Hair colorist recommendations
Looking for someone in the Des Moines area that maybe specializes is red coloring? Not natural red but more like a cranberry red. I’ve gone a few places and just haven’t found the right person yet.
Krispy Kreme West Des Moines, IA
Fantastic box today from Krispy Kreme for $6! $18 value as well!
Paraiso de la Bonita
So haven’t seen an in depth review really here so wanted to do one. Winding up my 5 nights here. The food has been fantastic and so has the service. Everyone is super nice here. Room is nice and clean and they do have evening turn down service. There is a mini bar with snacks in the room but it is just non alcoholic drinks and there is no liquor provided in the room. The resort overall is quiet - no foam parties for example lol.
The resort is maybe 1/3 full so never an issue getting a chair at the pool.
I did have a massage at the spa and it was fantastic - I also did very much pay resort prices lol.
It is very much off season and I paid very much h an offseason price. For what I paid, I found it a good deal. The beach is very much full of sargassum- it’s the location and time of year.
Now things that didn’t go so well or that I feel could be improved - nothing life changing but for a “luxury collection” property it’s a miss. The bar…. It’s very poorly stocked. When I asked about daiquiris I basically had an option of strawberry or passion fruit - and maybe mango. They didn’t have any what I would consider top shelf liquor - the prosecco that they serve with dinner is a $5 bottle brand. It’s also not really prosecco but a Spanish Cava.
When I got here it was later on Sunday - 6pm - no tour, bell hop had left, guest services had left. Reception had to take me to my room - which they didn’t know where it was. I found out today that there are activities that they offered during the week….
The balcony I have just has a table and two uncomfortable chairs - though all the pictures of the rooms online show other furniture that you can stretch out on, which I did not have. There is also no real place to hang wet clothes inside.
You have to sign into the internet every day - it’s just a pain lol.
I asked about some ice cream once - all they had was coconut.
There are only two restaurants for dinner that are included. I do wish that they had a nightly special - something other than what was offered on the menu, though again I never had a bad meal.
There is a piano bar but appears they only have someone in there playing one night a week. This may be different during high season.
I was concerned as this is considered as part of Royalton brand - though they do not promote that as they likely know that Royalton has a bad association for poor food and poor service.
While the rooms are nice, the outside of the buildings have seen better days. I know it’s difficult to keep these things up so close to the ocean though as they just take a beating.
Would I pay almost $700 a night for this room during high season for two people - 100% no. This is not worth that or even close to that. If the bar was better and if they had some better activities, maybe.

So I am wanting to change my flight to this new one as it gets me home significantly sooner. My current flight is refundable as a travel credit. When i read the fare details for the main cabin refundable, it shows as refundable to original form of payment. Does this mean that it would be fully refundable vs a travel credit? The top main cabin one fare details says refundable to voucher for reference.
Just accidentally booked another solo 4 night cruise for $250 :). Whoops lol
Chicken shop at the main pool opened today. Unfortunately it’s all spicy but one sandwich that is full of onions, pickles and sauces (I sometimes have the palate of a toddler lol). Husband had the tenders and said they were okay. The “steak” fries are thin and semi soggy - not very crispy. It was the first day so maybe things will change!
