One night (a bit less than 2 days) in Lisbon city center, what would be your itinerary ?

My Question is for Lisbon city center (i already have plans for sintra-cascais!) and not foodie stuff but architecture.

My 2 weeks trip in Portugal is focused on trails/hikes so i'm giving myself this small moment to see cool historical stuff before flying back.

Monastery, belem tower, Praça do Comércio,  São Jorge Castle, Alfama, etc. I just dont know how to split it, in what order to see, etc. i need a bit of help haha. thank you !

Should i rent a bicycle ? It sounds like a great idea to me haha (but maybe i'm wrong)

What are the natural wonders/landscape to see in mainland Portugal ?

Hi, going to portugal late august. I'm very active and mostly an outdoor person. I love to go at the beach to swim but absolutely not the type of person to spend hours at the beach. (p.s. i'm fine with portugal cold water, i am canadian and swim in the ocean here haha)

***For my question, please stay in the lisbon region, or south or lisbon or western algarve. (north will be for another trip! same for azores and madeira)

What i already have on my list :

- i will be doing the Fishermen's trail from porto covo to Salema the first 8 days.

- cabo st-vincent in Sagres

- Near Lagos i will do Ponta da Piedade and must see beaches

- sintra-cascais natural park

- cabo da roca

---------------------------------

South of lisbon : ARRABIDA national park, worth it ? the access via public transport seems complicated...

Am i dumb to skip Benagil and seven hanging trail ? Public transport east of Lagos seem complicated.. + i dont think seven hanging trail will be impressive after the fishermens trail. And benagil seems more like a tourist trap (kayaking in Ponta da Piedade seems just as great as benagil)

Ria Formosa Natural Park, is the 4 hours bus (round trip form lagos) worth it ?

thank you !

How to say ''I am very allergic to peanuts, almond and nuts''

Hi, i'm travelling to rural portugal soon and i am severely allergic to peanuts (deadly). i am also allergic to almond and type of nuts (not as bad as peanuts tho). I carry my Epipen.

I have no problem with seeds and sesame.

I learned the very basic portuguese but i want to learn the most convivial way to tell my situation in restaurants (i will also write it on a my phone). Google traduction does not seem to give me the appropriate translation.

P.s. I dont eat bakery or dessert, so hopefully i think this cover 99% of my problem haha

Solo backpack traveler for 3 days in Algarve, what i CAN'T miss ?

Hi, i'm coming from Canada to do the Fisherman's trail from Porto covo to Lagos.

Day 1 : Land in Lisbon very very early and Bus to porto Covo

Day 1 early PM to Day 8 : Fisherman's trail (walking, so i will skip some sections because you are normally supposed to do it in 11 days)

Day 9-10 : Hostel in lagos. I want to kayak in Ponta da Piedade. Explore old Lagos also. What else ?

Day 11 : bus back to Lisbon

Day 11 Late PM to Day 14 night : explore lisbon, sintra, cascais, etc.

Day 15 : flight back

-----------------------------

- What should i do during Days 9 and 10 beside kayak in Ponta da Piedade ?

- Should i spend one more day in the Algarve and one less in Lisbon region to go farther near Faro ? (as you can read i'm more of a sport/landscapes person than a city person)

- I'm hesitating going farther than lagos ? (benagil cave and seven hanging trail is a 2-3 hours bus one way (so 5-6 hours round trip, i would loose a lot of time)

Note : Day 7 will be a off day (from the trail) in Sagres for me. So i can chill there, rent a bike, kayak, go to the fortress, watch the sunset at cabo st vincent.

thank you so much !

How to travel between small villages on the southern west coast ?

I will be doing the fisherman's (southern west coast of pourtugal) trail late august but i can't walk it all so i need transportation.

Bus or rede express is not available between some villages. I also tested with Bolt and it also looks complicated... Is booking a Taxi days in advance the only option ?

Because it looks very expensive for my budget.. google says **''**A taxi ride from Arrifana Beach (Praia da Arrifana) to Carrapateira costs between €30 and €45''

Is that right ? is it my only option ? thank you !

Accomodations/Hostels very expensive in Madeira ? (for solo traveler)

Solo traveler in late august-early september. Staying for 7-10days. What is the cheapest hostel i could get per night ?

I tried and cant find anything under 90$ euro per night.. It's out of my budget.. only hostels, seems to be no dormitories : https://www.hostelworld.com/fr/

I'm hesitating between madeira or staying in mainland and doing the fisherman's trail. i found cheap hostel solo room at 40 euro and dormitories at 25-30 euro..

i guess madeira is cheaper when you are 2+ person. Or am i missing something. thank you !

Portugal 15-16 days trip : Include Madeira island or not ?

Portugal 15-16 max days trip. SOLO Travel. From Montreal (canada)

I'm mostly into outdoors, trails, hikes. (but of course i can't miss gorgeous cities)

I planned to do Lisbon/Sintra + best parts of the fisherman's trail + Algarve + back to lisbon area.

But i just learned about Madeira and WOW. Should i try to add it ? Should i only visit lisbon for 2 days and the rest of the time entirely in Madeira ?

is this this too much :

Montreal to Lisbon - to Madeira - Back to lisbon - Bus south to Half of the Fisherman's Trail - to Sagres - Lagos back to Lisbon - to Montreal

thank you !

Visiting portugal + Fisherman's trail. What itinerary should i take ? (14-15 days trip)

Hi ! 14-15 days Trip (including flying in and back home) I want to do Fisherman's trip + Visiting Portugal main attractions. What do you guys suggest ?

I'm very fit and used to trails so i think i would have no problem doing it under the normal ''13 days''. but i dont want Fisherman's trail to take my whole trip so i think about shortening the trail to 7-8 days. Starting at Odeceixe instead of porto covo.

Will go late august to september - Flying from Montreal (Canada). what i was thinking :

day 1 : fly to lisbon and enjoy night

day 2 : enjoy lisbon

day 3 : bus to Sintra

day 4 : bus to Odeceixe

day 4 or 5 to day 11 : Odeceixe → Lagos (fisherman's trail)

day 12 or 13 : Algarve : visiting Lagos or leave ?

day 12 or 13 : Algarve : Seven Hanging valleys trail

day 14 : Stay in Algarve ? what else should i see ? Faro ? or go back to lisbon already ?

day 15 : bus back to lisbon and fly back home

How does it look ? should i extend it 1-2 days for a MUST SEE in portugal ? Or without extending, should i just skip some places i mentionned ?

I know i'm skipping entirely the north (Porto, Douro Valley, etc)

IS IT CRIMINAL ?

(P.S. As you can read, i'm more of a ''must see landscapes'' than ''must see cities''. But i still wouldnt want miss the most charming city in the world haha!)

thank you so much for any help  !

Merci !

Is the Rain in late-august/september very bad in high altitude Guatemala ?

I would like to visit places in high altitude like Atitlan and do treks and outdoor hikes.

I dont mind the rain actually, i just dont want any activities or tour to be cancelled because of it. And i absolutely want beautiful blue sky, is this season rainy but ALSO cloudy and grey ?

If it's Rainy but still Sunny i'm fine with it.

Should i wait in november? thank you !

P.s. I read december to april are the best months in Guatemala but its also way more expensive.

Central America or the caribbean. Best place for a solo 7-10 days nature/treks trip ?

Solo Male, 33. Living near Montreal (canada)

One week to 10 days max (inlcuding flights)

I'm very active so i like walking, running, trekking. small hikes. (But i'm NOT looking for huge mountains or volcanos that take 10 hours+ to hike). I like nature and forest, but also being by the ocean or Lake also, so a mix of both would be perfect.

Costa Rica would be my Choice but it seems VERY expensive.

Guatemala a strong second and cheap but i'm a very anxious person and it seems less ''safe''..

Google also propose Madeira (Portugal Island). not Central America or the caribbea but it seems Beautiful, by the océan and very nice for trekking. but it is more expensive.

I need help! thanks!
