How are D2C founders handling two GST brackets on Shopify?

I sell kidswear, and my products fall under two GST brackets—5% and 12%, depending on the selling price. But Shopify doesn’t seem to let me assign different GST rates to different products properly.

How are other D2C founders managing this? Are you using an app, a custom tax setup, or correcting the invoices manually?

D2C Founders : Has anyone else experienced weight discrepancies with Delhivery?

I'm a small D2C brand shipping kidswear, and I've noticed a few shipments through Delhivery being billed at 500 g+, even though the packed parcel should weigh considerably less.

I'm curious if this is something other sellers commonly face or if I should be auditing every shipment more closely.

A few questions for those who ship regularly:

  • How often do you see weight discrepancies?
  • Do you raise disputes every time?
  • Are the claims usually accepted?
  • Any tips to avoid getting overcharged?

Would love to hear your experiences.

Question for fellow small business owners- @lil_juneli

I have a few toddler co-ord sets left in sizes 1–4 years from our first production run. I'd rather find homes for them through genuine community recommendations than spend more on ads.

If you were in my position, what would you do? Parent groups? Creator gifting? Local communities? Something else that surprised you?

Curious to learn from people who've been through this.

Juneli (@lil_juneli) – What was the first thing that actually brought you sales?

I launched a small kidswear brand a few weeks ago and have been learning everything from scratch.

So far I've spent some money on Meta ads, optimized my website, posted consistently on Instagram, and reached out to friends and family.

Interestingly, most of my orders have come through Instagram and word of mouth rather than ads.

For those running Instagram shops:

What was the first thing that consistently brought you sales?

  • Reels?
  • Influencers?
  • Meta ads?
  • Organic Instagram?
  • Repeat customers?

Would love to hear what's worked for other small brands.

Trying my luck here instead of spending more on Meta ads 😅

I have just 1 piece left of our premium co-ord set in size 1–2 years.

The fabric is a soft cotton seersucker that's commonly exported from India and used by international kidswear brands like Next. Honestly, it's one of the softest fabrics I've come across, which is why I chose it for my little girls' brand.

If anyone in Nerul, Belapur, Kharghar, or Panvel is looking for a comfortable outfit for their daughter, I can arrange delivery today itself.

Small business owner, trying to get this last piece to a happy home ❤️

DM me if interested.

D2C Founders: What causes Add to Cart but no purchases?

I launched a small kidswear brand about a month ago and have spent roughly ₹6,000 on Meta ads so far.

The strange part is that people are definitely interested:

  • I get website visitors when I run meta ads
  • I see Add to Carts happening
  • People engage with my Instagram
  • But I have 0 purchases directly from the website

The only sales I've made so far have come through:

  • Instagram DMs
  • Word of mouth referrals

So now I'm trying to understand where the leak is.

A few possibilities I'm considering:

  • Website trust issues?
  • Checkout friction?
  • Pricing?
  • Shipping charges?
  • Ads bringing the wrong audience?

For those who've built D2C brands, what metrics would you look at first?

I'm happy to share my website and analytics screenshots if anyone is willing to take a look.

Feeling a bit discouraged because I expected at least a couple of purchases after spending on ads, but maybe this is normal in the early days.

Cibrandy India / Woven Labels scam?

Has anyone here ordered labels, hang tags, or polymailers from Cibrandy India / Woven Labels?

I genuinely feel like I'm being scammed at this point. It's been over a month since I placed my order and the only thing I've received is the polymailers. No labels, no hang tags, no clear delivery timeline.

The frustrating part is that my garments are ready, but I can't even list them on Amazon or Myntra without labels. Every time I follow up, I get a different update and still nothing in hand.

Just wanted to check if anyone else has dealt with them before. Is this normal, or have you faced something similar? How long did it eventually take for your order to arrive?

Started running Meta ads for my D2C brand 3 days ago — zero sales so far. Looking for feedback

I Started a small D2C kidswear brand recently and would genuinely love some honest feedback from fellow founders here.

We launched a few days ago and started running Meta ads around 2–3 days back. We’re getting some traffic and clicks, but zero conversions so far.

The brand is focused on premium cotton co-ord sets for little girls (1–4 yrs), with a soft, minimal aesthetic.

Would really appreciate if some of you could:

  • visit the website (can add website link to your comment)
  • check the product pages / homepage
  • tell me honestly what feels “off” or missing
  • whether it feels trustworthy enough to buy from
  • if pricing / creatives / messaging seem weak

Would genuinely appreciate brutal but constructive feedback from people who’ve built consumer brands before

Launched our premium kidswear website today after months of work

After months of sourcing fabrics, dealing with production issues, GST paperwork, packaging trials, and constantly second guessing every tiny detail — we finally launched our kidswear brand this week.

We make minimal cotton co-ord sets for little ones aged 1–5 years using pure cotton fabrics lined with soft mul cotton muslin.

We’ve launched with just 5 designs for now and plan to slowly expand collections over time instead of rushing the process.

Would genuinely love feedback from fellow founders here — especially around:
• building trust as a new brand
• getting first few customers
• improving website conversion
• growing organically without heavy ads

Happy to share the website in comments if anyone wants to see it 🤍
