Blood Work Analysis: Low Folate, High B6 & Homocysteine (11) – Histamine intolerance, Allergy & Slow COMT. What would you do?

hi everyone,

I just received my latest blood work results and want to properly adjust my supplement protocol. For context: I suffer from PSSD (currently taking Fluoxetine), severe inner restlessness/impulsivity (suspected Slow COMT), and histamine/allergy symptoms.

My Blood Work:

  • Homocysteine: 11 µmol/l (Ref: < 12)
  • Folate: 4.6 ng/ml (Ref: 4.5 - 32.2)
  • Vitamin B6: 40.8 µg/l [Elevated] (Ref: 8.6 - 27.2)
  • Holo-Transcobalamin (B12): 93.0 pmol/l (Ref: 37.5 - 188.0)
  • Whole Blood Copper: 0.90 mg/l (Ref: 0.76 - 1.01)
  • Diamine Oxidase (DAO): 12.60 u/ml (Ref: > 10.00)

Observations:

  • Folate is scraping the bottom of the range, which likely explains why Homocysteine is elevated at 11 for optimal cellular methylation (target 6-7).
  • B6 is high in blood, likely indicating a conversion/processing bottleneck (B2 deficiency?).
  • DAO in the gut is normal, so I suspect my histamine issues stem from cellular clearance (HNMT/SAMe deficiency).

My Questions for you:

  1. What protocol/approach would you recommend for this pattern?
  2. What folate and B12 forms work best for Slow COMT to lower homocysteine without triggering overstimulation or adrenaline surges? Is Folinic Acid (Calcium Folinate) + Hydroxocobalamin the right choice here?
  3. Does anyone have experience with a B6 backlog/accumulation and supplementing Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)?

Thanks for your help and input!

How to test Undermethylation

Hi, my assumption is that I am undermethylated

I have histamine intolerance, after trazodone it got really bad. And a lot of impulsivity

How can i test for this?

I will test DAO and Homocystein

is this enough to be sure?

Vagus Nerve stimulation increases Noradrenaline

I've recently started stimulating my vagus nerve via the tragus on my ear using a TENS device. However, after using it three times, I've noticed that I'm getting more nervous. Initially, while using it, it's a bit relaxing, but especially afterwards, I feel a bit more nervous, tense, and wired.

I then did some research and found that it's well-documented that vagus nerve stimulation increases norepinephrine. Sure, that's supposed to help with depression and mood disorders, but I'm very, very sensitive to norepinephrine, and adrenaline in general. I react very strongly to it.

I really noticed that I was significantly more nervous after using it, and I only looked into it after I started getting the symptoms. So it's probably not a placebo. Um, has anyone else had this experience? I definitely won't be using it anymore.

edit: i read things about it now, 20hz increases noradrenaline, 2hz not. will try with 2hz

I think some people do not realize how serious porn addiction is

It has been a long time since I watched my last porn video. However, I started very early, actually around the age of eight, with HD porn daily. I then masturbated to it daily until I was 20. Then I came across this great community, started quitting, got extreme energy, trembled, relapsed, but why am I making this post? I just want to make it clear how immensely strong this addiction is with an example from my life.

After I had quit, about one to one and a half years later, I relapsed. And this relapse, how should I put it, was intense in its intensity. The best way to describe it is this: I have also consumed coke, even at 18 or 19, and I still remember my high from coke very clearly. Sure, that is a very strong drug, it attacks the reward center very severely. My high was significantly lower than the high I had during my relapse when I watched porn again. I was trembling, I got extreme feelings of happiness, I was in a trance, and that shows how strong this power is.

Sure, I don't want to downplay coke addiction here; ultimately, you destroy yourself more with a coke addiction than with a porn addiction, at least physically. Psychologically is a different topic, but the fact that this addiction, this porn addiction, this sex addiction can be so intense—actually the most intense addiction, and it makes sense, it contains the most intense energy, sexual energy, and one of our most intense motivations, reproduction—that we can achieve this with the click of a mouse just shows how immensely dangerous and sick this addiction is, how strong it is, and how important it is to stay away from it.

I hope I can motivate others with this to tackle it and not relapse, but to pull through. Eventually, I would say after 2, 3, 4 years, this addiction is in the past, and sure, you have urges here and there, but significantly fewer. You just have to remember, even if you haven't consumed anything for 10 years, never, never, never consume again, because, especially if it's like in my case—I started very early, consumed for a very long time—this addiction is still deep in the brain. Sure, it keeps getting weaker, but it can be reactivated. That means never watch a porn video even just out of curiosity. Absolutely not, so that it doesn't get reactivated.

No one warned me about this... GF and NoFap

No one warned me about this. I practiced NoFap for a very long time. And inevitably Semen Retention through that, sometimes for 30 days, sometimes for 60 days, for two weeks. Whenever I had sex, obviously no Semen Retention, but my baseline was basically ejaculating or having wet dreams monthly or every two months or something like that. This meant I had this immense energy. Sure, in the beginning it was very, very strong, especially at a young age. Now, at an older age, it's less. But I built myself up with this energy. It did a lot for me. A lot of life energy, a lot of self-confidence, and above all, this drive, this hunger.

But no one, no one warned me that you get used to it. And as soon as you have a girlfriend, like I do now, with whom you have sex two, three, four, sometimes five or six times a week. Sure, that's still NoFap, it's healthy, but the energy, the drive, it's gone. Sure, you shouldn't build your self-confidence solely on that, and I haven't done that either. So fundamentally I'm still confident and feel good, but this life drive, this life energy, I'm completely missing it. I am no longer hungry. I am rather balanced, but like a zombie. And that's just the prolactin, I mean, you guys know about this.

And what I simply want to say is that NoFap is maybe only half the truth, and Semen Retention is actually worth significantly more. Ultimately, why do we have reproduction, why do we have sex? Sure, nowadays for many it's primarily for pleasure, but the purpose is to create life. And in the past there was no contraception, so you wouldn't do it every day. You would have sex every now and then and then you just have children, and then you retain this energy and don't just have endless sex and sex and sex again. I strongly suspect our mind, our brain, our body is designed so that we only have sex to have children and then use this energy as life energy.

And you just have to weigh that up. Do you want a lot of sex and thereby short-term, highly intense orgasms, or do you want to get these highly intense orgasms gradually, very, very slowly in everyday life? Meaning, this energy, this happiness is released very slowly over months and not wasted, and you can use the energy. For my part, I'm just trying to find a middle ground now, which means maybe having sex once a week or once every two weeks. On the one hand, this makes it more intense; on the other hand, my energy can be used much better in the meantime, and I feel it too. But I notice that even this paralyzes me a bit, and optimally it would maybe be once a month, which would be a bit crazy though. And oh yeah, remember, if you decide to go through with this, still satisfy your girlfriend so that the bond doesn't break, because that's very important for oxytocin and bonding, but of course you don't have to cum then.

PSSD triggered by Trazodone while still on Prozac (which never caused issues). Any experiences?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some insights or similar experiences regarding my situation.

I have been taking Prozac (Fluoxetine) for 5 years. For the first 3 years, I never had any PSSD or sexual symptoms. Everything was completely fine.

2 years ago, I was additionally prescribed Trazodone and took it for 3 months. My PSSD symptoms started *immediately* during the Trazodone intake.

I stopped Trazodone 2 years ago, but the PSSD stuck around. I am still taking Prozac today. I do get occasional windows where things improve slightly, but the dysfunction is still very much there. Since I tolerated Prozac perfectly fine for years without a single issue, my question is: Is it possible that my system will ever recover or adapt back to its "safe" Prozac-only state, since Trazodone caused the damage? Has anyone here developed PSSD from adding a secondary medication while staying on their original one, and did it ever get better after dropping the trigger drug? Appreciate any thoughts or experiences you can share. Thanks!

Thid one probiotica can increase expression of 5ht1a

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39962033/

Did snyome try this?

Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG

LGG treatment was effective in reducing depressive-like behaviors, increased BDNF level, 5-HT1A, DRD1, ADRA-2A, GABA-A α1, CNR1 expression levels in the hippocampus and NOD1 receptor expression level in the small intestine (p < 0.05), and also decreased neurodegeneration level, glial cell activity, and intestinal permeability in depressed rats. As a result, it was revealed in this study for the first time that the LGG probiotic bacterium has antidepressant properties and was found to be more effective than the antidepressant drugs bupropion and venlafaxine.

Aftee H. pylori treatment still "minimal" gastritis with heavy smyptoms

Diagnosed with H. pylori about 8 months ago, did antibiotics 5 months ago. Endoscopy confirmed the infection is gone, but the gastritis symptoms are still ruining me. The weird part? The biopsy showed only "minimal/mild chronic gastritis," but my symptoms feel way more severe than that. **Main issues right now:** * Insane burping/belching immediately after eating. * Food feels like it’s just sitting in my stomach for hours (slow motility?). * Major acidity/reflux – I’m chugging water constantly just to dilute the acid. **Current stack/routine:** * PPIs and Sucralfate (Sucralan). * Strict bland diet for the last 10 days. * Drinking cabbage juice daily. * Just started artichoke supplements to see if it helps with digestion. So far, nothing is working. Has anyone dealt with this "mild" diagnosis but severe symptoms post-HP? Is this functional dyspepsia or something else? Any advice or similar experiences would be huge.

Is the mother flame. The one piece is the real sun and roger + crew laughed because they realized that the whole daylight is fake The one piece sounds small "one piece", but is in fact the huge sun which will get light again after the morning dawn after imu dies

the sungod will bring liberation and finally the people will live in the realworld with the real light that shines the world.

... I know it is a "theory" without much facts, but is just find it cool
