Of course I then bear the brunt of her discomfort.

What's up with the Ticket Sales Act of 2017? Will this year be different?

Happy Schedule Release Eve everyone!

This linked article was published in early June -- it talks about how Ontario is ramping up penalties for anyone re-selling tickets above the original purchase price.

I recall hearing about this law, but I didn't realize it dated back to 2017. You certainly wouldn't know it if you were trying to purchase TIFF tickets on StubHub or Ticketmaster (for resale) within the past few years.

Do you think it will make any difference this year since they're "ramping up efforts"? Has anyone reported violations in the past? Or have you heard about any prosecutions or penalties?

I want to believe that they will truly crack down on resellers, but why haven't they already?

I'm not local, so I don't know much about local laws and enforcement. Just curious to hear what others are thinking.

A second AAdvantage account was created for me (that I did not ask for)

I booked a flight today and decided to finally apply for the Citi credit card based on an offer shown on the page. I entered my AAdvantage account number in the application form. I was approved and all was good.

But then I received an email telling me that I'm now an AAdvantage member with a new account number.

My existing account has miles associated with it. So I'm concerned that my credit card is associated with this new account number, and I'll end up with miles on both.

I couldn't find the chat button to talk to customer service, so I called. When the automated service couldn't understand why I was calling, it hung up on me.

Has this happened to anyone else? Will they automatically combine the accounts, or do I need to call and ask?

Recommendations for Midtown West/Theater district in Manhattan?

When I go to New York, I always look for the best rate. But I'm planning to use points for a trip, so I'd like to stay at the best property in the points range, which is 80k to 85k per night. So not the Waldorf, but something better than the last rundown place I stayed in.

I'd prefer to be in or very close to the theater district. I'm leaning towards Hilton New York Times Square on 42nd because I've stayed there before and liked it.

The Tempo on Broadway at 47th looks like -- it's 95k/night, which I can do, but I wonder if it's worth it.

I'd love to hear some suggestions.

Monitor's native resolution not found in Display Settings

I have a Samsung ViewFinity S65TC 34" monitor (model #LS34C650TANXGO) that I have hooked up to a Dell XPS 14" laptop.

It was working fine until I was restarting the laptop and somehow the display settings got messed up.

When I go to Display Settings and select the Display resolution dropdown list, the monitor's native resolution is not listed.

1980 x 1080 is the highest (and recommended) option, but it should be 3440 x 1440.

Any suggestions for how I get the correct resolution? I had trouble when I first hooked up the monitor, but I don't remember what I did to correct it.

I can't even find a driver to download on Samsung's website. Just the Display Manager, which doesn't do anything useful.

AA system changed departing flight when I was changing return flight

I have a flight booked for September, and I decided to change the return flight from the 17th to the 20th. Both legs of the departing and return flights were for first/business class -- whatever term they use on the CRJ-900s.

I signed into the website, clicked the change flight link, and I selected the checkbox for my return trip.

I found the flight that I wanted, paid an additional $91, and thought all was well. For some reason, the seat map wasn't available when updated the flight, so I went back to see if I could make selections.

This is when I realized that, not only do I no longer have a seat assignment for both legs of the DEPARTING flights, but I've been kicked out of first/business into the main cabin.

I didn't make any change to this flight. I had seat 2A on both legs, and now that's gone.

I know that I'll have to talk to AA to get this sorted out. I'm currently waiting on a call back in 90 minutes or a chat agent in 45 minutes to an hour.

I'm just curious -- has this happened to anyone else? Were you able to get it fixed?

I've changed several flights before and never had a problem.

Every time I open a door, it's the same hallway. My appointment was supposed to start an hour ago. I just want to go home.

Where can I get the best fried rice with lots of egg?

I love fried rice with egg, but it seems like a lot of places either reduced the amoun of egg that they use or omit it entirely when prices spiked.

Any recommendations in the Charleston area?

Checking out reviews from Cannes -- hopes for TIFF?

I'm just reading some reviews for films that premiered at Cannes, and it's getting me excited about TIFF.

What Cannes films are you most hoping come to TIFF?

Most of the ones that I'm interested in so far have a release date that predates TIFF, except maybe Karma.

Can't wait till we get our own slate of films to pour over!
