In a hypothetical mythological story, Dionysus got Hermes so drunk that He couldn’t beat Dionysus in a footrace. Hermes, however, was clever and wily and tricky enough that He knew Dionysus was trying to trick Him. Who wins? It’s Hermes for recognizing the trick and recognizing the “guess You’re too drunk to win” and “Guess wine is more powerful than speed” ragebait and not letting it affect Him, right?

  1. While I don’t care for the running or the lightning effects, I absolutely ADORE the look of the Speedforce in the Snyder Cut
  2. Blue Beetle was a ton of fun, absolutely loved it. Glad it wasn’t entirely thrown out with the DCEU and it gets to stick around in some form

Started as a shitpost, but I got too proud of it

Was meant for r/dccomicscirclejerk with a caption like "Iman Vellani as Green Lantern because god knows she they didn't let her be Ms. Marvel", but I ended up putting way more time and effort into it than just a normal shitpost. Particularly proud of turning the hands into half-decent gloves, as well as the middle bit of the bangle being the ring.

Big influx of CP bots?

I run a reasonably sized NSFW server connected to Disboard. We’ve only ever gotten 1-2 bot joins in our entire existence, but yesterday and today there have been 3 advertising CP-selling groups on whatsapp. Luckily, I have to manually add roles to users for them to access more than one channel to send messages, so it’s not too big a deal. Has anyone else seen this happen recently? Is this just a Disboard issue, or Discord as a whole?

/UJ Legends of Tomorrow had one of the most interesting non-comic versions of Hawkgirl

This would get downvoted to oblivion for speaking positively about a female character and speaking positively about the Arrowverse on the main sub… If they even know what Legends is.

Admittedly, the actress portraying her is not great. Also, her character suffered from the same growing pains as the other characters in season 1 of Legends, before it went on to be one of the best pieces of comic book adaptational media out there.

They took a character who’s inextricably linked with Hawkman, in almost all aspects, and decided to explore what she’s like without him. But instead of just ignoring him, she did have him for a time. Is that not fascinating? They took a look at her personally, particularly in her bonding sessions with Sara, but they also examined what a romance for her with someone other than Hawkman means! They examined what fate, free will, and soulmates actually mean!

Given that Gunn has said he enjoyed Legends, I hope he brings a bit of that same curiosity about her to the DCU. Or at least bring back that helmet, that was a really badass helmet, way better than in Superman
