Just finished Safe Harbor...

>!Omg that title was a lie. I am crying with Emily and Siobhan. I am literally not ok. Jet has been one of my favorite characters of any character from the seasons I've seen so far. I'm heartbroken. And it caught me so so off guard. I was so ready for a role playing episode with, certainly not no danger, but less danger. Definitely not her dying. I'm going to need a minute to recover from this😭😭😭!<

>!I'm so scared to continue but I'm also so hooked ughhhh I'm going to miss her so much!<

Slightly terrified for a crown of candy

I'm about halfway through episode 3 and am loving it so far! I love the high fantasy and game of throne politics. But based off the episodes and the adventuring parties, I am so scared for the rest of this season. I'm already becoming attached to the PCs and will be crushed if anything happens to them. However I feel like it would be silly to expect them all to survive.

I feel like I'd be alright if Liam or Lou's character died. I really like them but would be able to move on. I'd be upset if Zac's character died. It feels like something different and has been really entertaining so far. For murph, I feel like I'd be more upset for murph than anything lol I just feel like he really enjoys playing a good soldier/guardian type character who gets to lead the princesses in a high fantasy world. Now if anyone touches Jet and Ruby, I don't think I'll ever recover. I love their chaos and their bond. I need them to stay safe through this season🙏🙏🙏

Anyways wish me luck, I'm terrified

Topamax working or too soon to tell?

Hi guys! So I started on topiramate 7ish weeks ago, and I think it may be helping but trying not to get my hopes up.

Quick migraine history- I have had migraines most months with my periods for the last two years. On top of that I had some sort of headache probably half the days of the month. The last 6 months it started increasing in frequency. Migraines went to twice a month then to about 4 a month at the start of summer. And it felt like i was having a headache every single day.

Anyways I started topomax a little over a month and a half ago and I wasn't too excited after reading this subs experiences but figured I'd give it a shot bc my doc was starting me at a low dose and slowly increasing (25 mg for first 4 weeks, 50mg for 3 now), so I figured I'd give it a shot and if I hated it I could stop. But I haven't had any side effects minus the one time I forgot to take it at night so took it in the morning and my hands tingled for a bit.

Well today I checked my migraine app cause I realized I havent even had any sort of background headache the last few days, which I've been trying to log when I notice them so they would be on there. But it's so weird to think I've gone a week without any pain in my head as that's not something I've experienced in years.

However I don't want to get my hopes up. For one, it hasn't been an abnormally long time since my last attack (which was a bad one), really just the background headaches that I think are different as of now. Plus I haven't had any of my triggers recently (weather, periods) Also idk if 50mg is even enough to be effective, as I know most have to get to 100mg. Should I be worried about placebo? I doubt it considering I didn't have high hopes to start with lol. Could the last 7 days just be my body finally giving me a break or could topomax actually be helping?

I cried (re)reading Kingdom of Ash at work yesterday

Technically I cried twice but the time I had to go hide in the bathroom for a second was during chapters 30 and 31 (iykyk). I dont know why I thought this book was a good book to bring to work knowing how emotionally attached I am to the characters 😅

In my defense I did start my period like 12 hours later

Vaughan

Rereading this series yet again and I love randomly thinking about Vaughan during the last two books. I have so many questions- Did he actually get caught up doing something (unlikely)? Is he just messing around and getting around the blood oath by believing he'll get to killing Lorcan later? Is he aware of everything that is happening with the cadre, Maeve, Aelin, and others? Is Maeve just like ehhhh fine didn't care anyways cause she wasn't concerned when he didn't show up again? What is he up to?

I like to imagine he found a little cottage on another continent where he left behind the warrior life behind and discovered his love for baking and gardening.

People with siblings who are genuinely not great people- does it actually get better?

Hi all, apologies for using reddit as a therapist but I just feel like I'm giving up on having a relationship with my sister. Growing up, I am always told it gets better as you get older, but nothing is changing. Sorry if I get a bit rambly

So my sister (19F) has genuinely been my (22F) bully growing up. I know it may seem weird that its the younger sister but thats just how it is. Some background context in my family that I think is necessary to understand the dynamic- Growing up, I overacheived in both athletics and academics. She constantly complained that teachers were comparing her to me because they saw me as a model student and people at my school and community knew who I was for sports, which I then played D1 in college. Please please note that I'm not trying to brag in anyway, but it was often an issue in my house because she was constantly compared to me by people around us and even our parents. To make it worse, my dad spent alllllll his time focusing on my athletics, every day after school we would be practicing and every weekend was practicing. He barely spent any time with her and my mom tried to compensate the best she could, but it obviously led to a few issues. Other thing- my dad, sister, and I all have ADHD. Me and my dad are more of the inattentive type while my sister is very hyperactive and often disruptive.

Now my sister has never been nice to me. She constantly belittles me. Growing up she would always tell me things like I had no friends and was socially awkward and would never be successful blah blah. A lot more than this but don't want to write a novel. We could rarely have a conversation without her saying something about how awful I am. And I am not saying I am perfect by any means, sometimes I tried to be a bossy older sibling or I would snap back after a rude comment. But what she was doing was more of verbal abuse then sibling rivalry. She loves to tell me how she wishes she never had a sibling. And made fun of me constantly, and not for normal stuff, when both our dog and grandfather passed away it was like she didn't even mourn and was calling me crazy for crying and saying I was being embarrassing.

For as long as I can remember, my mom and everyone else around me has told me it gets better and that she would "normalize" as she gets older. We got into teen years and nothing got better, so people said once I'm out of the house we'll get close then. Well its been 4 years now and I've graduated college. We talked maybe twice over the 4 years when I was at school and everytime when I was home it would go back to the same bullying. I'm living at home this summer before going to law school and every interaction with her is how I eat too much and how she's so much prettier and will be much more successful in life and telling me to shut up after I say literally anything. The other day she even threatened to hang my cat because my cat was annoying her. I just feel so lost. I have friends with younger siblings who fought with their sibling (not to the extent or as one sided as it was in my family though) and they have become much closer.

Now the thing is she is legitimately a hard person to be around for others too. Throughout school for her, she has never been able to keep a friend and has gotten in trouble at school for being mean to other students. She looks down on everyone who is slightly different from her and often makes homophobic, ableist, and racist remarks. She always acts very dramatic and like everything is about her and will throw 5 year old tantrums if she doesn't get her way. Other people will make comments about her, which honestly is validating to me because I know it's not just me.

So I have been trying for years to maintain some sort of a relationship with her, more for my moms sake than my own. I have spent years in therapy about this, even doing group therapy with her. But I don't know if I can do it, nothing works. I won't lie it has gotten easier, but it's more because I largely ignore her comments and have grown a lot more secure in who I am. Nevertheless, she is a pretty miserable person to be around.

Sorry again for the long post, but has anyone with bad sibling relationships actually see it getting better into adulthood? Honestly the only reason I even somewhat care is for my mom and because we have the same parents, I do have to occasionally be around her. But after this summer, I am permanently moving to a new state and just don't even know if I want to continue trying when everytime I do I'm just put down

TLDR- My sister has bullied me growing up and continues to be very mean whenever we see each other. She struggles outside of out family too with friends and being nice to others. Do these type of sibling relationships actually have a chance of getting better? Should I just stop trying to make our relationship better?

Hobby recommendation- Crochet!

Hi all! Just wanted to share something that has been helping me out a lot these last few months. I've gotten back into crochet because of a move and I realized how much yarn I had (was previously into it during covid). But it has helped me so much with fidgeting and is extra fun cause you can get a cute craft out of it.

Sorry if this is a bit rambly but where it has really helped me is when I am watching stuff, especially with other people. I really don't like movies and tv shows because I can't just sit and watch, I have to be doing something with my hands. Previously, when I've been alone I play a chill game like stardew valley or scroll on socials, but my attention ends up fully on the game/instagram and not on what I am watching. With crochet once I learn a pattern, I can do it while barely thinking about it and it keeps my hands busy while I watch something.

The best is when I am watching stuff with other people. Historically I have avoided watching movies or shows with people because I don't want to be rude by going on my phone or look like I don't want to be there by bringing another activity. But by bringing a crochet project I am able to be fully engaged while keeping my hands busy. Same goes for just having conversations with people. I have actually spent more time hanging out with people because of this and can tell they don't feel like im distracted.

But compared to a lot of other hobbies, I feel like its pretty low cost to get into. I mean if you go buy a tonnnnn of yarn it'll get expensive but you really only need a ball of yarn, a hook, and some youtube tutorials to learn patters. I found it fairly easy to get a hang of, but I am also a very crafty person.

Hope this helps someone :)

How do you function in office jobs where there's nothing to do?

Guys I'm going crazy. I'm doing a summer job right now before going off to grad school but there's literally no work for me to do. I'm on week 2 here and last week I logged about 5 hrs of actual work and this week is looking the same. I'm going completely stir crazy I need more work or tasks cause I don't know how I'm supposed to stare at this computer all day trying to look busy when I have 0 tasks. And yes I've asked my boss and coworkers if there's anything they need help with and nope nothing. How do y'all handle being so bored but not being able to do anything? Like I can't play video games, work on one of my art projects, watch YouTube so what do i do? Each day feels like 20 hrs at work

Should I work on increasing my typing speed as an incoming 1L?

Hi all! I'm an incoming 1L who is currently working at a firm and I have a ton of free time I am looking to fill. I have been mostly reading for fun and learning some introductory law stuff to build a bit of a foundation. I don't want to overdo it on the law specific reading before going into 1L but want more stuff that will help me be prepared. And I need more stuff to do because I'm making it through my fantasy books too quickly to last the summer🥲

I was thinking about signing up for one of those online programs that teach touch typing and work on increasing speed. I know you type a ton in law school and so feel like this would be a useful skill to develop. I'm currently at about 60 wpm, so do you think this would be a worthwhile use of my time? And if so any program recommendations?

Stuck in the parking garage

I feel like I'm missing something here. I got to the parking garage on Leon B run but all three doors are locked. I have nowhere to go and can't get back to the main station. Is this a glitch or did I just miss something?

Mentally preparing for Mr X

It's that time. I've done all I can do before triggering him. I know he's really not that dangerous but it's the mental torture that kills me. I feel like he'll be around every corner. No matter what I can't escape him. Also, I get annoyed when I'm trying to get an item or clear a room and he won't leave me alone so I have to run to the other end of RPD to lose him and then slowly walk all the way back and he finds me again😔

Hi guys! Does anyone have ideas for smosh inspired names, can be as silly as you want.

For context I have a stardew valley farm where all my animals are named after smosh characters/cast. I've gone through the entire cast and a few of the characters. But now what I'm rly stuck on was I just had my fist kid in stardew (boy) and I want a smosh inspired name but am stuck especially since I've used most of the "normal" names. So, any fun ideas?

(Besides cast names I've already used Jerry spruce, bug, dart Simpson, chosen, and detective where's my coffee)
