I haven’t had a Ken doll in 25 years but this one came in a TLC lot of Steffie faces so I decided to play around with him. Too bad I don’t have any pants for the poor fella.

I’m calling her, Reasonably Rose.

Made her from a 35th anniversary repro head, Renee Dream Besties body, and rerooted her with 50/50 mauvelous and chromatic pink Saran from Dolly Hair.

The articulation could be better but I’m not paying $100 for the correct MTM body donor, plus I really like the silhouette of DB bodies. I want to cinch her waist a bit so she can fit into Fashion Avenue clothes better, but they’re almost perfect even without. Skirts fit great. And repro Francis’s clothes fit well too, lol.

I was going to repaint her face but maybe another day far in the future.

I love her so much! This is my first IT doll and I have been wanting her a couple years but unsure if I wanted to pay this much for a doll. She’s one of the only dolls that has had me thinking about her nonstop for this long, though, so I decided to go for it.

When I first opened the box I was somewhat underwhelmed. I wish the base doll material was a bit more substantial. But her face up and rooted lashes caught my attention, and IT doesn’t accept returns, so I unboxed her accessories and dressed her up. And I have to say, the act of dressing up a doll immediately after opening her is a great first bonding experience. And it forced me to pay attention to the fine details of her outfit. I really fell in love with her by the end.

She’s such a wonderful doll and it’s a shame she didn’t get more attention, although I guess I’m lucky she didn’t!

I have her on my desk because I want to see her every day, and I’m excited to do some doll photography with her too!

Just bought this and put it together. I bought it hoping it would be fine and then I would order a second one for myself. But, if it was a bit damaged, she wouldn’t notice since she’s only 4, and I wouldn’t get one for myself.

It actually looks great! Everything seemed to be normally packaged and never opened. But, the small awning for the café was missing. Maybe there was a batch where these kept going missing and they discounted those. I’m sure that you could call kidkraft to have them send a new one, but I will just make one out of scrap fabric since it’s such an easy fix.

Overall, I think this is such a cute dollhouse and if you have the room, it would be fun to refurnish it and use it for photos. Or whatever kind of play you’re into!
