What’s up with my fat wash?

What’s up with my fat wash?

The recipe I used said one stick of butter for 16 ounces of bourbon.

I browned the butter mixed it with the bourbon and shook it up every 30 minutes for two hours. Then I put it in the freezer last night about 8:30 PM Eastern it is now 11:42 AM Eastern the next day and not only does the separation look like this, but nothing has solidified.

Does it need to be left in there longer? Did I not add enough butter or enough bourbon? I used regular buffalo trace which is only 90 proof.

Edited to add I use the word emulsified and I meant solidified. nothing has solidified

Thoughts on this look. And advice on shoes.

Ignore the socks. What shoes, and I guess socks, would pair with this outfit. And is this a decent look?

Thoughts?

Anyone in their 50s improved their handwriting?

I’ve never really cared about my handwriting. It’s always been chicken scratch. Handwriting in elementary school was hard for me. But this past year I’ve started journaling and it’s getting on my nerves how ugly my handwriting is.

Sometimes I feel like my hand eye coordination is off and I can’t get my hand to out the pen on the paper where I want it.

I’ve tried slowing down and it’s a little better but still ugly. But when I slow down I forget what I wanted to write. My brain goes faster than I can write. ✍️

Any tips?

Energel 0.5 Needle tip pen color set - where to buy?

My Google is weak I guess. I bought some needle tip 0.5 single pens from JetPens, just 3, blue black, orange, and sepia. I want to buy these in a pack of all the colors, or as many colors as possible. But I can only find them in 0.7 needle tip. Am I looking in all the wrong places? (That's from a song right?)

Side note: I love the sepia more than I thought I would.

Any help would be appreciated.

Uni-ball One 0.7 skipping is ungodly

Is this normal? I did a google search and the results say to hold at a different angle. I'm not sure I can do that. Maybe the pen just isn't for me. Which is unfortunate because the black is BLACK and I love it.

What's the blackest gel ink I can get that doesn't skip so bad?

is the Chopper droid for sale in the park the same as online?

I was at WDW back in April and didn’t buy the Chopper droid and kind of regret it. I’m thinking about buying it online but is it the same?

What’s the difference in a stationery fest and a pen show?

I see posts about Yoseka’s stationery fest and then there’s the DC Pen Show coming up in August. What’s the difference in types of events?

My order was just delivered and it's hot

My order was shipped July 9 and it was just delivered. I opened the box and it had 2 cooler bags that were not only completely melted, but they were hot.

Should I be concerned about effectiveness?

Book recommendations about impact of giving unsolicited advice and how to do it better?

I've always hated when someone popped in and started "helping" without me asking for it. A couple of years ago I read a tweet where someone was at a conference and the speaker said "Unsolicited advice is criticism. Always". And I was like "YES!". https://x.com/wes_chu/status/1571926496385826818?lang=en

I've thought about that quote a lot since. Now I'm reading Dare to Lead and there's a paragraph (I'm only half way into it) where she mentions that unsolicited advice is one of the top items that prevents psychological safety.

I was looking at leadership/management books and I came across Coaching Habit that's been highly recommended and saw the author wrote a book The Advice Trap basically about unsolicited advice.

Has anyone read it? Does anyone have any other book recs about Unsolicited Advice, the impact it has on teams/individuals, and what to do that is better?

How in the world do you use this little highlighter dispenser??

It’s not like white out or adhesive glue dispenser. I have no idea how to run the tape through the dispenser to put it down on the paper. Or am I supposed to use it like regular tape and just pull it out by hand and then rip?

I thought I could run it along the paper like Tombow whiteout and then pull it off.

How do I pay now?

I filled out the new form to get a Pom portal set up. I received an email today saying that I was approved for a refill and to pay my invoice (Subject: You have an invoice pending from Pomegranate).

When I click Pay $xxx.00 in the email it has me log in to the portal but that takes me to the home page of the dashboard. I have to click around and in Orders I see that it says "Waiting for invoice".

Is there something else to do now?

[WTT] [US] Nib trade: Sailor PGS 14k H-F nib for Sailor PGS 14k MF

The H-F is a little too F for me. I have a Lecoule MF nib that I love and would love to have a 14k MF nib on my Sailor Iris Nebula!

What fountain pen & nib has been the best writing experience for you? What made it so great?

I keep thinking I want to drop dollars on a nice pen, but some of the nicer ones haven't provided as good of a writing experience than a Kakuno, Metropolitan, or a Lecoule. I had a Pilot 743 in FM and didn't care for it. I have a Pilot Grance in FM and don't care for it either. My Kakuno F and Kakuno M are great. My F metropolitans are fun. My Sailor Lecoule MF has feedback that I love but is still really easy to write with. I have a Sailor PGS in MF that seems to have a lot of friction with the paper and I don't enjoy writing with it.

I have a Prera M that I thought was the same nib as Kakuno, but I swear the Kakuno M writes better.

I do have a Vanishing Point in F that is just butter smooth. It's love writing with it so much I try and not write with it often so it's something special when I come back to it.

I don't want to ask what's the best pen for the value, but what's the best pen that's given you the best writing experience regardless of money.

Tombow dual brush pen vs fudenosuke

I’ve got some of the Tombow dual brush pen and one end is the hard marker. Is that marker the same as the Tombow fudenosuke pen?

Is there a reason to buy the fudenosuke if I have the dual brush pen?
