I see these long form videos all the time, people restoring all sorts of random items like toy cars, power tools, vintage electric fans, etc. There’s a very definitive pattern to these videos. They might be 30 to 60 minutes long and each clip is no more than 10 seconds, always up close with good lighting and no spoken words. Some of them get millions of views in a short amount of time. I actually know how to do all this stuff and I belong to a public maker space that has every tool imaginable. Anybody have any thoughts on this niche? Thanks in advance.

When does the pit tell the driver about the penalty?

I’m new to Medicare. I had a follow up appointment for cataract surgery which was done before Medicare. The doctor asked me to pay them directly and said that they would submit the claim to Medicare, then Medicare will send me a check. No further action necessary for me. Is this common? Why would they do this? I have parts A, B & Medigap (not a high deductible plan). Thanks!

My Trax does not have a temperature gauge on the dashboard. After reading all these comments about blown head gaskets and turbo problems, I’m wondering if there are any options for an auxiliary temperature gauge or an OBD sensor that could be run continuously while driving?

I’m planning to build a 24’ x 36’ post-frame/pole-barn in Montmorency County Michigan. The site ground snow load is 50 psf.

I was hoping to purchase plans online which would meet the snow load requirements. I found a builder/supplier but they don’t sell plans. The information on their site is overwhelmingly geared toward hiring them to build it or buying their pre cut package and trusses.

Does anyone have a link to plans that meet the snow load requirements? Separately do I need a Michigan engineering stamp?

I have approximately $500,000 in a brokerage account which is comprised of stock that I have held for nearly 25 years. It’s up approximately tenfold from when I acquired it. I’m about to retire and have considered that I could borrow against it to fund two or three years worth of living expenses. My income from all other sources would be very near zero. Over the next few years I could sell part of it annually and pay zero capital gains tax if I remain under the threshold. What am I missing?

I met with a broker today and he covered the differences between G and HDG. I think I could live with HDG simply because it’s so much cheaper and the out-of-pocket is not terribly high. Separately he talked about riders where I could buy a policy that would pay something like 10,000 or $20,000 if I had a heart attack or if I got cancer or one other about long-term hospital care I think. All 3 can be had for a little over $100 a month. I’ve never heard of these riders, so I’m wondering what the prevailing thought is as to whether HDG plus Riders is a reasonable way forward versus standard G. Thanks in advance.
