Who is the individual in this case, me the pleb? Or the non-sot FFL?
In another post people seem to believe that one could take a virgin receiver and create a less 26" OAL "weapon".
Is this the case? Or are form 1s still required before slapping anything on a stripped receiver?
So recently I put a 20lb recoil spring in my 1911 and it got much much smoother to shoot.
Then I had the thought to do it to my mk25.
Has anyone tried those weights? Does it work with standard range ammo or is it too heavy to cycle properly?

Im hoping someone else with this setup can confirm if im an idiot or thats just how it is. The light is cocked to one side of the gun. The right side mount (plastic) is bending a lil bit, the right side switch is up against the trigger guard. Did I install it wrong/too tight? Or is that just the way she goes
So what springs everybody using? I have a completely stock 1911a1 model. Should I get a 18lb or just go for the 20lbs?
Any shops have small parts like recoil springs?

Whats the deal with aluminum grips? Do they send more shock to the hand then g-10? Im trying set the gun up for a lady to shoot but I dont want it to be unpleasant.
Long story short I ordered federal 9mm from a company over a month ago. Call up, they dont have federal and say it'll be in later that week. Call up the following week, they still dont have it but offer me some patriot ammo instead. I say okay.
19 od green less the 1,500 rounds
34 maybe 2,000 rounds
Other 19 less then 1k rounds
How bad is this? The barrels didnt look anything like this before this weekend. I went through all 1k of the patriot and another 200 of federal.
What do? Keep shooting it? Contact company?(wtf are they gunna do). Cut losses and new barrels?
Im a sucker for tge classics, I have 9 glocks and 8 of them are gen 3. If I was gunna build something with only aftermarket stuff, is there something out there that will get me close feel wise?
Bolt is smooth when gun is cold, but gets pretty sticky when its warm or hot. Is this normal? Or do I got a issue?
We need a new vise on the mill at my new job. At my old job we had nothing but kurts. A few of them needed to be tightened up to take the slop out of them from time to time.
Does anyone know if all kurts have that feature or is it only specific models?
