Proxima - planner with a built-in mood journal

App Name: Proxima - Tasks & Mood Journal

Link • Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yoad.proxima

One-line description: A calm daily planner that keeps your tasks, your calendar and an end-of-day mood journal in one place.

What it does / key features:

• Type a task the way you'd say it - "call mom tomorrow" - and the due date sets itself

• Exact-time reminders that arrive even with the app closed; mark Done or Snooze straight from the notification

• A "Next up" card, a home-screen widget, and a one-tap "move overdue to today"

• A month calendar with priority dots: tap a day to see its tasks, mood and journal together, or long-press and drag a task to reschedule it

• An end-of-day mood journal you leaf through page by page, with prompts that follow how you felt

• Six accent colors, or take your colors from your wallpaper (Android 12+); light, dark or follow the phone

• Tasks keep working offline. UI text in English, Spanish, French, Hebrew and Arabic

Who it's for: People who plan in the morning and reflect at night, and would rather not run a to-do app and a journal app side by side.

Cost:

• Pricing model: Free

• Prices and billing period: Free - no subscriptions, no in-app purchases

• Ads: one banner in the side menu only, nothing mid-task

• Current promotions / giveaways: none

Feedback goals:

• Is the first five minutes clear for someone who has never seen it?

• Do the reminders arrive on time on your phone? Please mention the model - Android makers handle exact alarms very differently.

• Does tasks plus journal in one app feel natural, or like two half-apps?

Additional notes: Android 7.0+. Built solo. Permissions: notifications and exact alarms for the reminders, plus optional calendar access only if you turn on export to your phone's calendar.

Shipped my first app. Most of my debugging time went to bugs that didn't exist

Shipped my first app last week. Free Android to-do list with a journal and mood

tracker in it. Looking back, the stuff that actually cost me time wasn't code.

Spent way too long chasing a red bar that showed up over my menu. Tried

everything. It was an OS dev overlay for refresh rate. Not my bug. Never was.

Then an afternoon convinced a fix had regressed on my test device. The bug was

back, I could see it. Play Store had quietly auto-updated my sideloaded test

build back to the store version behind my back. I was testing week-old code and

yelling at myself about it.

And I spent a full week sure my UI was too heavy for the framerate I wanted.

Profiled it properly and the thing I'd been optimizing was fine the whole time.

It was two boring components underneath doing the damage.

Best part: my first signups after launch were gibberish Gmail accounts making

tasks named "appreview@proxima.app". Got briefly excited that people were using

it. It was Google's review bots.

Anyway it's live and free. Would like people to try and break it. More interested

in what feels off than what crashes.

I made Proxima – a task manager with a built-in journal & mood tracker (Android)

hi!!

Solo dev here — I just launched Proxima on the Play Store. It's a productivity app that combines task management with journaling + mood tracking, so my planning and my daily reflection live in one place instead of two separate apps.

Highlights:

- Tasks & folders with statuses (To-do / In Progress / Done), due dates, priorities

- Journal with mood tracking for daily reflection

- Task-linked reminders

- Light & dark mode, 5 languages (with RTL), and it works offline

Free!!!

Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yoad.proxima

Would love to hear what you think!
