You can go back about a month to read my story but in a nutshell I’m disabled and this shoe has allowed me to walk again. Bought 3 new pair from DICK’S (because coupons) and every single pair felt “off”, like the drop from heel to toe was off. This was the #1 reason I switched from Oofos, they were causing awful calf pain. This week at Dick’s.com I bought, and subsequently returned, 2 women’s and 1 men’s in equivalent sizes to what I’m currently wearing. When I went to the cashier to return them she said they have had a lot of Hoka’s returned lately because of issues with the soul. Suggested I try the OnCloud. My current Hoka’s (I have 4) aren’t even a year old. I’m going to order another pair from FleetFeet just to see. Anyone else have this happen?

Hired an Ohio window/roofing/gutter co. w/a 5 star Google rating in the thousands and am literally at my wits end with their incompetence here in MI where they said they had a presence, and a valid address and phone number with a local area code (all forward to their Ohio headquarters). The roof has finally been fixed, their first attempt nearly gutted my mudroom. Gutters seem good so far, and the window installers were amazing, that was until I discovered they used 100% silicone on the interior. Paint won’t stick and I have no clue what to do. I showed them in person when they were here fixing something else and they said they’d fix it, but then left without saying a word, haven’t returned our call, and behave as if this is all somehow our fault. I would be so grateful for any pro advice on how to fix this caulk issue.

Had to hire a painter to finish a few things, one of them being a fresh coat on the doors out back. I got the job I paid for, had her use Benjamin Moore Solar Ceramic (big BM fans here.) She applied 2 coats, final coat around 2pm. Moderate humidity here in SE Michigan. Can I close those doors fully tonight or should I leave them open? Thanks for the help.
58F wearing Bondi 9’s for disabling arthritis, moving measurably better since switching from Oofos. Told by Hoka Cust Svc rep that the 9 is being completely changed for 2027 which has sent me into a tailspin. I think it’s hard to understand the impact of finding something that helps your problem if you’re not in these shoes (yes I absolutely had to go there.) So I stalk 9’s on Hoka, FleetFeet and REI, basically stocking up and delaying the inevitable. Yesterday I received an email from REI announcing this new “GLM” version of the 9’s. Has anyone heard of this version? I have seen zero announcements, ads, nothing. Thanks!
Maybe 5 years ago I was diagnosed with severe arthritis and other fun diseases. Can’t move much, disabled, but lucky to have a great medical team working with me. 58F fighting to get back what little of ‘me’ that I can. Not joking when I say I switched from Oofos to Bondi 9’s on a whim and have been able to walk again. The change was immediate and marked. I have FOUGHT, but this shoe has meant I’m winning. Even got myself an iWatch and am literally watching my progress go up and up. I’m over the moon. It’s been 7 months.
So naturally I was placing an order yesterday and had a conversation with their customer service. Said they’re changing the Bondi completely effective Jan. ‘27, that the 10 will be back to more of a running shoe and I guess I’m screwed. The comfort. The Cush. The COLORS. All leaving. I’m more than crushed. Defeated. Sure I’m stocking up but this goes deeper. They seemingly unintentionally tapped into this niche market and cannot just roll back out and leave us hanging.
If you’re a part of that secret society of old people who wear Bondi’s for the sheer comfort they provide I’d love to hear from you. I’m going to somehow get this info. to the company, whether or not they care or it makes a difference. If you wear them for running like they were intended, I used to be you and will be the older lady smiling as you cruise by.
My contractor (who began his life welding) created a cast iron railing w/custom newel top for our upstairs hall (this has been posted before.) I loved it so much that when he began working on our exterior two story porch I requested he create similar newel post caps (unsure if I’ve said this right) for the porches, will be 12 total, cast iron toppers on wooden posts.
The price to have them professionally painted (powder coat) is going to be $110 each. Seems high. Is this something I could do with some Spray-on Rustoleum, provided I purchase the metal specific primer and paint, or whatever the best product would be? Or is that super risky? Any advice from those with experience would be most appreciated.
We’re one of the most well-educated cities on the planet. And I understand there are many people arriving daily from all over the globe and they want to learn about their new city. Welcome!!
But these “What are the best places to find Kimchi?” Or “Where do I get the best facial in the city” posts are, in this world we’re being forced into, 100% collecting our local knowledge so they can become THE data source for OUR town. It’s insulting, being mined for information on the daily, especially those who post in the middle of the night when mods are sleeping.
Is there anything you can do? For about a year (since I joined) Reddit had become a fantastic source for DIY projects, city-wide matters we should all know about, etc. The Barn is already stealing from us and they haven’t even had the chance to wreck our water supply yet.

How it works: BOT accounts create AI images and post them to our home decorating spaces. Others who own multiple BOT accounts (they all do) go through and give a thumbs-up to these posts and make quick, fly-by comments of approval. Soon one of them ask where they too can purchase the goods and BAM! There you have it, the company being advertised without having to pay for it. Clever? Sure, for a minute. But really what’s happening is they’re giving us a bunch of crap that we have to flip through in order to find real advice, or opinions, or experiences from real people in real life who’ve done this and can help us do better.
A) When you find one, go through and downvote as many responses as you can. They don’t get paid for negative responses. Don’t forget to downvote the original post, it’s important.
B) I’m keeping a list of all of the companies doing this so when you discover one LMK and I’ll add it to my list.
C) This is for all of us so you won’t be stepping on mine or anyone else’s toes so if you see it call it out.
D) I’ll be working on a public place for us to gather and stop this shit and will let you know.
