Monarch mocs in the wild
Love these things. Gonna ditch the kilties for a while, though. As theSelector sang, too much pressure! Ha ha.

What would be an appropriate lace length for the Ridgeline? Also if someone could help me as I have a visual impairment, what is the eye and hook configuration? Four eyes three hooks? Four eyes two hooks? Would appreciate the help.
I can’t remember the last time a piece of footwear brought me this much joy. I seriously love these things. I wear them three times a week at work and have worn them all over my beach town. The cleaning and conditioning was premature as I think I’ve only had them a month, but either I spilled something on them or walked into something that stained both boots. I got most of it off with the exception of a dot on my left toe and if you lines on the side of the right toe box. Either way, I’m chalking it up to patina.
Was hoping to get one more round of info on the Sierra from you all. I’ve been reading conflicting opinions about it’s wearability on asphalt and concrete. Do you find it wears down faster in these conditions? Some comments on Reddit say it’s best use is for hiking purposes, others say it’s a great jack of all trades.
I don’t necessarily plan to go hiking with these soles, but I do plan to wear them in various terrains like smooth concrete to dirt sidewalks.
Kind of a shit post, but I am so hyped. I found a dude near me that carries the elvis and/or various types of skins for wedge soles boots, and even the Sierra. Hopefully this means I can just replace the bottom part until I truly need a real resole or want to change things up a bit. My nicks have already paid for themselves in comfort, but now I’ll be able to prolong any serious work until absolutely necessary.
What has been your experience on various terrains? Are they truly like ice skates in the cold or on wet ground? I am working on a new build for what maybe my last pair for a minute. My favorite nicks boot is the wedge work and they are offering this outsole on the quick ship page. Being visually impaired, stability and good footing is very important as I don’t want to be on my ass ha ha
Another option is the urban drifter on a fire and ice sole. But I am not as fond of a heel as others.
Specifically, the thrash essentials playlist. I wonder if they just had AI curated by taking most popular songs from artist associated with rash, but there is a lot of non-thrash songs on there. What comes to mine is songs by skeleton witch after they kicked out the lead singer or some slower power metal stuff by metal church.
Excuse the crappy picture, I am limited to how good or bad my vision is each day. That being said, even a blind man can see how beautiful this leather is. 64 Brown is gorgeous for a work leather! In hand, they give a reddish tone. I think this leather is gonna scratch the red dog itch. They are a wedge work on a brown nick wedge. The fit is spot on compared to my mocs, which that fit isn’t bad either.
The only issue I’m having with these is the left boobt sock liner ends right before some skiving is done on the leather foot bed. In result, there is a dip or indent right after the sock liner ends. Hopefully it will fill itself in as the footbed compresses. Otherwise, I’m sure customer service will help me out with a repair under warranty if needed.
I’m asking $450 shipped in the USA. I’m not above negotiating though.
Really cool boots and Frank’s customer service was a pleasure to deal with, but these flat out don’t fit. They are a bit wider and roomy than my nicks in the same size and last. I’ve worn them outside once to confirm and was pretty miserable the whole time. So, off they go to a better home! Comes an original box with a boatload of laces.
Here is my grailed listing with seller review
It feels like there is a hole where the sock liner ends in the insole begins. Has anybody had this before? I can’t really see it going away on its own with compression. But maybe you guys experience could let me know. I sent the same picture to customer service but I wanted to see others opinions first since they probably won’t get back to me until Tuesday.
Visually impaired and can’t tell the difference between the two
I live in a small town and do a lot of walking and public transit. For this reason, a wedge is might go to sole. Lately I’ve been really curious about a honey lug or even a fire and ice sole. How comfortable is the leather heel stack and heel cap on sidewalks and other hard surfaces? I am a hnw last guy, so it will be a block Heel in my case. I have not worn a boot with a heel and sometime now.
I saw this in a YouTube video and read a few people’s experiences with this type of lace, causing premature wear on the hardware. Has this been your experience?
I’m asking 500 shipped in the USA.
Only tried on never worn outside. I much prefer the fit of my other PNW boots. These are in all smooth walnut leather with a black crêpe outsole by Vibram.

You know how you run the laces through the back of the false tongue? When you lace in the false tongue, does the back of it where the lace is ran through indent or even start to wear a hole into the top of the vamp?
Was just curious as I’ve never used boots with false tongues before.
Apologies as I know some people hate this kind of post but was wondering if I could get some feedback on my toe placement. Thank you in advance. These are on my monarch mocs.
I have been a strictly punk guy for the majority of my life, in regards to rock music. As of lately, I’ve been getting into thrash. This had me thinking, is suicidal tendencies the only successful straight up punk band that crossovered into metal? In the American hardcore book, a few bands were mentioned as failing at this. Specifically gangrene. What are your thoughts on punk bands that crossed over into metal and your thoughts on metal overall?
I’ve always been a hip-hop and punk rock guy. It’s pretty easy to find modern hip-hop that still fills the void, but I find less and less regarding punk. On top of that my favorite style of punk rock is hardcore punk, not to be confused with hardcore. This is where thrash comes in. Got into municipal waste and then the big four and this has led me to open my ears to various versions of thrash. I still wouldn’t consider myself a metal head, but definitely very much into thrash now. What about you guys?
I am not a fan of the false tongues. Not hating, just not my thing. But I understand one of its purposes is to protect the sewn in tongue from getting holes over time. That being said, if I continue to not use the false tongues, and I wear a hole into the sewn in tongues, could the tongues be replaced during a rebuild?
