Went on a quest to try more croissants, after trying Wayfarer & il giardino di Lilli, Izola still better

Relic is next on the list, everyone keeps mentioning them. This morning I dropped off friends at the airport, then stuck around to take a sunrise picture. Didn’t work out BUT, i got the chance to try these two bakeries.

il giardino di Lilli did have a pretty fire apricot croissant
Wayfarer the peach pastry was sooooo good

So far in my quest:

  1. Izola
  2. Wayfarer
  3. il giardino di Lilli

I shall continue with Relic and many more recs yall gave on my last post

Is the Izola croissant unrivaled?

These are soooo damn good, makes me wonder if there’s another bakery with incredible croissants. I’m all ears

My ancestors will disagree, but perhaps it’s time to go mirrorless

Am I getting old? Am I getting grumpy? Probably both! Every year I head to comic con to take pictures of the cos players. I started with my D3300 and the past 3/4 years I’ve gone down there with my D500 paired with the 24-70 2.8. I walk around a couple hours do my thing. Maybe I’m being a big baby but the set up is starting to get heavy. I tried doing night photography on Saturday night and it was even heavier lol. Love the D500 but for a walk around camera maybe it’s not the best, also there was a big crowd with tight spacing for pictures, mirrorless would help with the compactness. I do a lot of motorcycle photography and action, not ridding of the D500. Should I save up and buy a Z9 and use that for walk around/video? Or should I just get a Z5ii? I used one of those on the Nikon Tour and loved it! These are the pictures I got this year. What yall think?

Got my lion, would’ve been upset if I didn’t get one. Ritz-Carlton Mexico City

I had seen the hotel post their World Cup lion, on their social media accounts. I wanted one so bad haha. They had told me they couldn’t guarantee it because they had low quantities, but they came through. Gf and I are in town for a wedding but also our anniversary is on Monday, so this is a nice surprise. Oh, and a junior suite upgrade, as well as a chocolate heart.

Oigan, que paso con lo de los taxistas, y uber, en el Aeropuerto? How many of you used uber from the airport in the past few days?

Any of you use uber in the past few days, to be picked up from the airport (terminal 2 in particular)? According to the app i can be picked up at door 3 or 4. Or any of you fly in for the world cup and have issues? Thanks!

You guys know where I can find Original Lens Caps for these Binoculars?

A good customer of mine gifted me these binoculars, as we both share love for photography and knows I’ll be getting into wildlife and birding photography. I’d like to buy original caps if possible, saw some on Amazon but they’re pretty cheesy. Is this something I have to look for at a local optics shop? TIA!

For some reason I thought you could see through so I didn’t turn the lights on, oh and Messi watched me brush my teeth

JW LA Live. I was surprised the lounge isn’t 24/7 they shut it down at 11am after breakfast.

My dumbass really thought you could see through the window haha

Celebrated the wifey’s bday, these damn chocolates are sooo good! And so are the strawberries, any special occasion her executive chef (she works for a RC) calls the chef where we’re staying, has this platter waiting for us.

Refs from the World Cup were staying there, it was cool

My first corduroy visor, I dig it!

I purchased this thinking the all-black version was sold out. Then an hour later I realized the black version was available, I figured I’d return this one when the black version arrived. Welp, it arrived and I really dug it. I just need to figure out how to keep it clean! Haha

Lens not focusing wide open, it does focus at a higher aperture. Could this be a lens issue?

Hello all! I've got a Nikon D500, I shoot mainly sports and powersports. I purchased a Tamron 70-200 2.8 G2, brand new, in April of 2021. Looking back, i've always had this issue with it. The lens is not abused, does not have a ton of hours of use.

When i'm shooting wide open, it's focused well in the viewfinder, but when I transfer the pictures...they're out of focus. Bumping to higher aperture, I don't seem to be getting focus issues. I thought it was an issue with my camera, however, when I switch to the Nikkor 24-70 2.8, I don't have this issue, as I can shoot wide open and get good focus.

Should I send it back to tamron for repair/inspection? Or could this be another issue that I can maybe do myself or have a local, certified retailer, fix?

To my East Coast transplants...where's a good bagel place around here? North county preferably, but can be anywhere in the county

Been in San Diego all my life but have only experienced one good bagel place (Inglourious Bagels). I was in Rancho Bernardo yesterday, drove past New York bagels,. figured they'd be great. After all, it's in the name, "New York" bagels. Long story short, they were trash. Had a blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese. It was tough, not great in flavor. I also got a breakfast sandwich on a plain bagel. That had a weird plastic-like taste. Almost like silicone. I was burping that all day. Anyway, i know you east coasters are snobs about bagels, and I also know i will not find anything that comes close to East Coast bagel, however, some recs would be very welcome. TIA!

Anyone in here based out of San Diego, with the Wildpass?

The idea of day trips seems fun, however, looking at the "fly from" lists doesn't give me a lot of hope seeing how most of the flights have to go through Denver. Super long layovers too. Anyone in San Diego have the pass and it's worth it?

Incredible Basque Cheesecake from Cocina Agricola in Escondido

Basque cheesecake was so good! I’d still rank it #2 just behind Saint Bakery’s Basque cheesecake (in Mexico City) that I’ve ever had.
