FYI to anyone looking into Bleak Faith: Forsaken and thinking it's going to be good.

most important tip with this game:

use the second item top button (Y on Xbox style controllers and Triangle on Playstation) to see what your current objective is. It's the only way to really see "where" to go next.

The game shows you one tutorial on it and that's about it.... Otherwise you will be wandering a lot.

It's good for the following:

mood
music
somewhat interesting world building

bad, important stuff that gets glazed over when people praise it:

  1. combat is ass
  2. build variety is ass and you can't respec anything (this isn't glazed over, but I want to mention it anyway). You're stuck to basically one type of build.
  3. level/design exploration is not good. A lot of it is mostly empty zones that look cool but there's mostly very little to explore. Some areas you finish and think, is there more? there probably isn't.
  4. there's like 6 total enemies. Maybe I'm being hyperbolic but I remember one are where I was just fighting one type of enemy up to the boss to the second Recalibration, some samurai looking thing.

For me, the bad stuff far outweighed the good. I liked it for a bit, then the cracks started to show and I just used Wand/WeMod to rush through it just to beat it. There are some good bones to this game but ultimately the combat and level design aren't good enough to be blind to all the issues. I see why people like parts of it, but as a whole it's just not good.

Edit: added a 4

Untethered Sky - Fonda Lee from signed page with black stripe dust jacket

For $8 off on something I find minor, it's a decent price.

NOTE: The print run I received of Untethered Sky has a mis-printed dust jacket, featuring a black band that runs the top of the entire dust jacket. It kind of looks cool but thought I'd better share this possible issue.

Can't see the game has been updated at all since release and can't play it at all.

Steam Cloud??

Does this game really not have Steam Cloud support? Page says it doesn't and I'd like verification... Seems like a super simple thing to do if you're already selling skins as DLC in an Early Access game.

How bug free is it?

Plan on buying it on the next sale, but noticed it hasn't been updated in awhile... There's another Early Access Extraction Shooter >!Sulfur !<I play but I dropped it for the time being, every update seems to add more bugs that need to be fixed... What's it like here? Any major bugs?

Daikatana

It's on sale for LESS than a dollar. I've never played it. Is it really as bad as advertised? most reviews say to use a mod to remove a NPC + a save anywhere mod. For $1, is the curiosity worth it?

The LG and RG buttons on the new controller.

So, new buttons, cool, right? But uh, so far in my limited use of it, using these buttons so far hasn't been useful. I pretty much always hold the controller in a manner where I'm always touching them so where is the use-case? Double tap input? If you use those back buttons in any capacity, your hands should pretty much always be touching the LG + RG buttons. Anyone use these buttons yet in combination with the back buttons?

Looking for a Sci fi book that's the opposite of PHM. No Marvel/Disney style over use of quippy writing. No Macguffins. No simple prose. No deus ex machina. Got anything that's a real hard Sci fi book?
