Is anyone else’s 17 getting weirdly hot? IOS 26.6

My phone keeps getting super warm to the touch (36–37°C internally), especially from 50–70 on a 20 w(h)att 🧱 or using apps like Zoom and Domino’s. It doesn’t happen every single time, but occasionally it gets to that "can't even hold it" level of hot. Mind you, the “your phone is warm” warning never showed up it just genuinely feels super warm to the touch also discharges much faster during that period.

Anyone else experiencing this weird inconsistency on this update?

Someone explain Analytics logs

Have been following the analytics logs for the iphone 17 for a while now. And the reading for the battery just keeps going up after recalibration. My bh shows 98 but according to logs should probably be 100 even now which is really weird. Are these readings trustable or correct?

Anyone facing this weird video call glitch? IOS 26.5.2 and 26.6

Whenever I video call someone and use PIP the SOT in battery section shows like almost double the amount of actual SOT. Actual whatsapp SOT is 5h but battery settings shows 7h. This happens even if I use facetime or any other video call thing. And happened before on ios 26.5.1, .2 and now even on 26.6.

Sharing bad experience with iphone 17

I am writing this post in hopes that someone might benefit from it.

I would not be writing this post if only I were having such a bad experience, all of my friends are also very disappointed with their iphone 17s. Wish I had gotten an S26 maybe. Everyone might not face the issues I will talk about, but many will.

Anyway, In short, it hasn’t been good for me. I am someone who mostly uses my phone for social media (Instagram, Facebook and the like…) and one thing I understood was that this phone was not made for it. It heats up enough for it feel uncomfortable and the battery drains like crazy. I have noticed my phone getting hot even while using the settings application. All the youtube vids promised me upwards of 10 hours but I barely get 6-7 hours of SOT. Whats funny is my iphone 11 (81 bh 4 years used) also gets 6 hours it got more than 10 hours back in 2022. I understand the software may be at fault but I have never gotten good backup with this phone.

If you are someone who doesn’t use social media a lot or even game, the backup will be decent. The camera and the user experience is mostly great with the 120hz display but for me and my many friends the backup has been a major red flag.

Thank you for reading.

iPhone 17 Major Issues

I recently bought an iPhone 17 about two weeks ago, and I’ve already noticed several major issues that I’ve seen a lot of other people mention as well.

The biggest problem is that the phone gets really hot after just a few minutes of normal use, like scrolling through social media. I don’t play games or do anything particularly demanding, so it shouldn’t be heating up this much. It also gets noticeably hot while charging, even when using an official Apple charger.

I’ve also noticed that the display feels surprisingly choppy. I don’t use Low Power Mode, and “Limit Frame Rate” is turned off, yet it doesn’t feel anywhere near as smooth as a 120 Hz display should. I also experience frequent frame stutters while simply navigating the UI.

On top of that, the battery life has been disappointing. It’s nowhere close to the advertised 30 hours, even with fairly light, everyday use. I even updated to iOS 27 after hearing it fixed many of the issues people experienced on iOS 26.5, but the improvement has been minimal/nonexistent.

Is anyone else experiencing these problems, or does it sound like I may have received a defective device?

Battery seems to discharge more if I haven’t charged in a while

So whenver lets say I havent charged the battery in the last 12-16 hours it disrcharges more. Phone is ip 17 base.

I lost about 6 percent overnight, last night (that may be caused by yesterday’s update to 26.6 PB3) but what worries me is even in usual times if I dont charge my phone for a prolonged time battery drain is really high.

Should I update to ios 26.6 beta?

Am on iphone 17 and have been getting horrendous battery life after 26.5.2. So now wondering if updating to 26.6 beta would be a good idea. I am not considering ios 27 as of now since it is a developer beta and should presumably come with more issues.

Let me know your thoughts on this. Should I risk it and update to the public beta or just wait a few weeks for the stable version?

Question: Did battery after ios 26.5.2 get worse?

Hello, I updated to 26.5.2 a few days ago without thinking much of it on my iphone 17 base 98bh. I really thought it is just another update from 26.5.1 but my SOT dropped to nothing after the update. It has become astronomically shit.

Is anyone facing this? Or am I just super cooked? Using iphones has become a fucking chore at this point. Kindly let me know if 26.5.2 made your battery worse than 26.5.1

Should I update to 26.6 Public Beta or wait it out till the stable release?

Iphone 17 suddenly performing bad

I used to get okay SOT of 6:30 - 8:30 on my iphone 17 base model. But whenever I am outside now or in general 17 has been giving me these shit numbers. Using Apple Devices has become very frustrating now. I have refresh off, AOD off, adaptive on. This may be an ios 26.5.2 issue I don’t know.

I know I didnt get such shit numbers (even on ios 26.5.1) I lost 6% on an hour of reddit before.

Are these battery readings correct?

Few days ago on 23rd June my base iphone 17 98bh wanted to recalibrate the battery and charged up to 100% even though my limit was set at 80%.

Anyway ever since then my Nominal Capacity keeps increasing by a few mah everyday. And it seems kinda fishy to me. Today (not shown in the image) the capacity shows 3584mah on 3utools.

Now if this is the actual reading then thats fine but I just feel like something fishy is going on as it increased by 5 mah exactly the last 3 days. And I get around 7-8h sot on full wifi regardless.

Share your thoughts.

Is my battery fake?

I bought a used iphone 17 and was promised from the trusted seller that the phone was never opened. But recently starting from 23 June battery shows “non genuine” in battery report vcard up until that day it always showed “genuine”. What might be the cause?

Whats the usual backup you get on day to day use?

Hello iphone 17 user here, kinda worried about the condition of my phone. I have a feeling I was dealt a super faulty unit. The youtube vids promote 12 hours of usage I aint getting anything close to that. Get average 7-8 hours of usage on full. Only uses of my phone are Insta, Facebook and the camera sometimes.

Feel free to share the usage you get on full. I might have to sell my phone if my stats seem very bad as no official apple stores in my country that I can get the device looked at.

Is my iphone 17 a dud? Ki

Main question: Are these times normal?

According to battery my phone is at 98bh now but logs show 96.28bh (adjusted). But also need to be mentioned that battery hasnt recalibrated in a while and both readings might be wrong. Only 169 cycles have been completed. I am guessing bh will take another hit after recalibrating.

Is my battery very abnormal? If so I might have to just resell it and get a new one. I dont have official apple stores in my country.

Iphone charging even after 80

I limited my charging to 80, but for some reason it is still charging past it. How do I stop this?

Iphone 17 shows up as iphone 6

I bought an iphone 17 and just thought of hooking it up to 3utools. For some reason the ex factory value only on the model name shows iphone 6, everything else is alright. The serial number shows the correct dates, itunes sees it as an iphone 17 even my apple account sees it as iphone 17.

Is something wrong with my phone or is the software glitching out?

Iphone 17 Facetime issue

This post is about battery drain during facetime.

My phone is at 98bh now and I consistently lose more than 20% battery per hour of facetime or even whatsapp video call on wifi. Get around 4-6h of SOT with LTE which also is pretty bad I think.

Is this a problem with my phone? I have the option to exchange it with another iphone 17 if I want to. What I am trying to find out is whether this is the usual performance of the 17? Will getting a different 17 be any better?
