Questions about ocellated skink

I’m in the early stages of thinking about getting an ocellated skink, as in I started thinking about it today and have been doing research lol. I have a couple questions about the setup if anyone would be able to help!

  1. Would the Arcadia Shade Dweller T5 7% be suitable for an ocellated skink? This is what I use for my leopard gecko. If not, what bulb/fixture would be better suited to this reptile?

  2. Should the substrate be pure sand or a soil/sand mix? I know it should be deep and ocellated skinks love to “swim” through the sand so I imagine a higher percentage of dirt would make that more difficult. I have a soil/sand mix in my leo’s tank, should I do something similar with maybe a higher sand percentage for this type of skink or is pure sand safe/recommended? Is impaction a concern with a pure fine sand?

  3. From what I’ve read so far it seems like they should have a very low humidity level during the day but very high humidity level at night. What’s the best way to achieve this?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Banding on photo paper

I can’t get rid of this banding when I print. I did a nozzle cleaning, printhead alignment, and selected photo paper when printing but it still does it! Anyone know a fix? Is it the paper? The printer?

Donating feathers?

Hi there, not sure if this is the correct sub to be posting/asking this in but I was curious if there was any way, I could go about donating Canadian goose feathers to indigenous people? I know you can donate pet bird feathers in some places to be used in ceremonies, art, or clothing and I wasn’t sure if the same thing could be done with found migratory bird feathers since they’re protected and illegal to own and distribute. I’m in Northern Minnesota for reference.

Shame her!!

She escaped and went on a rampage across the house demolishing cords, she doesn’t even feel remorse for what she’s done.

At the vet I took my rabbit to 🤦‍♀️

Two tortoises in a tank with only a single red heat lamp, no thermostat or thermometer, one hide, and reptile carpet. The first time I came two weeks ago I was hoping it was just a temporary tank for their reptile patients, but no, they were still here and it looks like they both live in this tank full time. So disappointing from an “exotic vet.”

Tricking her into getting water

Apparently no more uterus means no more water to her

I attempted to make a second discord on my ipad account and used my phone number. I did not realize this would sign me out of my original account on my phone. I deleted the new account since what I was trying to do wouldn’t work (I wanted to use it to have a stream going on one account that I could view from the other account to monitor my rabbit)

Now when I try to log into my original account, it says I need to verify it with a phone number. When I try, it says the number is associated with the other account, which I can’t get into to remove the number from, because I deleted it!!!

My bunny got spayed two days ago. I’ve been making sure she eats, feeding her critical care, giving her water with her pain meds via syringe, and she’s been eating hay on her own too. All of her poops have looked normal except this one. She’s moving around normal and other than the lack of interest in some foods that she normally likes, acting pretty normal too. Should I be concerned or do anything?

I made a post in May about my baby girl Sasha and how she hadn’t been able to be spayed ever (age 6 now) due to a lack of nearby vets and my parents worries about the risks of spaying. After I made that post and got a lot of reassurances from folks that I wasn’t a terrible owner and that it wasn’t too late to get her fixed, I made an appointment with a reputable rabbit-savvy vet 2 hours away from home.

The appointment was today, and I’m happy to report that Sasha was successfully spayed. The vet said she is in great health and her uterus was perfectly healthy as well, no signs of any reproductive cancers or other problems. No complications with the surgery.

Anyone have a good bedrock seed for side by side jungle and savannah biomes? Preferably with ample flat land for building and not too many cliffs, caves, or lakes.
