Playing Bombrush for the second time on the Switch

Man, the game is even more fun to play for the second time then for the first.
Mostly because the game doesn't do a good job on explaining the nuances of its mechanics so now that i don't have to stress over or look up stuff it's a much smoother ride.
I'd wish the graphics were less like JSRF and more its own style as sometimes it feels more like a copy than its own thing.
The story is still quite deep and well presented imo - even more so when they could have gotten away with much less but they didn't.
The controls are a blessing. I played Mario Odyssey again sometime and in that game doing some jump combinations give me stroke but here is's so smooth after getting the hang of it. When i screw up something i know it was me and not because the game requires me to push 5 buttons in succession to do a damn jump that could have been easily mapped to 1 button.
The music has its annying downtimes with a few tunes but i realized that there are more epic songs than i initially thought there are.
Fighting the police is still bad but not as infuriating than it was for the first time for the aforementioned reasons. Maybe playing it through for the third time it will even be enjoyable lol.
I have nothing agains bmx and skateboard stuff but here it feels quite out of place. For some Jet Set Radio reasons inline skating feels much more futuristic than the two other sports even more so when everything looks quite futuristic but the bmx-s and the skateboards look like they came from 1990. Some more cyber designs would have been welcome or just ditch them alltogether and focus more on the inline skating so the main sport of the game would have its earned highlight.
In the Hyperfunk trailer it seems that the graphics will have more of its own identity this time but the skateboard and bmx stuff is still from the past long gone.
Anyway i can't wait to play Bombrush's successor. Unfortunately i feel that it still have a better Jet Set Radio dna than the new game that Sega makes right now in the series.

Yokota Takuma's previous series - Straighten Up! Welcome to Shika High's Competitive Dance Club! (2015-2017)

- the series has 10 volumes in total
- it seems to got the axe at the end of volume 9, so vol. 10 is like a flash forward what would have happened if the the series would have continued on (the same that happened to 'Shuudan!')
- made before 'Shuudan!' and after 'Natsu to Mikoshi to Kyodai Kaijuu'
- the series depicts competitive ballroom dancing in an interesting and flashy way
- the main characters are the most adorable protagonist you'll ever see but the manga itself suffers from having too many people in the spotlight (just like in Dumb Prefect)
- there are many emotional highlights but the tournament chapters really drag on for too long and the focus is often lost on the characters
- an anime adaptation would have helped immersely as witnessing the action in motion with music would have made the material really shine
- the art is top notch as usual with some interesting character designs mixed in. the dancing and passion is as perfectly captured as it is possible in manga form
- there is a prototype autistic character that could be seen as a less amiable precursor for Sakuradaimon Tougo (from Dumb Prefect)
- the characters' looks are switched up as they get older like in Dumb Prefect and DAH
- there are some characters who'll be seen in other series later, also Yokota sensei's panda bear mascot is everywhere to be seen
- the series has an official English translation but only on digital platforms
- i'd recommend reading it for the fans of Yokota sensei but definitely not before reading DAH, Molester Man and Onani Master Kurosawa
