What were movies where you first watched the sequel?

For me it was Despicable Me 2, however that worked. When I was younger, I always thought Despicable Me was a prequel to the second part because of that.

Just figured I could ask around here to see what experiences other people have with this. Would be interesting to hear some batshit insane stuff like someone having watched Dune Part 2 before Part 1 or something lol

Vibe Casters are pissing me off

What happened to pondering the orb? What happened to researching in the Library of Babel?

Young Casters these days are just doing Vibe Casting. All they do is going to the Wise Toad and asking it to "generate them a new scroll". The amount of posts of people blowing themselves up or accidentally moving on the 4th dimension are insane. Not to mention that the art of wizardry is completely destroyed with this. Skillful wizards were so cool back when I was in my 100s, you really had people to look up to. Nowadays all of the popular mages are guys in their 70s or 80s that just wanna be the next Gelchamon The Deceiver.

"Ah, look at this cool spell I made!" and "Omg I just conjured this object what do you think of it??" are so annoying. No, the Wise Toad made the spell. The Wise Toad conjured the object. You didn't do shit.

Imagine you were a peasant and you want to enlargen your hens. So you to to the nearest wizard tower and ask the local mage to make your hens bigger. Would you also post an image of your big hen and say "Omg look how big I made my hen! I'm so skillful!"
No you wouldn't. And you would probably get hit by a lightning bolt if you did that.

Not to mention the insane amounts of water the Wise Toad has to consume to even do these things. So many ponds were drained just because it moved there. But that's another topic.

Sometimes I think of traveling back in time to the 1700s where things were better. I just reeeally don't wanna cross my young self, I hate how I acted back then.

Idk maybe I just don't get it but it's, for me, way worse than the 3DS game.

After 8 hours of gameplay I can confidently say that I've seen everything the game has to offer.

Every single joke is based on your creations and slang, which means that every joke is basically pulling from a list of templates. At some point, it's just not funny anymore to see a character reference something that you typed. The game always reminds me of the computer saying it's alive meme, where someone tells the computer to say "I'm alive", which it does, to which the user responds in shock.

It's always "Hey, what do you think of (object)?" "Oh I like (object)" / "Oh I dislike (object)" with a funny quip added.

Or creating objects and giving them to characters. It's just the same joke over and over again; that a character from a popular franchise either likes or dislikes something they would normally dislike or like in universe. How shocking!

It has the same energy to me as these affinity tester websites or the hunger games simulators. Input a few names and it spits out a funny random text. Just that it costs a lot of money.

Also, there is no goal at all for me in this game. You just keep creating scenarios that, after a while, are highly predictable and, as long as you don't spend 70% of the game drawing objects or typing slang, are often the exact same joke.

In the 3DS game, you had a goal of gathering enough money to send a mii to space. You wanted a mii to get married so that they could have their own house. You wanted to get two miis to interact so that they can form a relationship - and then it was even funnier when the miis didn't get along after trying for ages.

In the switch game, all vacations are gained by level ups. It isn't "get enough money by managing expenses and maximising gain" but "play the game and do literally anything until you reach the highest vacation thing". The game is just so shallow!

Then, when a mii gets married in living the dream, the changes just aren't that big. The miis already have individual homes and can move in together way before they get married. It just isn't that special anymore. Yes they can have kids, but you skip their entire growing phase which doesn't add any gameplay value to your miis getting children.

You can force interactions too, which removes all the randomness. If only the miis had a higher change of not liking each other, but in my 12 hours of gameplay there was one single fight! And it didn't have an aftermath either, it got resolved the other day and all of the miis forgot about it!

Then the custom objects. Yes, they are fun, but have no unique interactions (obviously). It's just a PNG of a funny thing and sometimes the miis talk about it. In the 3ds game every object you gave to your miis felt valuable as it provided a brand new activity for them to do, such as skateboarding. In living the dream, miis just sit around and stare at a PNG. The only thing that changes is who stares at what.

The unique locations got removed too. Miis basically have a few objects on the island to interact with but the majority of the island is either a hang out place, a chill place or a shout at the see place. More than those three places don't exist.

Also, your miis are always readily available for you. When they sleep, you can wake them up. In my game, they never got depressed and refused to do things either. From a gameplay perspective, players don't have to care about what their miis are doing or what they want to do as they can just ignore it and make their miis do what THEY want.

And worst of all in my eyes, Miis don't go to work! It was such a cool detail and now Miis are just always on the island, ready for you to pick them up and to do whatever with them. Yes, they display in the store but they never ACTUALLY go there.

Idk but this game is just way worse than part one. The removal of the concert hall too is very disappointing. The entire gameplay is just "draw funny thing, see mii reaction, type funny word, mii says funny word, repeat". The fact that the custom objects are so cheep too means that you have no reason to save up for anything too. It's all 5 bucks so why get money? I think if custom objects were a level up bonus the game would already be SO much better as you would actually have an insensitive to level up your miis.

But yeah, this is not a game for me lol. Sorry about the rant. Anyone else with the same opinion?

This is Super Mario Odyssey Safari.

I used to play this a LOT 6 years ago but just recently found it again. When I took a look at the page, I couldn't help but notice that no one really seemed to play or know the game anymore, which I found pretty sad as it is an extremely well made Mario Odyssey spinoff, with tons and tons of interesting mechanics!

Anyways, I just wanted to give this game a shoutout. It would be awesome seeing it grow popular again. https://www.mfgg.net/?act=resdb&param=02&c=2&id=37616

Remember that absolutely bonkers save file theory? Sorry for you.

Anyways, this random twitter user with a huge ass following just posted the image I made without any context or attribution. Yeah, I don't think it's all that deep (it's just a stupid theory after all) but I still think it matters.

I think it's really scummy for people to just steal stuff, no matter what it is. And given how many followers this person has I just wanted to bring this to attention as I don't think someone like this should be supported (although doing that or not is obviously your choice.)

Don't want y'all to go on a witch hunt or anything now, I have also sent them a DM so maybe things can be resolved in a normal and friendly way! I would just like to have SOME comment by them on this so yeah, would be great if you could spread the word.

Thanks to u/Live-Resolution-8846 for sending me this screenshot!

(Random side note; holy shit this post got SO much reach it's insane XD Time to search the UNDERTALE far and wild for more analogies)

So hear me out.

In DELTARUNE, the player may chose to act in a multitude of ways. However, they can only do so three times before being hindered by the save file count. The three major save files a player can create are:

  • The 100% Route where they recruit everyone, get the eggs and the shadow crystals
  • The Weird Route where they... do the Weird Route. Duh.
  • The "Normal" Route where they don't chose either of the other routes

Now, this is an INSANELY far fetch but get this:

The 100% Route is done by people who are brave. People who want to defeat the various secret bosses, people who aren't scared of what getting the shadow crystals and eggs might entail.
The Weird Route is done by foolish people. People who haven't learnt anything from UNDERTALE and who don't understand what they are doing.

But both routes are done by people who are fearless. People who aren't scared of challenges, people who aren't put off by seeing characters they've grown to like get tormented. People who aren't scared of diverging from the given path.

Every other route is done by people who aren't fearless. People who don't want to decide before knowing the ending. People who suddenly dislike the Weird Route and abort it.

My theory is that each of the routes is assigned one of the save slots. The 100% Route is the top save file, the Weird Route the bottom one. Every other route is the middle save file.

Now, what does this mean?
Genuinely: I have no fucking idea I don't know where I am going with this and this might as well not have any sort of connection. But it does look interesting.
