Anyone else's spouse act ridiculous when you mention their kid do chores?

Husband broke his leg 2 weeks ago. Since then, I've done EVERYTHING around the house. His daughter, 17, hasn't done anything since they moved in 3 years ago. And I'm an idiot that just let it go on that way. His son, 19, lived here too until recently, and would maybe take out the trash.

The deal we had going was I would cook, he would do dishes. Now his leg is broke and he can't help with anything. I FINALLY snapped tonight. After 3 years of rarely mentioning needing help (again, stupid, I know).

I said "Can you please talk to the kids about helping me around here? I'm exhausted. I can't keep on like this. Especially now that I'm working 10 hour days.". I went back to work after being home 2 weeks after his accident.

He said "Yeah" then just sat there, not saying anything. So I told him "and I want you to actually enforce it this time. You told 17 to clean her bathroom regularly and she did it once and never again".

So what does his stupid butt do? Get up and gimp to the sink to wash the two pans that I had already rinsed out. He didn't say another word.

How would you *politely* explain to your husband that you don't want to watch TV with his kids?

SS19 comes over EVERY Monday. He lives with BM. SD17 is here every other day. I don't particularly like being around SS because things got weird when he did a bunch of drugs and I told his dad he couldn't live here anymore (I have a son I need to protect). He knows I'm the one behind it, so he rarely acknowledges me, I rarely acknowledge him.

When he's here, I go lay on my bed and watch TV. It never fails, my husband comes in here and asks me what's wrong. I usually say I have a headache (which is true most of the time, I suffer from chronic headaches). But he knows I'll go sit in there and hang out if it's just SD. HE KNOWS. So I figure he's gonna keep asking me until I finally get mean enough to admit his son is the reason.

I'm at the point of politely telling him that I would rather watch what I want on the TV in our room, where I can lay down and it's quiet.

That's not mean, right?

Have you ever had to use FMLA to take care of your spouse?

I'm in Tx.

My spouse had a work accident resulting in severe lower back strain, a broken right leg (in a cast), possible torn tendons in ankle and knee (waiting for MRI.

It's workman's comp. He has a lot of appointments, can't drive, can barely walk (I push him in a wheelchair). This happened Tuesday.

I was going to go back to work Monday but that seems impossible. He can't do for himself. Could I take FMLA? I have 480 FMLA hours at work (never used it, been there 12 years). I'm seriously considering it. I work in healthcare, so it might cause some strain on my dept but I don't know what else to do.

Just had to sell my tickets to the first time I would be seeing them.

I wanna cry. I've loved them since I was a young teen (almost 30 years ago). They are one of my bucket list bands. I never had the money or chance to see them. I finally was able to afford the tickets, had it planned, got the hotel.

My husband fell off a ladder and broke his leg this week. May have to have surgery. Can't move around, he is dependent on me right now. I know it isn't his fault but I'm so so sad. The show we were gonna go to is in like 2 weeks.

I put my tickets up for resale. There is just no way I can make it.

Do you pay for your SK's takeout?

My SD17 wants drive thru for dinner tonight and her dad is currently incapacitated due to a recent injury. I was all for making food here, but I'm not hungry myself. She said she wants drive thru. I have $, but don't get paid until next week and I like to keep a minimum amount in my checking, which is quickly approaching.

We have separate bank accounts.

I feel weird asking him for his card to buy them food. I know it's a silly thing to be weird about, but I NEVER ask him for his card, I usually pay for whatever. I make quite a bit more than him. But I overspent this payday... Not to mention the full tank of gas I used yesterday to pick him up from his out of town job when he was injured. $50!!!

I will use whatever pronoun you ask me to, without any issues, BUT

I think non binary pronouns as a gender identifier are ridiculous. To be fair, I think genders as a whole are dumb.

I know a person. Feminine name. Wears feminine makeup. Wears feminine clothing.

Gets mad when customers call them "her".

Wtf cares? It's what you're presented as, you can't get pissed that's what people call you. Grow up.

I guess I'm only allowed to cook and clean?

Just venting.

I'm pretty pissed right now. I have always been a very independent person. If I want something done and it doesn't get done by the person I asked (my husband), I'll figure it out and do it myself.

Case in point: Our pool got filthy and green after a week of rain. Even though my husband is pool certified, he was dragging ass on getting it back to usable. So I talked to my coworker that has the same kind of pool/filter. Her pool is always immaculate. Her husband walked me through exactly what I needed to do, which included backwashing the sand filter. I put the correct chemicals in and let them work overnight. This morning I went out and backwashed and rinsed it.

When he got home for lunch, I excitedly told him what I did. I was met with "Yes. I know how to backlash the filter" like I was an idiot. When I explained it really needed it, he got even more annoyed and said it wasn't time to do it yet. Then I calmly explained the water was BROWN and gooey.

Now I'm getting the cold shoulder. He takes it so personally when I do something I've asked him to do and he hasn't done yet. God forbid I do something in his range. I guess I should just cook and clean and stay in my lane.

(That's not gonna happen, btw)

What other moves can I make to curb/stop my spending and pay off cc debt?

I deleted all of my online shopping apps. I removed all credit cards as a payment source for groceries online. I've designed a way to pay off my smaller balance credit cards so I can work towards tackling the larger ones. If all goes well, I can have my credit card debt paid off by November. I get an incentive bonus around that time.

It's about $6500 as of right now. I bring home $4400/mo. Household costs of about $3,000 (car, mortgage, childcare, utilities).

Would Affirm payment plan allow a membership renewal from a business?

I signed up for a 3 month plan for GLP-1. I am paying for it through Affirm monthly payments. Total was $450.

I didn't realize it will auto-renew after 3 months. Since I'm on a payment plan for the initial order, can the company charge my Affirm again without me signing a payment plan agreement with Affirm?

11 year old has arms bound up in blankets over his head almost all of the time.

I know he has high sensory needs. He will find his arms up over his head with a weighted blanket, and have another heavy blanket on top of that. He also wears these donut-ish pillows on his wrists. He literally looks like the character from Labyrinth with the junk on his back.

The problem is, if I take it off, a massive self injurious meltdown will occur. He will punch himself rapidly with both hands on the side of his head. He will bang his head into the floor. He will kick his kneecaps. He's covered in bruises just from having to change his shirt for summer school this week. Bathing him is impossible... I've taken to doing sponge baths and washing his hands under the blanket.

He won't hardly eat or drink because it requires him to take his hands out of the blankets. I don't know what to do. He started this in 2022 with just a blanket and a helmet. It's progressively gotten worse with no end in sight. Please, does anyone else have any experience even remotely close to this?

Husband upset that I virtually disappear the second his kids are here.

One is 19, lives full time with BM, but comes over every time he's off work. Stays for about 5 hrs. Pretty much every other day. The younger one is 17 and if it's just her, I can tolerate being in the living room. She's also here every other day (that's their ridiculous custody schedule).

They stay in the living room for 5 hours straight. Neither teen does anything else the entire time. My husband expects me to sit in there with them and engage. I can't. The kids talk in this weird baby voice to the cats and each other for full conversations and it makes my ears bleed. They go on and on about their mom and I can't stand her. I don't wanna hear that. I kicked the son out a few months ago for doing drugs. I know he blames me so he doesn't say much when I am sitting in there and it's awkward.

More so than anything, I JUST DONT WANT TO. I told my husband as much. Now he's upset, his feelings are hurt (and that's valid) and he's sleeping on the couch.

I know I'm the adult, but what do you do when you don't want to be around one of your stepkids?

Do energy drinks help with the first few weeks fatigue?

It's killin' me, guys.

I work in healthcare so falling asleep is out of the question. But I find myself sooo tired. Even after 7 hrs of sleep. I used to drink coffee, but I can't seem to drink a whole cup.

Does anyone else drink energy drinks like Celsius/Alani/Amino Energy?

Has anyone else used Trinity Meds 3 month program?

Update: I got an email back saying I was right to flag it and that they incorrectly wrote the prescription and are expediting my case to get my other vials sent to me.

I signed up for the 3 month program for $435. My dose is 2.5 mg.

I received my shipment from Evoluciona Pharmacy, but it only contained one 2mL vial. I went to my prescription page on Trinity and saw that the prescription they sent over was for one 2 mL vial/no refills.

Does anyone know if the prescription gets sent each month?

Stepkids brought disordered eating into my home, so now I'm trying Zepbound.

I'm 40. 5'8, 172 lbs. I wear a large/13 US. I have a gluten sensitivity that makes me bloat like crazy so sometimes I look pregnant. I am the mother of a severely autistic child so going to the gym is out of the question. I'm too exhausted from taking care of him. When I do get free time, I wanna relax/sleep.

My SD (17) is super thin. I hear her complain about gaining weight and she often times doesn't eat. Her mother has suffered from eating disorders for over 2 decades and now her daughter is neurotic. They're both so insanely thin. My SS (18) got on Adderall to get thin bc that's what their mom did. Now he's bone thin.

My husband has no idea I'm doing weight loss shots. I brought it up and he's worried about the side effects. I have always been around 165-170. I didn't have a terrible issue with it. But now, all I can think about is how much larger I am than everyone else. I'm the only fat one out of the two families.

I'm not looking for advice. I'm just sad I resorted to this...

My dry mouth drops cause me diarrhea.

I have chronic dry mouth due to medication. It makes my breath smell atrocious. So I got some Biotene dry mouth lozenges. I usually have constipation issues ... Lately it's been the opposite.

So I can either have porta potty breath or be on the brink of shitting myself.

Why do I sometimes get a bead of blood on the skin where I stick?

New to drawing labs. I wrote here a few months ago about overcoming a venipuncture phobia bc my job requires me to draw labs now.

I've noticed a few times when I stick, a little bead of blood shows up kind of on top of the needle. I'll be honest, I stick pretty slow right now. Could that be why? I'm not blowing veins or anything, and I get the stick, but it's happened more than a few times.

Any ideas?
