2 years of iteration comparing the same location from our underwater horror game.

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share a small before/after comparison from our game, Magnavis.

This video compares the exact same location from about two years ago with how it looks today. It's interesting to look back and realize that there wasn't one huge change instead, it was hundreds of small improvements over time.

During development we continuously reworked:

  • Lighting
  • Environment art
  • Materials
  • Character models
  • Visual effects
  • Overall atmosphere

Looking back at old builds is always a great reminder that consistent iteration makes a huge difference.

I'd love to know:

What's the biggest visual improvement you noticed first?

Designing in-world submarine posters for our PS2-style co-op horror game.

Instead of using normal tutorial popups, we started designing physical posters and warning signs that explain mechanics through the game world itself.

Things like:

  • repairing hull leaks
  • emergency power protocols
  • oxygen warnings
  • reactor procedures
  • creature safety notices

We wanted the submarine to feel like an actual workplace that existed before the player arrived.

Trying to push that old PS2-era environmental storytelling vibe where the world itself teaches the player.

Posting some of the current posters from the game.

They’re currently implemented in the game, so if you’d like to try the demo and give feedback, we’d really appreciate it. And if you enjoy the atmosphere and style, wishlisting the game would help us a lot.

Demo şu an Steam’de yayında.
Bakmak isteyen olursa

Görüşlerinizi gerçekten merak ediyoruz.

Looking for playtesters for our co-op submarine horror game with PS2-style visuals

[Feedback Request] Looking for playtesters for our co-op submarine horror game with PS2-style visuals

We’re developing Magnavis, a 1–4 player co-op submarine horror game.

The core idea is teamwork under pressure:
managing the submarine, repairing systems, solving two-player repair puzzles, handling leaks, navigating dangerous underwater caves, and surviving whatever is waiting outside.

The captain can’t fully see where they’re going, so one player often has to guide them through the periscope or scanner while the rest of the crew handles repairs, oxygen, enemies, and emergencies.

We’ve been focusing a lot on making cooperation feel necessary—not just multiplayer, but true co-op gameplay.

The demo is now live on Steam and we’d really love honest feedback, especially about:

  • game feel
  • clarity of roles
  • communication flow
  • tension vs fun balance
  • whether the co-op mechanics feel meaningful

Any feedback is hugely appreciated.

Coop Submarine Managment Game is Out NOW

We built Magnavis around one core idea:

co-op should not feel optional.

This is a 1 – 4 player submarine horror game where almost every system is designed around teamwork, communication, and coordination.

Repair puzzles require two players:
one player sees the machine, the other reads the solution manual and guides them through it.

The captain controls the submarine, but visibility is limited.
To navigate safely, someone has to watch through the periscope and give directions over voice chat.

Even combat depends on coordination.
Calling enemy positions, managing panic, repairing leaks during attacks—survival depends on your crew, not just your aim.

We didn’t want “multiplayer with friends.”
We wanted a game where cooperation is the gameplay itself.

Would love to hear if this is the kind of co-op experience you look for and What do we add more.

Demo is live here:
