Spain is what it must have felt like watching the 2000 Ravens

Spain gave up a grand total of ONE goal the entirity of the World Cup. That's a world cup record. They gave up ZERO shots on goal during the regular game today vs. Argentina. They completely vaporized France and Argentina's attack which were the two highest scoring offenses in the World Cup so far.

Utter insane defense. Even this past year's Seahawks had trouble with the Rams offense. But no, Spain squeezed the life out of even the best offenses.

Who is the Kylian Mbappe of other sports?

Probably will go down as the most prolific World Cup player ever by the time he retires. And he's one of the best players of the past decade

But his career has been interesting to say the least. He won the World Cup as a teenager in 2018 but wasn't the best player on that team. Think early Kobe.

Club wise he started out on Paris St Germain for 7 years - never once won the Champions League. As soon as he departs for Real Madrid, PSG wins the champions league. And in the 2 years he's been with Real Madrid, they havn't won the Champions League. They havn't even won La Liga despite Mbappe being the top scorer in both years.

And then internationally, France has not won the Euro Cup since he's been active and they lost the 2022 World Cup finals and 2026 World Cup semifinals as the heavy favorite.

In 2000, the Greatest Show on Turf averaged 33.8 PPG. The Ravens allowed 10.3 PPG. One of the greatest what ifs that never happened was if those two squads met in the Super Bowl.

Burrow is not overrated. In 2021, he led the league in completion % and Y/A while he went to the Super Bowl and beat Mahomes en route. In 2022, he was a top 3 statistical QB and B2B AFC title game appearances. In 2024, he threw 43 TD to 9 INT leading the league in passing yards.

Mindboggling that what is considered the greatest QB class ever in 1983 had zero rings through 1996

Elway got his teeth kicked in 3 times in the 80s and then choked as the AFC favorite in 1996.

Marino was statistically unreal in the 80s, made it to the Super Bowl once, and never returned.

Kelly lost 4 straight times in the early 90s.

One of the best parts of the World Cup is that it's filling time and helping the offseason go by faster until the season starts

By the time the world cup ends the nfl kickoff will be like 50 days away

Has Ohtani ascended to Messi/Tiger/Jordan/Gretzky level dominance in his sport? He's going to win his 5th MVP in the last 6 years and going for a World Series 3 peat

He is for sure the most dominant athlete across any sport in the 2020s.

And the only reason why he isn't going for a 6th straight MVP is because Aaron Judge set the single season non-steroid HR record.

How in the world did 2017 Villanova lose to Wisconsin in the R32?

Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, and Josh Hart in the starting lineup. That's 3 starters on the same NBA Finals team. Not to mention Kris Jenkins in the starting lineup as well, Eric Paschall and Donte Divencenzo off the bench.

Even Gonzaga and UNC of that year doesn't hold a candle to that roster
