Question about the wireless phone charger in the 2026 BEV

I have an iPhone 16 plus currently. I’ve never used wireless charging at home, I don’t have one of those cases with the magnetic charging ring. Do I need one of those in order to use the wireless charging? Every time I’ve placed my phone on it while driving, my phone gets SUPER hot but there’s no change to my phones battery percent. So I’ve just been placing my phone in the cup holder or in my bag while driving. I don’t use my phone while driving, but sometimes when I’m parked I’ll pull it up for Google Maps or to pull up a different playlist. Honestly wish I could just disable the wireless charger altogether so I can place my phone without it getting super hot.

I was nervous about trading in my Prius…

So far I’m really loving it! I loved my Prius too, I felt emotional trading her in because she was such a good car. The 1.99% apr was hard to pass up. This feels like a major upgrade, and is way more comfortable to drive. More fun too!

Help deciding between BZ(4X) or C-HR, used vs new, etc.

I’m currently driving a 2024 Prius, which I do love, however as I’ve owned it almost 2 years, I’m feeling that the size is not the best, either as a driver, or cargo space. I’m 6’6 so getting in and out feels like a contortionist act some days.

Yesterday I took my Prius to the dealership for a recall, and asked them about test driving a Corolla Cross Hybrid, and a BZ. The Corolla Cross was nice, comfortable. Then I got in the BZ and I was in love. It’s so smooth and fast, an experience like no other.

I didn’t realize Toyota also has the C-HR now, I thought the BZ was the only EV they offered, and now regretting not testing one of those while I was there too. I like the way the C-HR looks a little more sporty than the BZ, but the BZ also has better range. Leaving behind the 570 mile range I get with a full tank in my Prius will be hard, but most of my driving is city, my 18 mile commute 2-3x a week. I have access to charging at home in my garage so that’s not an issue. I take road trips 1-2x a year but always stay within the PNW so I think finding charging would be relatively easy.

I’m leaning towards the BZ just for the better range. But also, I’m wondering if I should really pay the extra $12k just to get new, when on Carvana they have a few 2023-2024 with under 15k miles for significantly less… would make the financial situation much easier as the payment would be nearly identical to my Prius.

Idk, what are your thoughts? I think the only way I’m willing to go with new of either is if the dealership can get me as close to MSRP OTD. I’m fine with waiting for the right model and I don’t want to overpay for some stupid “dealer installed package” shit.

Does anyone here play with mods?

I really like these games, but I feel like at some points, between chapters, you have to grind like crazy to get anywhere. It becomes monotonous to the point that I lose interest. Even if all my characters are leveled up to the “recommended” level, I’m still losing the boss battles over and over. So I go into an area and grind and grind just to make it past the next boss battle by the skin of my teeth, even several levels above the “recommended” by the game.

I was browsing mods on nexus, because I was curious. I’d really like to install some mods that help with QOL so I can focus less on grinding and more on just enjoying the game.

Also this is not exclusive to OT2 like I tagged. I feel like all three games have this same struggle and it’s why I don’t get far in any of them.

Don’t judge please, I’m looking for a discussion, not to be ridiculed by people because I haven’t played it vanilla enough for their approval.

Forgot how much I loved these games

Recently bought OT0 for the Steam summer sale, started playing it yesterday. I’ve played both OT1 and OT2 but it’s been a while. Never finished either of them but I want to go back and do more. I just felt like I got to a point where I needed to grind a lot to continue the stories.

There’s just something cozy about these games that makes me want to play them for hours. I love the graphics, the story lines, even the cutscenes keep me entertained and usually I just skip cutscenes.

I’m gonna take my time with OT0 and try to enjoy it and finish more of it. I hope we get an OT3 eventually.

Shellac spray for throat plate rash?

Hello,

A while back I thrifted this centennial badge Singer 66-16. It was in near mint condition, all I really had to do was replace the bobbin winder spring and clean and oil it. However, it has these rash marks on the throat plate and I’d really like to seal them before they spread to the decals.

I previously tried using canned shellac on a Singer 15 that I restored that had the same issue only more severe, with mixed results. It did seal off the chipping areas, however I was not able to get a smooth glossy finish.

Wondering if a few coats of spray shellac would be the better option to get a more even finish on the throat area. Of course I would completely mask off the top of the machine and the throat plate / bobbin area.

What are your thoughts?

To tutti, or not to tutti. That is the question

Hi y’all.

I’m thinking about auditioning for a “more serious” community orchestra in the fall. The audition requirements are a few standard excerpts, and a 3 minute solo of the persons choice (concerto preferred).

I’m thinking about playing Haydn Concerto no. 4 in G major, since it’s the only concerto I’ve touched in several years. Majority of my playing in the past few years has been quartet rep for wedding gigs and whatnot, so nothing super appropriate. Other pieces I’ve considered are Beethoven Sonata in F, or Mozart Sonata in E minor.

If I choose Haydn, what protocol should I take for the tutti section(s) if I am starting from the soloist bar? Should I just stand silently for 12 bars waiting for the solo to pick back up? Play through the tutti section? Skip forward to the solo? It just feels awkward to sit there silently for 12 measures since I am only allotted 3 minutes for my solo…

What would you do in this scenario? I really don’t want to try picking up a different concerto. I’m more confident in refining a piece I already know, than working through something I haven’t played like Mozart 4 or 5.

Interesting floor clock seen on TV show

I was watching Paranormal Portals on Pluto and saw this interesting floor clock in the background. Anyone seen one like this?
