The Estate Sale companies around the RGV are garbage

It feels like every Estate Sale company I come across in the Valley is intentionally overpricing the good items just so they can sell it themselves.

I saw a Wii U console this past weekend that they wanted for $160, 50% off final day so $80. That’s more than what they sell for second hand market!

Another one at that same sale was a $20 board game. Like what? These are dollar items you want to sell at retail…

There’s only one company that used to be good “Estate Sales by Jessica” and how they did it was you brought the item and if they didn’t have it priced they would just price it at checkout. That was super reasonable and they’d usually give you fair prices. Now they followed the crowd and 2x the market value on Day 1.

I traded in my iPhone 12 Pro to an iPhone 17 Pro, here is my review after... 2 days

THE GOOD

The battery is a godsend. I legit would have to charge my phone after 3 hours. This thing can last 16 hours without you charging it. I feel that alone is worth the upgrade.

The 120 Hz is noticeable off the jump and you'll feel like you're using someone else's phone for a good 48 hours. I keep just moving for the sake of seeing how smooth everything feels.

The camera is genuinely better. I know the iPhone 12 Pro is known for its camera that is still very useable but it just feels more 4k in my eyes. I love it and the video.

EVERYTHING FEELS FASTER. Notifications, apps loading, everything.

USB-C.... nuff said.

THE BAD

They said it came with a vapor chamber and all that, the first day I had it I could feel it warming the back of my hand by just charging the phone. I don't know if that's just me being dumb and obviously it would warm up but I had to get a case just to avoid that.

I'd say one of the let downs is the glare. People said the glare of the sun would just go away outside (I use this for garage sales and looking up prices) and it's still noticeably there. Even inside the house I get glare from the computer screens. And like I said that could just be obvious and duh but I feel like I was marketed to feel like I wouldn't see glare on my phone again.

Was it worth the trade... I'd say yes only for the battery life. People say you could get a new battery for the iPhone 12 but its time already. This will be the new phone you have for 5+ years. It's time to let the 12 go.

Btw T-Mobile gave me a $500 credit for my 12 which is insane given it's only worth $250 second hand market

Did I say something wrong?

He had a P2S Combo Printer listed for $650. I don’t know the price of these things but when I checked online they go for $700 brand new.

I do a lot of second hand purchasing, usually you can get used items for a pretty hefty discount. Me personally, I’d pay $550 for something like this. I understand these might be desirable and he could get the price he wants for this but I don’t think asking “absolute lowest” is something absurd to ask on Facebook Marketplace or equivalent to lowballing.

So there's no incentive for new players to grind anymore...

Spawners are 5x the value. There is no way for new players to even care to try and become rich because the people who already have spawners will always outbeat them.

The abundance of Spawners and the ease of getting them gave everyone a chance. Now they created an imbalance. Sure you could make whatever farm, but nothing will make easy money like Spawners will. I don't understand the logic behind this update. Why would anyone want to play on this server anymore? Anyone who stocked up on items controls the market. This feels like an update for a server reset.

Also.. no spawn? So if you join the server you have no way of becoming rich but also no way of meeting anyone new. Oh and also anyone you battle you just lose because you can't afford to use crystals...

I am looking to start a Nerf Wars rental business and need your help!

I am looking to understand the best possible Nerf Guns I can get that you know that would help me run my business. I remember playing with Nerf Guns as a kid and my dad always got the small crappy one I never liked and they never had any power. I am looking to not repeat that for the people I plan to offer to.

I am looking for 10 Big Guns, 10 Medium Guns and 10 Small Guns. Along with a set of bullets I hand to the customer.

So my question is, what guns should I get? I plan to go Garage Sailing this summer to look for some as well. Another question is should I get Inflatable Barricades or nah? Any advice would be much appreciated as I know nothing about the space.

How much should I sell this for on Facebook Marketplace?

Specs:
• Intel Core i7-10700 (8-core, 16-thread)
• NVIDIA RTX 2060 6GB
• 16GB HyperX DDR4 RAM
• 512GB SSD
• 500W Cooler Master PSU
• Windows 10 Home

Had to take out the 1TB of HDD cause it stopped working and made the computer mess up. Stopped using it 2 years ago but bought it in 2020 or 2021 I don't remember. Need to sell it.

I like this guy’s 50 state series, but he really needs to visit a difficult area

Everyone sees this guy as a guru or whatever but try going to an area in a state where the minimum wage is 7.25, not 15.00. He’s getting orders that reach sometimes 60. In my area, I have never seen a shopping order that reached even 50 the year I’ve been doing gig work.

Hey everyone. I just started a brand new DoorDash account. I’ve watched a ton of gig app videos on YouTube so I have a basic idea of how it works, but I’d love your take on my situation.

I mainly signed up because of a promo: $400 for 150 deliveries in under 60 days. The catch is that I can't drive myself. My mom and I are teaming up since I can’t drive. She does Walmart Spark, while I ride along and handle the DoorDash orders. (We only plan to do weekends)

My question is about strategy: Since my main goal is just hitting that 150 order mark for the bonus, should I still cherry pick and strictly stick to the "$2 a mile" rule? Or is it smarter in my case to just accept every order to hit Platinum status and keep the volume high?

Appreciate any advice!

I’ve been following this girl on TikTok for a while, and she’s been desperate to go viral forever. Lately, she’s found a strategy that's actually working. She is claiming she has this dark "gooner past" where she supposedly catered to incels.

But it’s completely made up. For starters, her audience is overwhelmingly women, nowhere near an incel crowd. But anytime she gets a random hate comment, she twists it to spin this heroic "overcoming my past" narrative. She keeps spamming videos talking about how she used to post risqué content for male validation, but if you actually look at her history, her "proof" is literally just the same two photos she keeps recycling. That’s it… nothing scandalous or risky at all. She’s just completely fabricating this storyline because it finally gets her the views she wants.

I don’t know why it bothers me so much but every time she pops up on my timeline now it reminds me of my annoyance of her.
