LR4 not sending notifications
We have a LR4. Both my fiancee and I are logged into the app on our phones, and alerts just won't work. Android.
It was great for months after we got it, but then it just stopped sending any alerts. As per the mfgs instructions we logged out of the app, cleared the cache, uninstalled, reinstalled, and logged back in. This fixes it for about 5 days and the alerts stop working again. We've done this several times and it's the same every time. Any suggestions on how to fix this? It's incredibly frustrating.
Budget summer tires
Picked up a nail so I'll be replacing the stock tires a bit earlier than I was planning. Unfortunately I am getting married in a couple weeks and with all the expenses related to that I'm not in the best place to buy PS4S/PS5 that I see most commonly reccomended. I will if it's really worth it but if I can save $500 and still have satisfactory peformance I'd rather go that route.
I do not track the car but it sees a good amount of spirited driving. Living in Alaska I was always unhappy with the peformance of the stock tires when the temp was below 62 degrees or so. Something that grips better in the 40-60 degree range would be a huge plus.
Currently I'm looking st the Toyo Proxes 2 and Vredestein Ultrac Pros. If anyone has experience with those, or has any other reccomendations I'd appreciate it.
Do you ever have trouble not laughing when ICE drivers complain?
Lately it's been bad. Two days ago I parked next to a C8 Vette and striked up a conversation with the owner. We were talking about power and specs. Since it was a base model C8 its less horsepower and about the same 0-60 time. She said it costs so much to drive right now and asked about mine. I said "about 8-9 cents a mile". It was hard to not laugh at the look she gave me.
A guy came into my store today and ended up ranting about how gas is so expensive, and in the winter it's worse because you have to start your car and let it sit to warm up (it's cold here and last winter was sespicially bad) and it's so much wear on your engine when it's cold because the oil is cold etc etc etc. I'm frowning trying not to smile, nodding, and agreeing how terrible it is.
I don't want come across as smug or mean to these people but damn, I don't even know how much gas costs right now.
Like many I5 owners I picked up a jump starter pack after getting the car, knowing that 12v issues are fairly common with these cars. Being a Costco member naturally Costco was my first choice. I picked up this Type S jump pack for $45.
Many months later I hopped in my car and it was completly dead. No signs of life at all. There had been no previous warning in terms of alerts or anything else. I hooked up this jumper box, the car powered on, threw a bunch of errors, and then turned off.. Tried again a few times, no dice.
What I believe the issue is: this jumper pack automatically turns off when it detects the car is on. I think the I5 turns on the 12v system, which causes the jumper to turn off, and after a delay the car tries to open the relay for the high voltage battery, which it doesn't have enough energy to do since the jumper has already turned off.
I hooked up a larger "dumb" jumper that doesn't turn off until I tell it to, and that worked fine.
So just a FYI to you all.. Not all jumper boxes will actually work. Fortunately Costco let me return it even though it's an electronic item over 90 days old.
