Is 40m enough?

Hello all. Recently begun climbing and looking to buy my first set of gear. I’m looking to save a few bucks and I see that a 40m rope is much less expensive than a 60m, obviously at the cost of length. So far I’m only climbing a 30ft man made outdoor rock but might be interested in taking trips to crags one day. Thanks!

posture fix?

Hey everyone. Apparently i have anterior pelvic tilt (just according to what I’ve seen, I need to speak with a physician). For a long time I’ve thought I have belly fat left over but I’m very thin, and it’s ruining my self image. I play soccer and rock climb which can’t help, same with playing video games and sleeping on my stomach. Are there any good stretches I can spend a few minutes doing and some stuff I can do throughout the day as habits? Gonna try sleeping on my back with a pillow under the knees since I’ve heard that helps. Thanks everyone!

Best class for beginners?

I’m brand new to souls-like-ish games and really to melee combat as a whole (I’m much more used to competitive shooter games), I tried WK (greatsword) because it’s my favorite aesthetically and conceptually, they’re just badass. I’m finding it really rough though and I’m looking for a more beginner-friendly class to ease into the genre. Any recommendations? I’m gonna try out Shadowstrix but any other input is appreciated. Thanks!

Auction system is goated

On my first round of the day I died and lost everything so, since I’m early game, I sold some of my items I don’t need yet and was able to buy way better gear than I had before via the house. This game is so cool

This game is amazing

Just downloaded tonight and hopped into a couple matches. Rocking withered knight and absolutely destroyed some people in pvp, looted and fought a bunch of NPC’s, and had fun.
Me approved 👍

Electric Motor Drive

Hello all! Wanted to share my findings on a new self-propulsion method… electric motors! The design uses an orientation of powerful magnets connected to a hub to provide power to a vehicle, enjoy! Much more compact than an engine, and magnet power can be tweaked to traverse terrain!

Lifting suggestions?

Hey everyone! I have recently found myself in the bouldering community (other than going a few times a year for the last while) and I’m buying a bouldering gym membership with my first paycheck tomorrow. I’ve been lifting for a while but decided I want to focus more on building g “climbing fitness”, and being able to move my body weight efficiently. What are some good lifting workouts I can begin to look at for this purpose?
P.S. does leg press help at all? It’s one of my favorite lifts since it almost feels like ego lifting with how much I can do lmao

Thanks!

Edit: for a fitness baseline- at 16 I can perform 10 solid chest-to-bar neutral grip pull ups, do archer push ups, and can tackle a few routes at my outdoor boulder despite being newer to climbing and lifting for around a year

Electric motor weirdness

So I figured out how to make an “electric motor” styled drive for a vehicle. I made a gearbox to give it a bit more torque and added a wheel. I stabilized it with gyros so that it wouldn’t twist itself but it drives extremely towards the left? Whenever it catches on the train tracks it goes straight as an arrow though. Any help would be appreciated.

Why do skins carry over but not guns?

I used to play all the time on my dad’s Xbox and grinded probably all of the guns/attachments and about 90% of the game’s cosmetics. Recently I downloaded bf2 on my pc but only my cosmetics carried over, does anyone know the reason for this? It’s super frustrating!

Engineering Running Start

Hello all! UW is my dream school (specifically the A&A engineering program) and I begin Running Start at Pierce for engineering this summer and throughout my junior/senior years (currently a sophomore). Is this a good move for getting into the engineering school? I have a 3.9 uwGPA and like a 4.2 wGPA, FIRST robotics, and all that kind of stuff. Our district’s college advisor strongly protests against running start but it seems like a smart choice for getting a head start on some pre-reqs. Thanks for your time!

Why didn’t they make the CSM already docked properly to the LM at launch?

This seems like a bit of a silly question but my father and I are watching the Apollo 11 documentary on Netflix and they just covered the part where the two craft separated and docked together while traveling to the moon and it seemed odd to us that that was necessary to the mission. Thanks for any answers!

Desk-based arduino cubesat concept

I’m trying to build up a portfolio for university admissions and I want to build a little arduino-powered cubesat concept. I have an elegoo r3 kit, poor coding skills, and access to machining and 3d printers. I don’t exactly have a big budget and would like to keep it under a hundred bucks (?) I have a soldering iron as well :)
How can I make this happen and what are some good resources to learn how to make one? Thanks!!

Becoming an Aerospace Engineering Student

Hey everyone! It’s my dream to work on satellites or space stations one day and I’m going into a Running Start program soon to earn my associates in engineering (program combines aero with mechanical and civil I think), planning to transfer to a 4-year to work on my bachelors and then a higher degree hopefully. I’m at the end of my sophomore year taking 4 AP classes (including precalc and physics) half A’s half A-. Should end the term with a total gpa of 3.87. Do you guys think I have a shot at being a competitive choice for engineering schools? Lots of words to ask that I guess, many thanks!

My top 2 choices currently are the University of Washington and UC San Diego but any school ideas are appreciated too!

I’ve tried to look into requirements but it’s all super confusing

Mun station docking

Hey everyone I’m back again! I decided to construct a mun space station and it’s going not well. First module got in munar orbit perfectly but I tried getting a second module in and I can’t for the life of me get a good intercept and dock (given I just learned manual docking from the tutorial today and mechjeb isn’t progressed enough). Jeb’s life is on the line

Attached is a photo of the core, I don’t have any photos of the module yet but I can add them

How can I make this launch stable

Tryna launch this station to grind science for my save but it refuses to launch. I have some of the near future mods and b9 along with like half the tree (most rocket stuff)

u/astro_eng_dude — 3 months ago

So basically I joined because goalkeeping looked cool and fun, so I got some training sessions and really enjoyed it. In March I got on my high schools team and practices were fun until we got to our first games. Letting goals in absolutely sucks and I hate how lonely it gets at the back of the field. It’s kind of driving me away from a sport that i love and I don’t know if I’m prepared to come back for another season. Can I get an opinion from anyone? Thanks

Sorry to be that guy but I’m so nervous 😭
I’m trying not to concern myself with cramming too much out of avoiding stress but I’m looking at *maybe* a 3 or 4 if I clutch. I wanna be a rocket scientist so this matters a ton lmao- good luck guys 27 hours and 38 minutes!
