Wounded dog about to get shot
[ Karachi ] there’s this stray dog who, for the past couple of weeks has been resting in our flats stairs in the corridor.
This isn’t normal at all because we do not get dogs inside the flat and it’s very unusual for us. No hate to her though, she’s very lovable. But something about her didn’t feel so right. Initially I thought she is resting in shade because of the heatwave because she is often found sleeping on the stairs.
But recently, I’ve noticed she has this really awful stench coming from her. And she doesn’t respond except for whining. She won’t budge from her spot, won’t eat or drink. The flat residents are quite bothered by her, they throw stones are her to make her go away but she would come back again the next day.
Today, when I came back from work, I noticed drops of blood. And the stench was so bad I nearly threw up. Upon closer inspection, I noticed she has a massive open wound, her flesh all out, infested with maggots. I obviously panicked and went inside my house. I previously informed RPK about her but like always, they don’t bother. I contacted ACF and shared a video with them as well, received no response.
But the actual problem started when my dad went out after her with a gun. He explicitly said “I’ll shoot her, we can’t have her in the apartment, it’ll infect us all” I couldn’t bear the thought of my dad mercilessly killing an innocent animal in pain. She deserves to be treated. I cried and threw a tantrum and thankfully the apartment residents came to stop him from committing the act however, I don’t trust him. Because if she keeps coming back and her condition worsens, my dad would at some point kill her when I’m not around.
Therefore, I need help. If there’s any organization that can come over and take her away, it would be amazing!
