Where can I find clear base-converter or movement tray for my round-squared Dwarves?

Where can I find clear base-converter or movement tray for my round-squared Dwarves?

Got myself some Dwarves for the Old World! Was not a huge fan of the old models (except the Ironbreakers), and really love these models. I kept them on round base so that I could play them as Cities of Sigmar for AoS... Though I guess that's no longer an option. Should have square-based them.

Now that they are like this, do you guys have any recommendation for clear base converter (going from round-to-square), or movement trays that fulfill the same idea? I don't want to paint the converters, so ideally i'd like to have them made of acrylic, or another transparent material.

Any suggestion is welcome! And looking forward to joining the Old World community!

Ritmo Fatale at Virage this Friday — pre-party at mine, 5 min from the club

Hey! 34M here, five of us going on Friday so far (3 guys, 2 girls, 25-35).

I live a 5-min walk from le Virage, between Garibaldi and Porte de St-Ouen, so we're doing a pre-party on my terrace first: 9pm to 11:15pm, a few drinks, then we all head down together for doors.

A few spots left. DM me if you're in, coming as a pair or trio works great too. And if you'd rather meet downstairs than come straight up, just say so :)

Bring whatever you want to drink!

Pre-party Friday before Ritmo Fatale at Virage (Porte de St-Ouen) — a few spots left

(Text in English so everyone can join 😄)
Ritmo Fatale is an electronic music night at Virage, the open-air club at Porte de St-Ouen. Doors at 11:30pm, tickets around €15 online, and it usually sells out.

Five of us are going and I'm opening my terrace beforehand. I live between Garibaldi and Porte de St-Ouen, a 5-minute walk from the club. Plan: 9pm to 11:15pm at mine, a few drinks, music kept low for the neighbours, then we all walk down together. We're 3 guys and 2 girls, between 25 and 35.

Room for 4-5 more, the terrace isn't that big. DM me if you're in — a pair or a trio works great, and coming solo is completely fine. Happy to meet downstairs first if you'd rather, just say so.

Bring whatever you want to drink. You'll need your own ticket.

New player: game looks good, but unsure about miniatures

I've jumped into Dropfleet Commander recently, and love it. I'm a huge fan of Epic-scale games, and I do play a lot of them, but never jumped into Dropzone, mostly because I didn't like the minis.

Don't get me wrong, most miniatures look good and detailed, but the art direction didn't pop out one faction for me. UCM looks closest to what I usually like, but I really, really don't like how their tanks look. The flat appearence and articulated turrets are not for me - and even the dropships, which are cute, are not a home-run in my book.

Then the Resistance looks partially great. Love their tanks, big and small, from the Alexander to the Patton. Even their aircrafts look good, but I hate the "mad-max" style of half the faction. Battle buses, technicals, hovercrafts and drills...

So I'm here looking either 1) to be convinced about the aesthetics of these factions ; since maybe I just don't 'get' yet the flat tank appearence, or 2) to know if it could work to proxy some 3D-printed models to 'fix' the models I don't like, such as Halo's Pelicans or Falcons for dropships, or FSD's Enlisted for some good-looking tanks.

With 3rd edition, I thought it'd be a great time to jump in and do some Battle Reports - but I want to do this with models I love.

Thanks in advance for your tips and advices, and looking forward to joining the community!

From Osaka to Tokyo at the beginning of october - looking for good traditional Onsen

Going to Japan is my childhood dream, and I'll finally go with (and thanks to!) my wife this autumn for my 35th birthday.

We'll arrive in Osaka end of September, and will be ready to move out from Kyoto on October 3rd. Already have plans there - but if you have lesser-known tips for these, we'd love to hear.

Our main question is on our path to Tokyo from Kyoto. We'd like to visit the 'Japanese Alps', and traditional Onsen. We don't mind making a little detour, and for example the Gora Hanaougi Onsen seems amazing - and reasonably priced too.

Are there some must-see Onsen that you know of, that are approximatively on the way between Kyoto to Tokyo ? We don't mind going to Nagano, Hakone and such, but Hokkaido and Kyushu are not options, unfortunately.

We'd like to be in in Tokyo around 9-10th of October, approximately, so some time to travel and see the nature and onsen, but not too much.

We are reasonably athletic, and would enjoy a walk in the nature from one town to another, but cannot handle a full day of climbing in the mountains.

Thanks in advance for your advices!

Chaosless Chaos Warriors as Grail Knights?

First, apologies for the slop in order to change the colour scheme and show what I mean.

I love the new Warriors of Chaos sculpts, but would love to play them (in lore) as Grail Knights. I’d still use the WoC rules.

For those of you who have the kit, how easy is it to remove the most obviously chaotic elements? Some skulls can be painted as relics from saints, but the flayed victims are harder to justify in a Grail force.

Also, would you refuse to play against such a force? Would it kill your immersion?

It’d be my first army in Old World, I want to see what would be the reactions before I buy two starter sets.

Have a few Batallion boxes, want all the Hippogriffs. What next?

The pic of my WiP vehicles are for attention, obviously.

Have an Armageddon batallion, and got my hands on an hold "Cadia Stands" box. Love all the small vehicles of the Guard, as well as the field artillery.

I want 6 Hippogriffs, non-negotiable, they are what finally got me to start Astra (after years of lurking because damn Guard is cool). Love the Centaurs as well, and the Dorns are nice.

I really, really love the realistic/20th century appearence that the Astra went for since 9th edition. The new Sentinels are incredible, and so is the artillery, fire support and such. Just not a huge fan of Krieg aesthetics, specifically the gas mask - not my thing.

Now that we have Force Dispositions that we can tailor to our hearts content, what should I go with ? Tons of small vehicles and Armoured Infantry, since I also love mechanized infantry? Or maybe it is best to go with Steel Hammer and go all-out on vehicles?

What would you recommend to a new Astra Militarum player, knowing that I want as many new vehicles as possible, but don't mind 30-60 infantry alongside. What should I buy?

Thank you for your help!

Can you sell this game to me? I want to love it, really

Long story short, i've been trying to get into the "Age of" hype for a while. I got Age of Wonders 3 and all its DLC, and got an okay time out of it. Didn't play it much beyond a few campaign missions, and some unfinished Skirmish. Was then hyped for Planetfall (Space Dwarves!) but could not get even a full game in.

Recently bought AoW 4, played a few dozen turns in skirmish, then stopped. It did not spark joy. And I'd like to understand why - because this game seems great, and I love strategy games.

Played TONS of Civ 4 in my youth, absolutely adore both Stellaris and Total War (especially Warhammer), played countless RTS (yes, it is different) and also a huge fan of tactical turn based games with a campaign map (X-Com, Chaos Gate, Menace..).

The only game I could never really get in, otherwise, was HoMM ; which I found a bit boring even though beautiful and tacticul.

I'm afraid this is what blocks me in AoW 4. I'm interested in making my own 'typical dwarves' faction (yes, I always play Dwarves), seeing them expand on the map, making RPG decisions during events, sending armies. However, I feel like nothing is happening, the scale is small.

I'm really not trying to insult the game, just giving feedback on my few (unfinished) games.

Tell me why YOU love the game, what I should focus on, what makes it special! Having a Dwarven civilization game seems perfect, the game is beautiful, the tactical aspect seem challenging. Just need to find the "spark" that'll make me fall in love in the game, to "understand" it, and spend hundreds of hours in it!

For now i only have the base game of AoW 4, no DLC, but i'm open to getting a few key ones if needed.
