Do you have any classical pieces that make one feel smart like a professor. Preferably baroque or renaissance?

Any renaissance or baroque pieces that literally just strike the intellectual mode within a person?

Found Ortho Christian icon online. Meaning?

It certainly isn’t intended to trick someone into converting like messianic Judaism, or to proselytise, it’s just an orthodox Christian creation that I’m not sure about as I’m not orthodox

TIL That Messianic Judaism, a syncretic Jewish and Evangelical Christian faith says their seal, a fish intertwined with a Star of David and Menorah was created by early Jesus followers and in a baptismal grotto in Mount Zion, and was found in the 90’s and provided by a hermit monk named Tech Otecus.

Classical songs that sound like literal torture

I’m not counting the songs that are just sad but I’m talking ones that feel like historical pain and suffering. I’m writing a book that involves a character losing all they love and I need some background music that is just completely dejecting and heartbreaking.

If Amy loves cigs how would the show go

Would Robert be angry and return to his NBA career, or would Raymond go back in and accidentally kick a rock sending everyone back to the Bronze Age where there was constant battling and danger and would only retune back in time when he proved his strength against the great Bambino?

Is there any stuff here that is still medieval?

I am Jewish and obviously I don’t mean Medieval Antisemitism, but I’m asking if there are like medieval vestiges within the Catholic Church or beautiful things I can come see within your beautiful religion that seem medieval, not for the novelty but just to see the beauty of you honoring your God. Our Lord in heaven.

Thank you,

Peace be with all who read :)

I feel bad for loving the Middle Ages

I think that the Middle Ages are extremely interesting and am obsessed with reading and learning about it. I love the vibe of that form of history and am just utterly shocked though about how antisemitic it is. I hate antisemitism, nowadays are getting harder, especially going from being observant to now being less observant, being raised in an interfaith family where my Jewish mother has now unknowingly left Judaism.

Now, yes, Castles, cathedral, Catholicism, Early Medieval Paganism, and Orthodox Christianity, knights and war hammers, Carolignians, Byzantines (Eastern Romans, as they were called in their hayday), and kings are absolutely badass. But I always feel terrible about antisemitism.

I feel guilty for liking it.

Now all the Catholics I know now aren’t antisemites and I’ve even attended a couple masses, Catholicism (modern) is not antisemitic, it’s just an unusual cousin of the Jewish religion. But I can’t help but looking at olden times and seeing how awful the Catholic Church of old has been to not only us but so many others

Should I genuinely feel guilty for loving the history Middle Ages?

Of course the events and actions of medieval times are not moral, and I absolutely detest anything about crusades (will be watching the movie Kingdom of Heaven, though, as it looks kind of cool), but I do like old Scottish, Celtic, and Germanic bard music, Byzantine Chants, and that kind of thing.

Is this just weird? Should I feel guilty?

Is Medieval Mindset a good YouTube channel just for fun

I don’t think he is like a registered and degree carrying historian, but he is extremely fun to watch. When I watch him, am I getting good medieval history, or no?

Someone crossposted a post I made to a sub I was bаnned in with an old account? Is this ban evasion?

Am I going to be taken away from Reddit due to this? I had a question, and someone thought it fit in another sub and commented that. Then, they cross posted it there. Am I going to accidentally get flagged for evasion?
