Interested in Persona 3 and 5. How time consuming is the non combat activities?

I have been interested in it for some time now but I am only held back by the need to participate in the after school activities and stuff like that. Is it a chore to do or what? How would you describe it?

Budget Flathead for Games?

I need help picking a flathead earbuds for single player games. I hope to use something lightweight, no mic if possible, and a detachable cable. Not really a big bass guy. Prefer more on clear vocals or dialogue.

If there is a mic I hope it's in the middle and not on one side only.

The stuff I'm choosing between now are the Yincrow YDX (8 dollars), Faael Iris 2.0 (3 dollars), and Faael MX500 Iris Commemorative (3 dollars).

The Yincrow YDX on a local store only has a mic but I guess I can just buy a different cable in the future.

Not sure what the Iris Commemorative is but I just saw it. It has a transparent body and a white braided cable.

Hoping to get help on this. If you have other suggestions I am open to it. Thank you very much!

Armada OS (20260714) on Odin 3

Tried to make it work this Saturday so I did not try the latest update (20260725) which was released about 7 hours ago from posting this.

Get a micro SD card reader. It was kinda hard for me because I didn't have a micro SD card reader so I had to do the Run Script as Root stuff to flash my micro SD card. Hahaha. Had to back up my SD card through MTP as well so that was not fun. It took almost all of Saturday just because I did not have a micro SD card reader. Hahaha.

Anyway. It was glorious. The sound effects. The interface. It felt really smooth. The games I downloaded are also games on my PC so it just grabbed it from there and that was awesome. It just detected my PC on my home network and transferred it.

Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection was a game where inputs where not being detected on GameNative and it just worked using Armada OS. The boot up was quite fast as well. Stardew Valley was working well. I like it. Proton was downloaded. The required redistributable and Direct X. I just changed Proton and everything was just working. Some games didn't even need any modification and that was nice.

The menus are awesome. It felt so seemless. Like everything just meshes well I love it.

Desktop Mode is kinda nice ngl. Awesome to see on an Android device. Touch controls work well.

Sleep and standby is okay I guess. It has a delay and maybe normal. Power consumption was around 8% for about 7-8 hours while a game was on so I guess a bit comparable to Android in a way if you have a game/emulator kept open.

Now for the negatives in my opinion.
The power consumption is a bit much. It consumes about 4-5W on the menu alone. For comparison, Android on the homescreen is only consuming about 1W. In games it's okay though. Seems comparable based on the games I tested. There's also Armada Control. It's a bit wonky that it keeps on going back to Balanced but the customizations available is nice.

I also tried Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection and the controls are weird. It sometimes reads the input and most of the times does not. I switched to steam input, xbox, and ps and it works or not at times. So I guess it was hit or miss on my testing. Battle Network works well on GameNative while Star Force works well on Armada OS. This one annoyed me because it can sometimes work and most of the time not. When you standby or sleep the device and wake it back up it sometimes loses control again.

I missed the customizations available on Android through PULSE. The refresh rate I think can only be 120 or 60 as well? I forgot. I also had to go to desktop mode to change it. The fan control as well seemed more controllable instead of three options.

I think I also encountered an issue where Steam crashed? I was pressing Steam Menu but it was showing up and closing immediately. I updated Decky and then Steam because it was set to beta stuff so I reverted to stable builds. Maybe that caused it?

I kept it on my micro SD card but I uninstalled it now. Restored my ABL to stock as well. I think I am not yet ready to commit to put it on my internal storage and I want my micro SD card's storage for my other games so I uninstalled for now. It was a nice experience but personally I'll wait for more improvements and stability before I do that but wow that was a nice experience overall but I kinda like my emulators on Android.

I understand Steam Deck users a bit more now though. That was awesome. Will be following this project for sure.

Super Lube on Odin 3 Fan.

It worked. Only hoping it lasts but I already emailed AYN so hopefully I get a replacement fan for peace of mind.

I used my phone case with magnets to hold the screws I took out. I used the puck on my mouse to put the oil on. Hahaha.

4 screws on the backplate and two screws on the fan itself.

I pryed the backplate open with my nail. I pulled on the opening on the trigger and slid my nail on the upper middle part all the way to the end. Pulled on the trigger part again and on the side to the bottom and end of the other side.

There was two pieces of tape I removed. One holding down the wires. It looked like fabric. Then there's the second one holding the fan and I guess exhaust outlet together. It felt like film and rolled on itself after I removed it. Have to be careful with that. Will replace it with acetate tape once it arrives because it's kinda off when I put it back.

Opening the fan enclosure required putting my nail in between the clasp holding one of the three sides and pulling up on the enclosure. Did it for the second one and the third can just be removed.

I pulled the fan blade up to separate it. Got the oil and toothpick and rubbed it around the silver/steel colored shaft.

I put it back and I was surprised because the magnet pulled on it so be careful with that when you put it back.

Put the cover back and screwed it back in. Not too tight. I stopped when I felt some resistance. Put the tapes back on. Closed the backplate and prayed.

I do notice a bit of coil whine at lower speeds but maybe I'm being picky, maybe it's always been there, or maybe it is because of the way I put the film like tape back on. Gonna replace that when the tweezers and acetate tape arrive.

Edit: I forgot to put my grievances. Yes, this is a fix but the fact that we have to do this in the first place should not be a thing. I'm not someone fond of messing with hardware.

I'm near 30 years old and I don't have a lot of time to myself. Most of my Sunday was spent worrying and finding help about this situation. I bought this in the first place to have more time (less friction and portable) to play and chill.

Buying our own lubricant to open the device should not be a thing. I forgot to put that my left trigger also had too much glue or whatever on it so it rubs on the case whenever I use it so I had to do something about that as well.

Other than that this is an awesome piece of gaming device. Don't come at me please. You all know QC should be improved even if we can fix the problem on our own. AYN is not really a new company to have these problems. The device is not cheap. It is the same price as the ROG Xbox Ally in my country.

But yeah. Other than that I freaking love this device.

Odin 3 Fan buzzing like an electric clipper cutting hair when moving.

9 days in. The local store I bought it from tells me this is normal. Hahahaha. That's crazy because in the 9 days I've used this it has never made this sound.

There's also an issue of the left trigger having this sticky or getting caught in something feeling.

The buzzing sound decreases if the speed is lower. The buzzing sound stops for a while even when you move it if you keep it still for some time but it comes up again if you move the device enough. If doesn't need to be how I'm moving it in the video.

Any ideas what I can do to fix this? Already sent an email to Ayn but maybe there's a quick fix for this? I have a hard time not worrying about stuff like this. Hahaha.

Thank you very much.

Gaming again in 2026 as a near trentahin.

Flex siya kasi mababanggit ko yung mga nabili ko for gaming this year.

Anyway. I realized after upgrading and playing again that I started to feel what I felt before when I was a kid. Walang masyadong friction.

I played with a GBA SP, PS1, NDS Lite, PS2, PS4, and a Ryzen 5 2600 + RX 580 (4GB). Then life got in the way. A medical condition.

I played gacha games for like 4 years and no single player games. I had little time and the ones I played either have a really good story or good combat and that was good. I still play one today and it's because of the story.

This year so far naka bili ako ng RTX 5070 Ti at ng Odin 3. This helped a lot because of portability and no need to adjust graphics too much to get an enjoyable experience between frame rate and image quality. Nag-improve rin yung medical condition ko at mental state ko.

Pero siguro sa games rin. I bought Expedition 33, Pragmata, 007 First Light, Crimson Desert, FFVII Remake + Rebirt, DmC 5, and others. Most have a good story and awesome gameplay.

Happy gaming everyone. Hopefully in the future we still own the device we play with.

Lossless Scaling on Odin 3 GameNative flickering and weird FPS.

I just bought Lossless Scaling so I can run 30 fps native and try to get 60 fps so temps are lower but wow the flickering or whatever that is is crazy. It still appears even at .25 flowscale and performance off. It is better but it is there.

GameNative also shows 120 fps even if I limit in game FPS to 30 and only at 2X.

Tried it on FFVII Remake, DmC 5, and Palworld and it all happens to all three games. Tried Vulkan and SurfaceFlinger. Same issues.

FFVII Remake (GameNative) on Odin 3. PULSE and 45/60 FPS Limit.

https://preview.redd.it/c9yafdipn2dh1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=48987f0a4babf9f7b9558e1aaa1f3669d2063efb

Disclaimer: This is going to be long. Not Sea of Stars this time. The Android port is the 1997 version.

I was previously choosing between the Odin 3 and the Y700 Gen 5 and I ultimately decided on the Odin 3 for less hassle and less overall power consumption compared to a tablet + peltier cooIer. I figured I might as well limit my gaming to lower requirement games but here we are.

I got the Odin 3 Max about 4 days ago. A local store had it so I ordered it at lunch and used a courier service to deliver it by 4pm because excitement. It is amazing. Cooler is effective while keeping powerdraw low and the bypass charging is working well. The fan has a smart mode where you can set a speed when temps are hit and it is so useful for someone who worries about temps like me specially on the battery (less heat from the SoC, less heat that might transfer to the battery and less power drawn from the battery).

PULSE however takes this device even further. It is made by u/Kei-Retro-Gaming. I believe it is a fork of ClusterTune but with more controls and functions. It is an app/software that is used to limit the CPU and GPU clock speeds. This in turn lowers power consumption so less heat and higher sustained performance.

It seems the 8 Elite often ramps up the clock speed more than needed a lot of time so it consumes more power needed for the game. I believe the 8 Elite also ramps up in power consumption the higher the clocks go so if you can find a good limit, the battery can last way more.

https://preview.redd.it/44yd28trq2dh1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=5238db7007a67fe5a483d61748fbd1a98afe060a

Now, the function I really like about this is AutoTDP. You can set a frame target (30, 60, and 120 fps) and a target power consumption. You can also enable it to be able to shutdown the two high performance cores (6 and 7) if it is not needed. It will set the CPU and GPU speed on its own and it will vary depending on the resources needed for the game being played.

Although I sometimes think it is better still to set a custom CPU and GPU limit. An example of this is here (excuse the fingernails):

https://preview.redd.it/2hxefh9dr2dh1.jpg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=872d881cb556cac9424543678180a30567529fd2

https://preview.redd.it/go10mh9dr2dh1.jpg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=75c58971dc04b66b984e95ff09a3af596d1fd873

Okay, this one is very close but you can see some difference. Clock speeds are a bit lower than AutoTDP so temps are 1-2 degrees lower as well. It's not much but some difference.

A bigger example is in RetroArch doing GBA. I loaded up Sonic Battle. On AutoTDP it is consuming about 1.6-1.7W. I set a profile and use the lowest possible clock speeds on both the CPU and GPU and it was consuming 1.3-1.4W. That 0.3-0.4W is a few hours on a full charge so a custom profile might be good for emulators that are super optimized or low requirement that you setting a very low limit is better.

It could use some more improvements like it doesn't completely override the fan because you can use the Odin overlay to change the fan and if you set it to Sport mode and sleep the device and open it up again, the fan setting will use Sport instead of whatever setting you set on the overlay.

Anyway. Back to FFVII Remake.

60 FPS can be done but it requires the 8 Elite to use higher clock speeds and that in turn raises the power consumption greatly. First image below is at a 60 FPS limit with AutoTDP. It is using about 10W and it shot the temps to around 64 degrees celsius. The custom setting I used only reaches 50 FPS however it uses about 2W less power and with 64% battery left that difference seems to be about 30 minutes of playtime.

https://preview.redd.it/rrf0yglhu2dh1.jpg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=46a970af27863f0cfbf0ed96e8dc40bce7866dfa

https://preview.redd.it/59z8nlkhu2dh1.jpg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=56420382b6a4bccda4569758d262bfda8ec1f9e4

The game does drop frames when certain cutscenes are played but I completed chapter 1 with the first boss without noticing a harsh frame drop so it likely stayed at above 52FPS. I was playing it on 60FPS with bypass charging and the fan was going a bit but I will take it.

I will like use 45FPS when I am outside even if I do bypass charging because the temperature outside is different and I don't want the fans going in public but wow. FFVII Remake on the 8 Elite is crazy.

I am so excited to see the 2nm or even the 1.4nm SoCs with the HBM. Even just the 8 Elite Gen 5 will likely have some huge improvements because if it already draws less power at 45FPS, then it might be able to stay cooler at 60FPS. I really hope Odin uses a 2nm flagship Snapdragon SoC with the GAA architecture on the Odin 4 or something. We might see something like 5-6W on this game at 60FPS WITHOUT the noisy fan. For context, 30FPS on an open world game runs at around 5W with the 8 Elite.

Anyway. To think we are at this stage already. Awesome work by the developers and everyone contributing to this.

P.S.

Here's Sea of Stars on GameNative!

Odin 3 - Portrait Rotation and Bypass Charging Problem

Portrait rotation is different for me. If I turn it to a portrait orientation, the screen rotated upside down no matter what side I put it.

Bypass charging is not working. Bypass charging is not showing 0 mAh. Charge will go up when plugged in and enabled.

Can someone please help me fix this. I just got this. Is this a defect? Should I send it back?

Sea of Stars (GameNative) on S25. Game Booster + and 60 FPS limit.

S25 12GB RAM with Gamesir X5S and FX5 (only at the first two screenshot). 720p resolution. Brightness at 20%.

I tried to test the 8 Elite chip on my S25 to simulate an Odin 3 because I was deciding between a Y700 Gen 5 and Odin 3. I have a Y700 Gen 3 and S25 so I tried simulating which would be a better buy for form factor and to see if the 8 Elite on the Odin 3 is performant enough for my use case.

Now, for the Y700 Gen 3 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 3) I was only reaching 40 FPS with some drops on the balanced preset. I limited the FPS to 30 and it was using 4.0W. Energy saving preset only gives 17 FPS. Sad.

I then tried on my S25 to check the performance and efficiency jump. There is a difference on screen size so let's look at the performance. 60 FPS while limiting CPU AP to 33% and GPU AP to 66%. I am assuming this is clock speeds but if not, I am sorry. I also only used cores 0 to 5 so none of the two high power cores.

The battery thermals on the first two images have the FX5 running on the lowest setting. After that I did 29 minutes of exploring the area. Moving forward and fighting. It reached 36.8 degrees. CPU and GPU temps also increased. Not too bad for a thin phone.

This is amazing for me. 2.1W on average. Yeah, the screen is small but come on. Let's say 2.5W if full screen is occupied on something like an Odin 3. That's nothing. Well, it is Sea of Stars but come on. This is awesome. About 7 hours of playtime on a full charge.

You can save yourself and stop reading now.

Below is just me rambling on about choosing between the Odin 3 with 8 Elite and Y700 with 8 Elite Gen 5 that has a faster RAM and more advanced storage and bigger screen and battery.

This makes me hopeful that the Y700 Gen 5 with the 8 Elite Gen 5 can run the game without a need for a cooler like the FX5 Lite.

I assumed that the power needed by the SoC is around 1.4W for 60 FPS since it was 2.1W on 60FPS and 1.4W on 30FPS. Math is not mathing for sure but let's just assume. That would mean that the screen, speakers, wifi, bluetooth, and some background tasks only consume 0.7W.

1.4W on the 8 Elite so I guess we can say that if the 8 Elite Gen 5 is 30% more efficient we can assume it will only need 1W on the SoC to deliver the same amount of performance. Let's say 1.2W to be conservative.

I'll assume display and speakers will consume 1.8W or maybe even 2W so that's 3.2W in total. 1.2W is the only thing the vapor chamber needs to worry about because the power/heat from the screen is mostly removed through the screen side, right? Even less of a worry if you factor bypass charging.

Makes me lean towards the Y700 Gen 5 over the Odin 3 because my only caveat is the need to have two cables for both cooler and bypass charging instead of just for the bypass charging.

Although I am not sure if 8 Elite Gen 5 on the Y700 without the ability to limit clock speeds will show the same efficiency like on the S25. Energy Saving is a preset. Can it be edited? Odin 3 still has ClusterTune so it has an edge there. Built in cooler too so WAY less power needed than a peltier cooler so my powerbank used for bypass charging will last way longer.

I have concluded that we need an Odin 3 Portal.

Oneplus Pad 3/4 battery temperature during Switch and PC emulation?

I have read some comments saying that the battery stayed at 35 degrees celsius even during PC emulation at around 720p, low settings, and older games. Is this true? How about Switch Emulation and heavy native Android games?

I want to know if others have the same experience. What are the ambient temps? What game/s have you tried? For how long did you continuously played said game? Does the battery really keep cool or am I better off buying a smaller tablet I can a telescopic controller and cooler?

Battery temp is really important to me when deciding to purchase a device like this. Sorry for the constant posts.

Y700 Gen 5 Bypass Charging enough to keep the battery cool for Switch Emulation?

I want to keep the battery at or under 38 degrees celsius. I have the Gamesir X5S and FX5 Lite cooler. I use the cooler on my Y700 Gen 3 and it is effective but I was wondering if the Y700 Gen 5 improved the cooling that the battery internal temp is low enough without a cooler.

I noticed that the battery heats up due to the SoC because when I put the cooler on the SoC location on my Y700 Gen 3 it helped keep the battery cool so I was wondering if the Y700 Gen 5 improved on this to the point I won't need a cooler for Switch emulation.

PLDT 2499 Upgrade not reaching half of max speed. Always On Modem worth it?

Last week or two I was asked if I wanted to upgrade from our 2199 plan with a 300 Mbps speed to 2499 with a 500 Mbps speed (700 Mbps for 6 months) that included Netflix (standard and +170 for premium plan), HBO Max, Cignal TV box, and a new WiFi 6 Modem.

I said yes because I would essentially be paying less than our current monthly with a 200 Mbps speed increase because our Netflix plan was 619 per month. We already have a WiFi Router with WiFi 6 that I installed but it seems to be free so why not.

The Cignal TV box was installed. I was told to leave it for at least a day to get the channels and I can disconnect it after if not in use so I left it for 2 days just in case and disconnected it now.

My problem is that last week we had abysmal internet and now it has recovered a bit but it is only reaching around 250 Mbps. A far cry from the promised 500 (700) Mbps.

Then just this morning PLDT called me and asked when will I be available for the Always On modem to be installed. I was confused becasue this was not mentioned by the person who offered the upgrade. I asked if there will be an additional fee because it was not mentioned when I availed the upgrade offered to me. I said they only offered a modem upgrade but did not mention the Always On capability.

He called back 20 minutes later and confirmed that the first 6 months is free but after I will be charged 149 pesos per month. He then said the offer now is it will be cancelled but another service order will be created to install the Always On modem and it will be free now instead of 149 pesos per month after the first 6 months.

Is it worth it? I don't like that they can possibly use this as an excuse for slow internet speeds. I might not be able to get the speed I pay for because they can have the ability to purposefully disable the fiber line so I get connected to the LTE internet to free up congested lines or something.

I also asked about the speed not reaching the max that was promised and he said the speed upgrade will not kick in until after the new modem installation. I asked if the speed upgrade will automatically kick in after the cancellation of the service order and he said he was not sure. The guy said my modem is old already but should not really be a problem to reach the speeds I need.

A few minutes after the call with the technician, I asked my mom at home to do a speed test and it was only reaching 180 Mbps so yeah.

What's your experience? Anyone in the same boat?

Y700 Gen 5 or Oneplus Pad 3/4? Bypass Charging or bigger body?

The most taxing use case will likely be Switch Emulation and light PC Emulation (2D games). Not sure if Wuthering Waves will tax it as much but that as well. Planning to keep it at 60 fps or even below. 720p for switch and pc emulation.

I have a Gamesir X5S and FX5 lite cooler. I kind of want to ditch the cooler if possible on the Y700 and just rely on bypass charging to keep the battery below 38-40 degrees. I'll be carrying a powerbank with me for that.

I want to know if that will be enough to keep the battery at 38-40 degrees celsius because if not I'd rather go for a chunky tablet that keeps the battery far from the SoC to keep the battery cool. It will also free me from a powerbank albeit I understand that would mean the battery's life is being used as opposed to keeping it on bypass charging.

Also, if you guys can tell me the power consumption of the Y700 and Oneplus Pad 3/4 during Switch Emulation it would be greatly appreciated. I want to know how efficienct the device is and I cannot seem to find it on any YouTube video. I have been waiting for Retro Tech Dad's video on the Y700 Gen 5 because he did a Gen 4 one with battery times and he seems to be the only one putting an emphasis on it. Everyone else just talks about it in passing or not at all.

Y700 (8 Elite Gen 5) PC Emulation Efficiency?

How is the thermals and power consumption? PC games I'll play are just lightweight ish titles. Dredge, Sea of Stars, Celeste, Stardew Valley, Mega Man Battle Network/Star Force, and such through Game Native.

I have a Gamesir X5S and FX5 lite cooler. I was wondering if I can ditch the cooler. Bypass charging I might keep but wondering if a cooler is no longer necessary for these games. If the battery won't heat up if not on bypass charging.

Although I am curious about games like Expedition 33, Pragmata, FFVII, Crimson Desert, and 007 First Light. Those are the ones on my Steam play list. Hahaha. These ones I am for sure using a cooler and bypass charging. How's the performance for these ones?

I currently have the Y700 Gen 3 but PC emulation makes the device heat up a bit even with bypass charging and I use a cooler. I am mainly concerned about the battery thermals and power consumption.

Truth be told I am okay with streaming because my PC is quite capable but when I am outside I want something to use without latency. Tried tailscale and I am not getting good latency. I am even considering an Xbox Ally X but I don't really want anything that chunky so I am wondering if the Y700 Gen 5 is enough for my usecase.

Thinking of switching from IPS to OLED. I am mainly concerned about motion smoothness. Please share your experience.

I currently have the Asus XG27ACG and AOC 24G2E. I can see the difference in contrast between the two because I have the Panda panel on the AOC so the contrast ratio is higher than on the Asus so I guess I already understand that the OLED will be an improvement for contrast and blacks.

My only point of comparison for an OLED is an iPad Pro M4 and S25 but I believe there's a difference in motion smoothness because of the size difference and something with our eyes. Planning to get a 27 inch 1440p OLED.

I have also noticed that when I play 60fps gameplay videos on my Asus monitor in a smaller window, it looks smoother. I wonder if I will get that same motion smoothness but in full screen if I switch to an OLED monitor? If not the same level of smoothness because of the size difference, will it still be an improvement?

I have a pretty okay PC. I can hit around 80 to 90 FPS on Expedition 33 at the highest settings but with DLSS on Quality. At that point will it be worth switching in terms of motion smoothness?

For the colors I think most of what I see here are oversaturated stuff. I kinda prefer the more natural looking image which is usually on the IPS monitor. I feel like really big improvement in image quality is only in the contrast, blacks, shadows, and stuff like that. Otherwise the colors is the same if you have a good IPS panel? Please correct me on this.

Flathead for jogging? For desk use? Both?

Wingtips might be what I am really looking for but I still have not bought any flathead earbuds for now so I made this post.

I just placed an order for the Moondrop Old Fashioned and Snowsky Retro Nano. I then remembered I need some for jogging and if maybe the Old Fashioned is not my jam I have a backup.

I need something light but can stay in my ear. I am not really sure what weight I should aim for. Does the wingtips help negate the need for very light earbuds?

I was looking at the Moondrop Nicebuds, NiceHCK YDX, NiceHCK EB2S Pro , and Fiio FF1. Dunu Alpha 3 I saw as well but does not seem appropriate for a jog but is good for a desk setup.

I guess I am looking for something for jogging and something for desk use. Maybe there's something for both. My budget might be around the Dunu Alpha 3 but of course it is nice if it can be cheaper.

RayNeo Air 4 Pro - First Impressions

PURCHASE

Ordered the RayNeo Air 4 Pro through Lazada. I think it was the official store from RayNeo. I bought it for 250 Dollars (after conversion).

UNBOXING

It was packed with bubble wrap and there were minimal dents on the box. Nothing really concerning. Receipt included.

The first box is a brown box with a guide to rip it open. The box inside is nice. It was easy to open. Just let it drop down I guess. The glasses was inside the carrying case. The cable was also inside the carrying case and it was tied down by a small strap inside and that was nice.

I would not put it back with the glasses though because I won't cover the male port with the plastic but that was a nice touch.

ITEMS INSIDE

Carrying Case. The front of the case is somewhat hard. It is harder to press down on compared to the rest of the case. I think you'll have to be careful with it still but it'll do for me. It smells nice. Hahaha.

Cable. It is about 1.1 or 1.2 meters. Compared it to my 1m cable. It is good enough for a table or phone but if I'll connect it to my PC it is too short. Would have been nice if it was braided but it's as thick as my Anker cable. That's solid.

Cleaning Cloth. It looks nice. It works.

Nose Pads. Two other nose pads. Haven't tried yet. The initial one fits me well.

RayNeo Air 4 Pro. It is plastic. Doesn't feel premium but it looks nice. The finish is good for plastic I guess. I was excited though. I kinda made a sound when I opened the case not gonna lie.

Cover. It's plastic. It snaps on below. The top just sits.

GLASSES - PHYSICAL

Usage Time. I have used the glasses a total of 3 hours. First is a 1 hour continuous usage and the second is 2 hours. These are my experiences. Will be watching a Valorant Livestream (Masters London) so will edit this post of leave a comment after that.

Weight. It is lighter than I expected. When I wear my prescription glasses I feel the nose pad clamping on my nose. The nose pads though I do not push it down on my nose. It is just sitting on the top of my nose. If I do push it down it does put pressure. I will try to get the Oakley stuff or something to see but so far it is okay.

The Fit. The glasses' temple opens up a bit. Stretches a good bit but it does not really crush my skull. Okay so it is comfortable for me so far.

I measured my IPD and it is about 63mm to 65mm. It's good for me. I have to raise temple a bit but since it clamps on my head a bit, it does not easily fall. It falls a bit when I am sitting while looking a bit down but when I am laying down or my head tilted up it is good.

Temple Adjustment. I cannot do it. I feel like I'll break it. I cannot adjust it. Hahaha.

Temperature. Okay for the heat. I am in an airconditioned room with the temperature set to 27. The right side and the top part that can touch the top of your eyebrows is what gets warm.

The temple part gets warm if I touch it but I do not feel it with my head but I do have long hair that can cover my ears so the skin on the top of my ear is not exposed.

The top part that touches the skin above my eyebrows if I really want the screen in there I can feel it a bit. It got moist from some sweat but putting it on there is not really needed but I do find it a bit more immersive or a better fit for my eyes so there is that.

Reflections. I have the snap on cover but I can still reflections. I can see my arms. on the glasses. Not the screen itself but the glasses part. It is a bit distracting sometimes but once you focus on the content you are watching/playing I do not notice it anymore.

GLASSES - SCREEN

Screen Size. It is at a good distance. I can see the whole screen well. It does not make me want to move my head to comfortably see. I think they set a good distance but I feel like it can feel bigger if we could have zoomed in but I guess that's the trade off for the price. Solid distance though. I do not have to move my eyes too much to see the edges and go left to right or top to bottom. Good FOV I guess?

The edges are quite good but with some configurations I can understand the edge blurriness that I've been reading about. It exists but it can be fixed for my case. It is specially clearer to me if I do push the glasses towards me more but it is good even without that.

It is nice. It has that cinema feeling for sure. I love watching at a cinema and it gave me that feeling. It's not instant though. It had to settle but once I got lost in it I felt it.

Resolution. It is 1080p but it is crisp. Aliasing is not obvious to me. This can be a huge advantage for games. Less burden on your GPU specially on the VRAM. Will update this part in 3-4 days. Might be an edit or a comment.

OLED. Okay for the OLED screen. The brightness is really good but I cannot really feel that OLED contrast? For reference I am using a Lenovo Y700 Gen 3. It's an 8.8 inch LCD screen. The blacks are the same for me. My Lemorele LD50 is yet to arrive so I cannot connect it to my PC yet.

For context. I have two IPS monitors. One 27 inch 1440p and one 24 inch 1080p. The 24 inch has better contrast than the 27 inch. The 27 inch has that washed out look compared.

I tried streaming using Artemis. The gray banding is present for me. When I look at Steam UI. The grey parts have banding. Streamed footage though. At around 40Mbps quality. Really excited to see how it is directly connected to my PC.

The advantage for me compared to my IPS displays is that I can see some details more. Shadows are clearer. Not washed out but clearer. The motion is also better than my IPS. It is a bit smoother. No ghosting for me.

The brightness is really good too. It does not hurt my eyes even at the highest brightness. The brightness has 8 levels. I set mine 2 to 3 above the bottom as I like it better but it doesn't fry my eyes even if I try higher.

One of the reasons I want to try these glasses is the OLED tech. I do have an S25 but I want to test out a "big" OLED screen before I buy an OLED monitor and I don't know. I really have to compare it to my IPS monitor to see the difference but with my tablet I am not sure there is a big advantage for colors or maybe I'm just bad at comparing. I guess it works better for me because I am waiting for the Penta Tandem QD-OLED so this makes me not want to get an OLED monitor as I do not really see that big of a difference compared to my tablet.

Typing/Productivity. Nope. Text size is really small for typing words. I tried to type part of this Reddit posting while using the glasses and it is really not good for me. Maybe that's because of my eyes but it is really small. Subtitle on movies and anime are okay though but text on Windows Explorer, Notepad, and this Reddit post is small.

USAGE

I used it while laying in bed, while sitting on a chair, and while walking around. I also tried typing.

Laying in Bed. It is the most comfortable. It is really nice being able to lay down with your body straight and your head and eyes straight up without having to hold up a tablet or phone or laying on the side crushing your one eye against a pillow to put the tablet on a stand.

It is very comfortable while laying in bed. I can use my tablet as a trackpad but it is the typing that is of course in the hard side. That's the only disadvantage I guess. I have my tablet plugged in because it has two USB-C ports and bypass charging so there's that.

Power Usage. Without bypass charging though, while watching YouTube and Netflix (display on tablet is still open as mouse cursor) the power consumption is around 1,000 mAh. It is a huge jump. Brightness is at level 3 (lowest is 0).

Sitting on a Chair. It is good. Specially when laying back. It is comfy as well.

Walking Around. It is not really making me dizzy. It can be shaky but I do walk pretty straight/weird (people have mentioned it). Sorry about that. Hahaha. Not a good point of comparison.

CONCLUSION

It is nice. It works. It is cool new tech for me.

The colors are comparable to my tablet so that's a lack of advantage for an item you have to buy separately when you already have a screen on your device.

This is not really concluded though. I still have to compare it to my IPS monitor while gaming directly connected to my PC. I can see some washed out blacks/greys on my 27 inch IPS monitor. If I can see a difference there, the worth of these glasses for me will increase.

The privacy is really good. That is a big advantage. No one can see what you are doing. The sound is good enough for me. I can hear it clearly but there not much background noise around me. Still. Good enough for sure. I can understand the people who say they use it in bed with their partner sleeping next to them.

The motion is good. It has that OLED motion I guess because the smoothness and the blur is not really there or less when I move the camera fast. That's good.

So far though I do not think it is a must buy. I guess it depends on your device you use to watch content. There's a huge advantage in comfortability if your IPD matches and your eyes are good but if your content watching/gaming device already has a good screen I think it's not a must buy. Really cool tech.

I do not regret buying it though. Will keep it. It is comfortable when laying on your bed and that's huge for me. My use case in weekdays will be good because I want to lay on my bed after coming home from work. Chilling. That's going to be nice. I can see myself really enjoying that. I can do it with my tablet but as someone who sleeps laying down face up this is really good for me. It removed an annoyance for me.

I am still hopeful the value for me will increase though. Once the adapter arrives and I can connect it to my PC I really want to try it for games. I have an RTX 5070 Ti so I want to see the raytracing stuff on the glasses. Will be playing Expedition 33, Pragmata, 007 First Light, and Crimson Desert. Might reinstall MW 2019 to check how it is for FPS. Excited for that. Also hoping the banding will disappear because I am no longer streaming my PC to my tablet to the glasses.

If that happens, the price for OLED qualities is going to be huge. My 27 inch 1440p is about 40 dollars more when I bought it about 2 years ago compared to the RayNeo Air 4 Pro.

Now, if the screen quality is comparable to the pricier glasses, this price point is really good. The ability to watch movies and play games while laying down without having to hold up a screen above your face is huge. That's the main thing for me. You get the comfort and function. Although some have said they like 3DoF because they feel dizzy otherwise.

Might do another post specifically for gaming. Then once I purchase a Penta Tandem 1440p QD-OLED monitor I will compare it to that as well but that's at least 6 months from now I guess.

IMPROVEMENTS

The cover. If it can cover your peripheral vision more it would be more immersive for sure. Right now I can still see lights outside and it can be distracting at the start.

The reflections as well. I see my arms and stuff.

The weight of the GT seems better. The Air 4 Pro is comfortable enough for me but being 12 grams lighter than the Air 4 Pro that's going to be an improvement for sure.

Efficiency. The heat and power drain is hopefully improved upon. 1,000 mAh for watching YouTube or Netflix for a tablet using a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is high. The heat that I can feel on the top of my eyebrows is present. Not bad but it can make my skin sweat a bit if it is really close. I guess the Air 4 Pro without the chip for spatial computation has an advantage there?

RayNeo Air 4 Pro use case? How is it for games?

I just ordered the Air 4 Pro. I maybe should have waited for the GT or GT Max for the 3DoF but yeah. So far I am mostly thinking to use it with my Y700 tablet for movies and emulation. That one has two USB-C ports so no problem with the battery. For PC I have the Lemorele LD50 and that's mostly games and movies as well.

I really cannot think of other things to use it for. Hahaha. Maybe there's some fun suggestions?

For games I have a fairly capable PC. My only worry is that the glasses do not have VRR, right? How is it? Do you experience screen tearing? What are your work arounds to this? Set it to 60hz and limit the fps to 60? I kind of plan to play fairly demanding games like Crimson Desert, Pragmata, Expedition 33, and that sort of games.

Edit: I currently use a 27 inch 1440p monitor. I am about a forearm away from my monitor when I use my PC. Am I going to experience a "bigger" screen? Is the resolution decrease going to be noticeable?
