[Skill Improvement] Need help with my first attempt at team building from scratch (i'm 2W-4L) with this team

Hey,

Pokemon champions is my first VGC experience. I started mid S1. I managed to reach 2000 rating but dropped down to 1750 experimenting alot.

This season I started strong. I used a couple of niche teams built by pro players that were not full of meta mons and looked fun to play and I ended up in Master tier very fast and was 1850 rating this season.

Then I decided to start "team building". I managed to go like 1W-10L trying out various teams to see what works and what doesn't.

My latest team is this mega scarmory and mega venusaur team. I thought they might complement each other.

I did not want to go Basci or Kingambit, so I landed on Hisui samurott as it counters both and can surprise alot of teams.

I really wanted badly to have glimmora in this team as its one of my fav. Min but i didnt know where to place it in the team

Whimsicott is obviously top3 tailwind setter in the fame right now

Garchomp does well with noth Venu and Skarmory I feel.

while incin as a mix of support mon and some offensive coverage.

Scarmory is built to one shot CharizardY with rocktomb if they switch in. I also built it to outspeed bulky Cybertron CharY.

Venusaur is full hp and full special attack. I think it is good into rain teams aslong as I can kill the peliper.

I thought it is a balanced team but so far it has been abit frustrating. I went 2-4. My 2 wins were on the edge of losing. My losses were completely one sided, i lost to Farig Blastoise trickroom twice, I lost to Entraintment Hawlucha once with snorlax and I lost to Whimsicott/Glimmora once.

I wanted to know what changes I could make, should i change out some pokemon or does the concept even work?

[Skill improvement] What has your solution been for the whimsicott+Glimmora CharY meta teams?

The team everyone has been copying. Seems that even again Cybertron has bade another video about it today. I saw another well known VGC contecr creator make another video also today. We might see even more people running it

I faced it 4 times in my last 8 games.

For me I felt that Venu can be a good opener against it. Something like rotom wash and venu can be a safe opener against it. Garchomp does well against it too.

But the team aa a whole has a backline of S tier and A tier pokemon with Basci/Chokp/King/CharY + Whim/Glimmora. It ia full of high win rate mons.

I love glimmora. One of my Fav. mons ever but i have been trying to avoid playing flavor of the season teams.

I thought of Glimmora + Talon as a twist for this team but Whim can always just protect first turn and you get one shot with power gem. If you protect as Talon first turn to bait their protect but they tailwind, you might get prankster encored cuz they priority outspeed you.

I accidently traded my walkingwake for a regular floette, this is not the first time i do such mistake :((((((

I donno what is wrong with me :(

Last time i traded my raging bolt for a regular floette and I was so angry at my self. I did it again. Im devastated.

I made a 2nd floette team and didnt want to disturb my main team. Shouldnt have done it when im not focused.

[I'm new] Is having a single Mega-able Pokémon in a team make it easier for teams to lead against you cuz I am struggling to find a replacement for floette?

hey,,,

I have been running this team from pokeball and i am at mb4 with 1720 rating. I have been mostly playing around Typho as a wincondition. It is extremely high risk and high reward team. I enjoy the playstyle. The issue comes playing against Ttar sand teams(mainly excadril is the biggest issue but other sand teams are difficult too) and blastoise rain teams, so far.

I noticed that I rarely run floette. I have been thinking of replacing her with rotom wash that is offensive and bulky set, it answers a lot of my problems or another option is mega venusaur.

one of the reasons why I did not want to single mega was making it hard for my opponent to guess what my lead would be.

Also I appreciate any ideas on who to replace floette with.

[I'm New] Struggling to grasp how midturn speed changes work

So turns are calculated before the turn right unless some priotity move is used like prankster, +1 moves like quickattack/aquajet/suckerpunch.

But how does speed affect in the middle of the turn? Examples scenarios I wanted you guys to clarify.

1- Mega evolution. I mega evolve at the start of the turn, now I am faster than a pokemon. Do I move before them this turn? or the move order is locked unless a priority move is used.

This scenario below is hurting my brain:

2- Moves like Swift swim, sandrush and slushrush. Let's say I am playing Vs. a Ttar excadril with Ttar is having sandstream. So they lead with Ttar/excadril. Does excadril have max speed turn one even if I let's say prankster sunny day? So canceling sand rush will take affect from turn 2 right? And Turn 3 lets say Ttar megas to have sand again and I sunny day in the same turn predicting. What happens to sand rush when there was sand for a moment in that turn?

[Skill Improvement] Thinking of replacing my Mega Floette with Mega Dragonite(or another pokemon) in my hyper offensive team

I dont have my switch with me, I will write the team down in text. I am at MB4, I went from pokeball to Masterball with this team.

  1. Mega Aerodactyl

  2. Whimsicott

  3. Fragiraf

  4. Kingambit

  5. Hisui Typhlosion.

  6. Floette.

It is a very high risk, high reward team. There is no bulk in it. It is purely offensive natures and stat spreads. I copied this team from one of the top ladder players last season, I made a few changes of my own but the pokemon are the same. I don't think I might peak high with this team but I am having fun so far.

The team feels strong against certain matchups but some matchups feel like an uphil battle. My biggest block seem to be Ttar+excadril sand teams or Blastoise teams so far. New meta glimmora teams and archaludon have given me alot of trouble too but the biggest problem seems to be Ttar teams. Floette was my nuclear option vs. Blastoise teams and it worked but it struggles against Ttar excadril teams imo.

The thing is that I rarely use floette. Maybe 2 out of 10 games. Even when sometimes it is a good floette game I opt to leave her out. Meaning that my 5 other pokemon can manage most matchups. I just want a 6th mon to round the team out.

I was thinking of Mega Dragonite with focus blast for Ttar/Kinggambit, flamethrower, dragon pulse and protect. Are there any other pokemon that can offensively cover my other 5?

How does the "performance bonus" work?

So, I had performance bonus in pokeball in games that I did not feel I performed well. Now in Ultraball, I am on a 4 win streak. I lost 1 pokemon in total in all those games.

How does this mechanic work? is it something that is only in pokeball level?

[Skill Improvement] Is the choice of Psychic or Psyshock on Farigraf purely preferential? It what scenarios is one better than the other?

Farig has 3 option for its main psychic stab. Twinbeam, psyshock or psychich. I understand the choice of twin bean as like dual wingbeat it is a counter to focus sash.

My main question is why some pro players opt for psychic while some opt for Psyshock?

Since it is something you have to decide when making the team and the teams you face are random. So it is not something that you can calculate.

Feeling less optimistic after Florentino's press conferance

I know he was never gonna do it but I was hope an apology to the fans on behalf of the staff and players but his entire press conference showed a huge level of arrogance and narcissisim.

Now I know why his favorite players(the ones he purchased himself) have soo much power. In his eyes, they are perfect and him bragging about how his squad has the most value on transfermarket just feels soo odd.

I don't think the players are gonna be humbled at all. They are gonna get the contracts they want. They will continue with the status quo.

I'm telling you, if Mou manages to do well. It is gonna be a miracle cuz I dont see this group of players give more effort or have any acocuntablity.

Arda and Mbappe had a special connection under Xabi that reminded me of CR7xOzil, Why didn't the club build on that?

I have been looking at our performance at the start of the season. Arda was pulling monstrou assist numbers and had a telepathic connection with Mbappe. It was obvious that Xabi saw that as the win condition for the team.

I wish there was world where they let Xabi cook. The good news is that Mou was the mastermind behind CR7xOzil. I hope he sees this special connection too.

I wish there was a world where we could sell Vini. Build around Arda and Mbappe connection. Get a Doué or Olise type of player.

Before hiring a manager or buying any players, the board needs to take power away from the players

Hiring a manager to control the squad is just a bandaid fix. We need make the squad ready for the new manager.

First descion, make Tbo the captain.

Regarding Vini's renewal. I am gonna be severely disappointed if the club gives him a raise. If he loves the club, he either acceots his current salary or takes a pay cut. Nobody in this sqaud apart from Tbo deserves any raise. He request a 33% increase btw from 20 million to 30 million. The club must not bend over for any player!

The medical staff needs to be changed. It is unreal hoe many injuries we have season after season. I feel some baord member is making big bucks by hiring someone they are linked with.

Sporting descions need to be done by someone who knows ball. I hope it is what Kroos's role going to be.
