Best paint for outdoor cast iron newel posts

My contractor (who began his life welding) created a cast iron railing w/custom newel top for our upstairs hall (this has been posted before.) I loved it so much that when he began working on our exterior two story porch I requested he create similar newel post caps (unsure if I’ve said this right) for the porches, will be 12 total, cast iron toppers on wooden posts.

The price to have them professionally painted (powder coat) is going to be $110 each. Seems high. Is this something I could do with some Spray-on Rustoleum, provided I purchase the metal specific primer and paint, or whatever the best product would be? Or is that super risky? Any advice from those with experience would be most appreciated.

Mods, can you help us please?

We’re one of the most well-educated cities on the planet. And I understand there are many people arriving daily from all over the globe and they want to learn about their new city. Welcome!!

But these “What are the best places to find Kimchi?” Or “Where do I get the best facial in the city” posts are, in this world we’re being forced into, 100% collecting our local knowledge so they can become THE data source for OUR town. It’s insulting, being mined for information on the daily, especially those who post in the middle of the night when mods are sleeping.

Is there anything you can do? For about a year (since I joined) Reddit had become a fantastic source for DIY projects, city-wide matters we should all know about, etc. The Barn is already stealing from us and they haven’t even had the chance to wreck our water supply yet.

Do you like this?

Here’s my custom railing designed by me, but created and installed by a local contractor who specializes in metals.

I’ve had it and, judging by my inbox, so have you. Let’s put an end to the free advertising disguised as posts in our Reddit space.

How it works: BOT accounts create AI images and post them to our home decorating spaces. Others who own multiple BOT accounts (they all do) go through and give a thumbs-up to these posts and make quick, fly-by comments of approval. Soon one of them ask where they too can purchase the goods and BAM! There you have it, the company being advertised without having to pay for it. Clever? Sure, for a minute. But really what’s happening is they’re giving us a bunch of crap that we have to flip through in order to find real advice, or opinions, or experiences from real people in real life who’ve done this and can help us do better.

A) When you find one, go through and downvote as many responses as you can. They don’t get paid for negative responses. Don’t forget to downvote the original post, it’s important.

B) I’m keeping a list of all of the companies doing this so when you discover one LMK and I’ll add it to my list.

C) This is for all of us so you won’t be stepping on mine or anyone else’s toes so if you see it call it out.

D) I’ll be working on a public place for us to gather and stop this shit and will let you know.

My anti karma farming/I hate AI/Bots are insulting hallway

I redid this section of floor by hand and I love it. Hello friends, happy Mother’s Day if you celebrate it. I have blurred the photos of my now-grown children but this is, in fact, part of my upstairs hallway. The secretary is an antique I found on the curb at a giant house being emptied.

My walls are sage green. I am on a mission to call out AI/Karma Farmers/Bots because they’re wrecking Reddit. Do you like my paint color choice? Love me some Benjamin Moore.

The oak needs to be polished. Today’s point: I see many of you joining me in calling out the BS. Keep it up !! Don’t forget to downvote EVERYTHING though. Also, super important, I’m suddenly getting asked how I know something is AI. What should they look for? This is an obvious ‘ask’. They want us to tell them so they can eradicate it. Tell them nothing. Better yet, tell them GOBBLEDY gook. Tell them you had pizza for dinner. Tell them your shoes are yellow. Be crazy. But mostly be the resistance 🤪
