is there a cleanse I can do to help with my digestive system or routine I should look into?

And is there anything you wish you were told beforehand before you started?

Thank you!

Very worried- recently diagnosed with MASH. The fatigue is insane, and I’m scared for my health. FMLA is on the table..?

Hey everyone. For context: M, 5”3, 252lbs. Struggled with elevated enzymes the past few years, was suggested to a gastroenterologist and after a fibroid scan, ultrasound and extensive bloodwork, I was diagnosed with MASH last week.

I’m trying not to worry, I have a health coach, and my doctor is trying to help get me on Wegovy, but in the meantime I have been struggling with insane fatigue. My doctor says it is the perfect time to fix things now, but I’ve struggled with my diet for so long. I haven’t been below 200lbs since 2016, and have tried so many weight loss programs but gave up after plateauing for months at 210lbs. I feel defeated, sad, embarrassed about my weight and now being at this point where my liver is in this condition.

I was very hesitant to reach out here because I’m honestly scared for my health for the first time. I have my first meeting with a health coach on Monday, and my doctor doesn’t seem urgent about this but is definitely suggesting I make this a priority focus right now. I guess I’m reaching out because I want to ask a few questions….

- would MASH qualify for FMLA due to the pain and fatigue I am struggling with, and for coping with the side effects of the medication I will be starting?

-has anyone here reversed MASH? What did you do? And honestly, is there any hope right now for me?

I really need the encouragement and help on this…. Thank you

Flying from California to Orlando with a layover, a nightmare

Hey everyone! First post here. I have flown quite a bit with different airlines, and had a couple minor issues with Frontier in the past but nothing that would have deterred me from flying with them ever again..

Until this week.

(Pic is from the flight itself, I felt like I was going delirious for how much I felt like that can of coke personally)

Now, noted: there’s a few things in here that are not exactly the fault of Frontier, but adding and explaining for emphasis because these things occurred concurrently.

Edit: fixed some typos

And ofc TLDR: plane got delayed and what was supposed to be an easy flight from california to florida ended up being a two day ordeal.

I had flown Southwest to Burbank with a layover in Phoenix. No problems, everything was super smooth. On Monday, my flight to leave Burbank was around 7am. Suddenly, delays. There was no plane at our gate for two hours, and after three hours the announcement was made that if we had a connecting flight, we would be missing it and to come up to the counter to change our flight. I was a little bummed, but I am flexible and had family in Burbank so I wasn’t totally screwed. I went up to the counter, and the employee there was kind and empathetic (as fortunately most everyone I interacted with was, it’s not their fault the flight is having issues).

The employee looks through some flights, and finds one taking off in two hours from LAX. Impossible with the traffic of course for me to make it there and fly out, especially with the wait times at LAX. The employee found another flight from Burbank. Long layover but I agreed, and after a few moments he says “oh… it’s oversold”. Understood, I get it. But he checks two more flights that worked for me, only to state it was oversold. So I asked him if there was a flight he could see was not oversold before offering it, and he found a flight leaving Tuesday, June 21st at 6am from LAX to Vegas, and then I’d be home around 4:30pm in Orlando. Excellent. I agreed and spent the day resting, hoping that this was a one time blunder. I had never had anything besides 30-60 minute delays when flying, so I figured it could not go wrong (plot twist, it does).

It is Tuesday, I wake up at 3am, go through LAX security, take the bus to my gate at 235. I make it with 20 minutes to spare. I board the flight and it was actually perfect. I land, it’s my first time in Vegas, so I run around and burn off bad luck by blowing away a $20 bill the fastest I think I have ever spent anything. But I digress….

Our plane is at the gate, it’s the same one I had just flown on. I take my seat at the front, and things are pretty much normal. The flight attendant was doing seat checks, and there was a man in the exit row who had a bad knee. Because of this, the flight attendant asked him to move and he refused. They sent another attendant to talk to him. Then the pilot. Then a third attendant. He was giving them attitude, stating he bought the seat so he is refusing. The attendant explained to him that if he did not move, the police would be called, and the man’s response was “call them, I don’t care”. The attendants were making their moves up front, when the man’s (presumably) wife and daughter walk up trying to figure this out. It gets sorted, and the man moves without any police involvement. Cool. We can move on!

The door closes, and the pilot says he is “working on the numbers as we fuel the plane”. We were stuck in the plane for TWO AND A HALF hours. In the second hour, we were given ice water and a small snack, because the plane temperature was 85 degrees. So the kind attendant that has honestly the patience and kindness under pressure that I could only ever dream of having, advocates for the call to let some people off the plane to sort the connecting flights and also get a break from the heat. A gate attendant comes up minutes later, PISSED. Saying to the attendants “you don’t know how much this complicates things for everyone”. And because people left the plane, the numbers were off and we had to deplane entirely.

So the flight was supposed to leave at 8:15, it is now 11am, and all of us were at the gate seating waiting. I found a pack of people where we were just updating each other. The employee told one of us when we asked that “the first officer was new, and he made a poor judgement call on the amount of fuel needed so we have to burn it off”. Then when asked about refunds and compensation, the employees said they cannot compensate anything because this is the airport’s fault for fueling the plane the way they did (???). Meanwhile, all of us are getting an email for a $10 meal voucher. Which is like, half the price of ANYTHING at LAS. Some folks started getting $50 vouchers towards future flights. But it just continued to snowball.

The employees updated us that the fuel problem was solved, but now it’s too hot outside for us to fly the plane. Then, they said that there were too many people boarding the plane. And THEN, the pilot had to clock out, and the crew. So we had to wait for an entirely new crew (bless them for walking into this mess) to come in and take over, but they would not be there until 5:30pm. At this point, I’m radically accepting the things I cannot change, and I was not going to find another flight as I had work today, Wednesday.

We eventually board the plane and the flight itself was smooth and fine. Landed at 1:07am this morning, with a long drive ahead still and work early as well.

Anyway, the completely random and almost comedic excuses of what was going on was nothing I ever experienced flying. I was going to call today to get a little more flight credit, but honestly it’s not worth it to me as I’m not choosing Frontier again for future flights. Thank you if you read this long ✌️

Doctor recommended Wegovy- Insurance denied it. What do I do next?

Hey everyone!

So… for a little background. 5”3, 250lbs M. Doctor did a full blood panel on me specifically for my liver and other markers. Paired with my ultrasound and fibroscan, I was diagnosed with MASH and Insulin resistance. She told me that this is exactly the case where we see that Wegovy is a good recommendation to help. I was always anxious about a GLP-1 but decided to take the leap since I NEED to make changes, and I’ve never been below 200lbs in my adult life.

My order was submitted to Walgreens, and after reviewal, the coverage was denied. I’m baffled- I need this medication, I absolutely qualify, and I don’t know what to do next from here or how to appeal this. I have Florida Anthem BCBS through my job, and needless to say I feel a little upset about this as this is something I was told and seem to qualify for.

Does anyone have any advice? I don’t know how to move forward and I’ve never been in a situation where I’ve had to appeal this.

Enjoyed seeing the tour so much in Tampa, I traveled across the country to see it again… in Los Angeles! Any other far travelers?

Figured it would be fun since I live in Florida, my sister flew into town to go see them with me at the Mid Florida Credit Amphitheater. Now, I always wanted to see a show/concert on the west coast, so what better way then to see the Evanescence tour again??

I landed in Phoenix earlier during a layover and also saw some Spiritbox/evanescence fans flying in to see the show happening tonight. My sister who lives in California is also a massive Spiritbox fan and went to their event here during the Tsunami Sea release, where they had the free tattoos (she has the sunkiller one!).

But yeah! I thought it would be cool to see where everyone else is coming in from for these shows and how far you’ve traveled to see this current tour :)

Well this sucks.

Was doing orders today, and got hit with this. My other thumbs down was a wrongly reported “didn’t receive order” report. I am the only driver of my car, and I’m the only one that delivers. It sucks when people want to be cheap and harm others without care, now my satisfaction rating is at 88 percent. I go above and beyond with every order, I am fast, I am VERY friendly to all customers and merchants (I actually work leadership in customer service at my main job), but this sucks. Is there any way I can contest this? I took a photo like it asked but I don’t want to lose my account just because someone decided they wanted to be cheap or ruin someone’s day.

I’m really excited to hear what’s next from Senses Fail, though I hope they don’t give Buddy’s vocals the same treatment as the SF/Saves The Day vinyl. What are y’alls thoughts and what do you want to see from the band in their next album?
