Last-minute getaway ideas from Winnipeg?

Our plans for this weekend (Fri–Sun) are a little up in the air, and I’d love some recommendations!

We’re a small group of friends/family leaving from Winnipeg. We’re open to either staying 1–2 nights somewhere or just doing a really good day trip if accommodations are hard to find last minute.

Ideally looking for somewhere with a mix of:
-Beach/lake time
-BBQ/picnic
-Water activities or boat rentals
-Nice scenery / hidden gems
-Maybe a cruise
-A good hike for me - the rest of the group may or may not join :(

Somewhere that actually feels like a little getaway rather than just another day in the city.

I’ve been working extremely hard lately and really want to use this weekend to get out of Winnipeg, relax, have some fun, and enjoy summer before it disappears.

I was originally thinking Clear Lake/Riding Mountain, but I’m very open to Whiteshell, Falcon/West Hawk, Gimli/Hecla, Pinawa, Kenora, or somewhere I haven’t thought of. More votes in the group for Kenora!

If you had Fri–Sun free this weekend, where would you go? Would truly appreciate specific cabins/hotels, beaches, hikes, waterfalls, boat rentals, activities, or places to eat!

Clear Lake weekend

I’m planning a little weekend getaway from Winnipeg with a friend this coming Friday and Saturday, and we’ll be heading back Sunday. We’re hoping to stay at a hotel, cabin, or Airbnb and have a relaxing but fun couple of days.
We’d love to spend some time at the beach, maybe BBQ, go hiking, take a cruise, and try some water activities like motorboat rentals. We don’t have a set itinerary yet, so we’d really appreciate any recommendations for places to stay, things to do, trails, waterfalls, beaches, activities, or hidden gems worth checking out.
I’ve been working extremely hard lately, so I really want this weekend to feel like a proper little getaway and a chance to relax, have fun, and treat myself and my friend.

Wedding gift

I was invited to my direct reports wedding. This would be my first christian wedding. How much is it generally expected for the wedding present to cost in Canada, MB? Also how should one dress and things to know about the before and after event as a female attendee.

Looking for a relaxing August long weekend getaway from Winnipeg 🌿

I’m thinking of getting out of the city for a day or two over the August long weekend and would love some recommendations.
I’m not looking to pack the weekend with activities, I mostly just want to relax, spend time in nature, go for a few easy hikes or walks, sit by a lake, maybe indulge in an activity, read a book, and disconnect for a bit.
What are your plans for the long weekend? Any favourite spots in Manitoba (or nearby) that you’d recommend for someone looking to slow down and recharge? Budget-friendly suggestions are definitely appreciated!

Winnipeg realtors!

What is wrong with Winnipeg realtors?
I’ve had such bad experiences. They just don’t reply.
I had my own realtor who would say they’d get me the information I needed, but then never follow up. I’ve also contacted listing agents directly through Realtor.ca, and many don’t respond to emails, calls, or voicemails either.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal in Winnipeg, or have I just had bad luck?

CPA PERT - Level 2 - FR4

Can someone please guide me for level 2 in FR4 - did you use the attached format and wrote examples 1,2 in the same analysis you did or wrote 3 different types of analysis and then related examples in it? I want to confirm since I do have 3 different analysis (which would be three different examples with sub examples in the analysis itself) that I can write about but it would reduce the level of detail I can provide in my reports since we are limited to 5000 characters.

27F - Is anyone else just tired of dating?

I’m honestly at a point where I’m just fed up with dating.
I’m 27F, and despite putting myself out there, I still haven’t met someone I can genuinely picture spending the rest of my life with.
I’m looking for someone who is emotionally mature, kind, communicates well, ambitious, enjoys traveling and trying new things, knows how to enjoy life, and is generally put together. Mutual physical attraction is also important to me as I consider myself conventionally attractive, and I want to be with someone I’m genuinely excited about.
Instead, I keep meeting people where something important is missing, whether it’s emotional maturity, communication, ambition, chemistry, or compatible values and lifestyles.
I’m not looking for perfection. I just want a true partner, someone I admire, enjoy being around, and can build a meaningful life with.
Has anyone else felt this way? Did you eventually find your person, or did you change how you approached dating?

How can one keep their house clean with ADHD and chronic neck pain?

I have ADHD along with cervical neck issues and ulnar nerve syndrome, and I’m really struggling to keep up with cleaning. Between getting overwhelmed, procrastinating, and the physical pain from repetitive movements, even basic chores feel exhausting.

The clutter in the bedroom, closet, washroom, work table, bedside table, common area is starting to feel like it’s becoming part of the furniture. I genuinely want to get things done so I can focus on some admin tasks and other life stuff, but I keep looking at the boxes, clothes that need putting away, the unmade bed, and the vacuuming and mopping that need to be done, and I just feel stuck.

What has actually helped you keep your home manageable? Any routines, tips, or tools that made a real difference? And how do you get your brain to even start when everything feels so overwhelming?

Looking for an Accountability Partner (Winnipeg or Online)

Looking for an accountability partner! I am 27F, and have been feeling a bit overwhelmed lately and want to get back into a consistent routine. My goals are staying on top of cleaning, going to the gym, reading more, and spending less time on social media.
I’m looking for someone who’s also working toward their own goals so we can do quick daily or regular check-ins and help keep each other accountable. Feel free to message me if you’re interested!

Florida Scuba Diving Recommendations

Hey everyone! ☀️🌴

I am in Orlando June 7–11 for a work trip, and after that I’m staying in Florida until June 14 before flying back.✈️

I’ve basically been buried alive in CPA exam studying for over a month straight leading up to this 📚, so I really want to make these few days memorable and actually feel alive again afterward.🌸

One thing I’ve always wanted to try is scuba diving 🤿🌊 I’ve never dived before, but I’d love recommendations for beginner-friendly spots/excursions.✨

A few things:
• First-time diver 🤿
• Want something beautiful/memorable rather than overly touristy ✨
• Fine with oceans, reefs, boats, springs, etc. 🌊🐠⛵
• Absolutely NO alligator/crocodile-related diving/swimming 😭🐊
• Would also love suggestions for other cool experiences in Florida ☀️🌴

Would really appreciate recommendations from locals or people who’ve done solo trips around Florida before 💕
