I would love to take a solo trip but I’m terrified of everything. I don’t trust people and in general just scared I won’t have a good time because I don’t know what I’m doing. Even with all the preparation I the world, how do I not be afraid someone will try to hurt me? I recently saw the movie Apex with Charlize Theron. It didn’t help.

I’m a former teacher who would like to meet new people and form friendships. I’m from Texas and just left teaching and am feeling a bit lost. Trying to figure out where to go from here. I’m married and have two grown sons who are about to leave home. I’ll be an empty nester soon.
