Old business

Hi ladies. I'm a single mom and recently took over the family business after my parents retired. We have 50+ employees and we're in the logistics/moving industry. They built an amazing business, but pretty much everything is still done the old-school way... paper files, spreadsheets for everything, lots of manual work. I'm trying to modernize things by looking into ai, automation, better software, and just finding ways to cut costs and work smarter. The hard part is my parents have basically stepped away completely. They want me to figure it out on my own and make my own decisions, which I understand, but it's overwhelming. Not complaining, I'm grateful for eveything. I have two beautiful children, I still want to be present and I'm really grateful I have helpers looking after them, but I don't want to be the kind of mom who's always working. I want to build the business without missing out on their childhood. For those of you who've had to modernize an established company, what was the first thing you changed that actually works? Is there anything you wish you'd done sooner.. or anything you wish you hadn't changed at all?

Appreciate the answers!

trying not to overdo our Legoland trip this sept lol

were thinking to take our kids to LL CA this September. Theyre 6 and 8 and Im trying to figure out the best way to do it w/o cramming too much into weekend

this is basically the plan right now:

Saturday
• Get to Legoland early
• Go straight to Driving School because everyone says the line gets long really fast
• Do Ninjago, The Dragon, and Coastersaurus in the morning
• Grab lunch early
• Spend the afternoon doing Miniland and whatever rides the kids want to repeat
• Maybe check out SEA LIFE too if kids still has energy left

Sunday
• Slow morning and breakfast
• Spend a little time at the beach
• Head home in the afternoon

I cant tell if 1 full day at the park is enough or if we’ll wish we added another day. Also trying to decide if staying at the legoland hotel is actually worth the extra money or if nearby hotels are basically the same xpaerience??
would love any tips who’ve gone recently because I somehow always end up either overplanning trips or completely winging them with no middle ground

Anyone here running an account matrix for IG business pages?

I have an official IG account for my brand but recently the traffic didn't do so well so I've told that I can use account matrix system, creating separate accounts for different target audiences and push tailored content to them.

I’m curious how people are doing it now because IG feels way more sensitive compared to before. Even normal logins or switching sessions sometimes feels risky.

Are you guys separating accounts by browser profile/device or just using one setup for everything? And have you noticed IG getting stricter lately with business pages?

Sealife arizona aquarium tickets + things to do nearby?

Taking my niece to sealife next month and trying to plan out the day a little. Do you guys usually buy tickets online first or just at the door? Prices seem kinda different depending where you check lol

Also wondering how long people usually stay there and what else is fun to do nearby after? Trying to put together a loose itinerary since she gets bored if we only do one thing all day 😂 She’s super into sharks lately so I already know we’re gonna end up sitting by the shark tunnel for half the day

Do pore cleaning brushes actually stay part of your routine?

I got a pore cleaning brush a while back after seeing a lot of people say it helps with blackheads and gives a deeper clean especially if you wear sunscreen daily.

First few uses felt really satisfying like my skin was smoother and felt extra clean after washing. But after a few weeks I started questioning if it is actually doing anything long term or if it just feels effective in the moment.

Now I am not sure if it is something people actually keep using regularly or if it just ends up forgotten after the novelty wears off.

Best laser clinic in Cardiff UK?

Looking for a proper laser clinic in Cardiff for skin and hair treatments. Mainly want somewhere that’s consistent, uses decent tech, and actually takes time to explain what they’re doing rather than rushing you through sessions.

Had a couple of places mentioned already but hard to tell what’s genuinely good vs just good marketing.

I am running a small e-commerce brand with a very lean team. One of our biggest frustrations is watching our larger competitors launch dozens of new ad variations every single week. We are struggling to produce even three or four quality ads per week because the manual editing and testing process is so time-consuming. It feels like we are fighting a losing battle against teams with massive creative budgets. I am looking for a way to streamline our production so we can test more "hooks" and visual styles without burning out our only designer. Are there any specific workflows or platforms that can help a small team act like a much larger agency when it comes to creative output?

My son turns 7 this July and he’s super into Lego right now 😅 so we’re thinking of surprising him with a Legoland CA trip.

I’ve started looking at tickets and got a bit overwhelmed… there are so many options and prices all over the place. Not sure what’s legit or the best deal.

If you’ve been, where did you book your tickets? And any tips for going with a 7-year-old? Also, is it worth it overall?

Just want it to be a fun, stress-free day for him 🎂
