Midi control for Volca Modular

Possibly been asked a million times, but is there a relatively simple way to connect the Modular to something like a Novation Launchkey (which has a 3.5mm TRS midi) or via a USB hub? Everything I saw on YouTube involved modding the Volca or using another device as well.

Not interested in purchasing anything more than a cable or similar.

I’ve been looking at buying one, but want to make sure I can use a midi controller for live shows.

White Columns - Regret Is An Inevitable Consequence Of Life

18-ish minutes of of synth drone, noise and a saxophone-esque sound.

Have been told it has a Blade Runner vibe, which I’m more than okay with.

Stream or download (pay what you want) on my Bandcamp.

Recommend me a backpack soft case.

Something not excessively expensive, but comfortable enough to carry a fairly heavy Kramer 450b on my back. I just need to carry the bass, nothing else.

Doesn’t have to be overly padded as I’ll use the OG hard case for transport in my car.

EDIT: Have been looking at the Gator Transit as I can test fit my bass in person.

New minimal set up for live shows.

iPad Air running Loopy Pro, Novation Launchkey which can control synths in Loopy and also the Korg Volca FM. Also a have Korg Nanokontrol 2 and a Zoom U-24 interface to go to a PA or bass amp.

All fits in a pedalboard case and is Velcro’d down to some homemade pedal boards.

It’s finished.

It’s never finished.

Table top pedal board in an old flight case. Bass, Volca and midi synth is played using it. Everything goes into an interface to an iPad running Loopy Pro.

Kramer 450b

Haven’t played this for a while, so I thought I’d play it at a show last night. I miss the sound of it. I don’t miss the weight.

Why don’t more companies make controller editors for iOS?

It does my head in that I can’t change any of the settings or midi channels on my Akai LPD-8, Novation Launch Control or Launch Key without plugging them into my laptop.

I wish there was at least an online way to do it.

Hell, even Mvave a has iOS apps.

Workshop / Open Jam/ Gear Nerd: 4-6pm
Facilitated by Anoname.
Join us for a inclusive/non gated gear nerd/play. Have you ever been interested in experimental sound practice and sound gear but too scared to reach out, ask or where to start? Well this is for you! Bring your synths, pedals, cord bag, instruments and lets have a play together. Or just come hang out for the sounds!
Please reach out if you have any questions or access requirements.

As most people now know that Sharehouses' current site is being redeveloped for the North Adelaide Golf Club. We are still currently open at the North Adelaide Railway Station but will have to move and find a new space. We are thankful that State Government have let us still reside in the Railway station while they develop the site.

But we need to find a new forever home and to do that we need your help. This fundraiser will support Sharehouse find a new space with bond and potential fit out expenses.

Currently we are very DIY and self funded with no grant support. While we will keep trying to apply for funding and supports we need to host a series of fundraisers to stay afloat and keep our doors open to community. Please come to our fundraiser shows.
We also want to acknowledge the site we facilitate on is an ancient and important cultural site to the Kaurna peoples. We stand behind and support their determination to maintain their cultural sites. The fundraiser will be split between Sharehouse and the Pirltawardli Collective.

SHAREHOUSE acknowledges that the North Adelaide Railway Station is located on an ancient historical Aboriginal site intertwined with the Karrawirra Pari (River Torrens). We show respect to the Kaurna people as the traditional custodians of the Adelaide Plains.
We recognise and respect their cultural heritage, beliefs and relationship with the land. We acknowledge Elders past, present and believe that sovereignty was never ceded.

We recognise the past atrocities against
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this land and that Australia was founded on the genocide and dispossession of First Nations people. We acknowledge that colonial structures and policies remain in place today and recognise the ongoing struggles of First Nations people in dismantling those structures.

Always was always will be Aboriginal Land.

Any reason why my pedal power supply won’t power my Volca FM?

I have an isolated pedal power supply with multiple outputs. It supplies 9V. I’m using a regular power cable for guitar pedals, an adapter to reverse the polarity AND an adapter to fit the Volca power input.

Things I know:

The power supply works fine. I use it to run other pedals with no issues. I also tried another power pedal supply as well and it didn’t work either.

I have a reverse polarity adapter that I know works. I used it with a USB cable to power guitar pedals.

The Korg works fine from batteries and a USB power source. It just has this hum / whine when it’s USB power. I haven’t used batteries for a while so I don’t know if it’s there when I power it with them.

What midi cable do I need…

To control my Korg Volca FM with my Novaation Launch Key mini?

Edit: I have a Zoom interface with 5 pin midi in and out and I use an iPad with Loopy Pro. Do I run the 5 pin midi from Korg to my interface and then use the USB on my Launch Key?

The X-Files x Terminator 2 crossover.

When Miles Dyson is friends with the T-1000.

(I also keep expecting Robert Patrick to walk through the cell bars every time I see him in prison)

Why are not all my hosted shows showing on my profile?

I do a show every few months on a radio station and when it’s uploaded to Mixcloud I get tagged as a host on the radio stations profile.

I’ve just gone through and tagged myself on all the shows I’ve played. I have 19 shows uploaded, but only 14 of those are showing on my personal profile.

Tail lights on the Yuba Mundo.

Now the days are getting shorter and gloomier in Australia, added these Rock Bros bar end lights to the rail on my Yuba Mundo. I previously had Cat Eye bar end lights but they never quite worked as well, plus button batteries were a nightmare.

USB C rechargeable, synced to each other (change the setting on one and the other one changes) and fit perfectly in the end of the rails.

I can’t add a video, but they work so well.

ARP Odyssey - anything similar?

Looking for an app similar to the ARP Odyssey without breaking the bank with the Korg one. Preferably Auv3.

Thanks.
