Calculating Kimis Lead (Luck Balanced attempt)

I see post after post after post saying "Kimi will be in the lead without George's bad luck and without his good luck". I agree and i think 99% of people believe that.

But by how much?

I see comments ranging from 0 to as high as 75 points. All confidence but no evidence.

Everyone knows Kimi has overall been faster, but made a few small errors. While George has barely put a foot wrong but lacked pace.

This is my attempt at a neutral luck calculation(Obviously i know it's unrealistic with 0 failures/luck). But here we go:

Australia:
Kimis FP3 crash doesn't get bailed out by Max Q1 red flag. Starts back of grid at Albert Park. In the end, he climbs back to P4 behind both Ferraris. 15s off Russell. GR25, KA12

China:
George's car dosn't stop in quali. He gets 2 attempts and continues topping all sessions. He gets no deploy issues during race. GR25, KA18

Japan:
Without the starting problems, Kimi doesn't fall back, no need for lucky perfect safety car timing. If kimi has no start problems, assume the same for Rus and he stays behind. Merc 1-2. A racey piastri slots in 3rd. KA25, GR18

Miami:
Mclaren were the best and Kimi was somewhat lucky Mclaren fumbled and allowed the quicker Lando to get undercut. But let's give it to Kimi. KA25, GR12

Canada:
Neck and neck all race. But George won sprint, edged pole and was leading when his car failed. Let's give George this. GR25, KA18

Monaco:
Could P2 Max have done heroics into Sainte Devote if his car didn't fail at the start? nobody knows. But this goes to Kimi and Geroge takes P3 without FIA pitlane blunder. KA25, GR15

Barcelona:
Both mercs got unlucky with SC timing, who knows if they could've teamed up to hold Lewis back. But I'd guess not. Without mech failure. KA18, GR15

Austria:
Start of 4 races where Geroge complains about PU straight line issues against what Toto says. Kimi and GR unaffected by quali yellow and Kimi starts p2 instead(as much as this was a GR masterstroke). Kimi had more pace and overtakes George in the race. KA25, GR18

Silverstone:
Kimi was on track to win. George got very unlucky, then very lucky. Without issues George finishes behind Lewis. KA25, GR12

Belgium:
Assume no deploy issues and GR doesn't get rear right wheeled by Lewis. With merc pace, Geroge is likely 3rd. KA25, GR15

Hungary:
Assume no start engine issue for George, but he only ends 1 place higher. Ahead of hadjar and behind ferraris KA15, GR8

Zandvoort:
Team looks biased against Russell but honestly no controversy for me. KA18, GR15

Monza:
Kimi was #blessed. Perfect timing red flag. Perfect timing vsc in the middle. The only one with 2 new mediums to perfectly match this scenario due to new PU. LH giving up at T1, max fighting only Russell. Russell losing 3s to checo. Perfect storm of good luck for Kimi. Without those, Kimi would still be flying. He gets by everyone except George, exceeding Merc forecast of fringes of podium. GR25, KA18

Madring:
Another Mclaren mess up and perfect VSC timing for Kimi. Kimi also lucky that Max illegally overtook a car behind Kimi while being ahead of Kimi. Getting a free position at a track you can't pass. But i guess he gets Max back through pit stops. GR was flying, but might not have gotten past Charles despite being much faster. KA18, GR10

Baku:
Messy off-weekend for KA. GR nearly loses win from unlucky SC timing and bottas crash at the end but somehow holds on. Kimi got lucky with the SC timings and 3 cars ahead of him taking each other out and both mclarens pulling a lewis2021. He finishes p7. Not p10 when some people try to subtract the 5 'free' positions he gained. GR25, KA6

Sepang:
Eventful but predictable outcome without failures. KA18, GR15

Main Race Total is:

KA: 309
GR: 278

Kimi leads by 31 points from main races.

Add in the sprints: KA26, GR34

Drumroll..... KIMI LEADS BY 23 POINTS

  1. KA 335
  2. GR 312

Now that your mom has balls:

Kimi's points went up a little, but George's points went up a lot without luck/issues.

But tell me which race breakdown you'd disagree with and how the points tally.

Remember i didn't always include mech failure of others that helped. E.g. Leclerc failure gave GR P3 in monaco while Piastri retirement in Hungary would've helped KA more than GR. Among others. So it's changeable

"Perez came out of the pits in front of me, I was +4s on the delta", George Russell in cooldown room

George said this in the cooldown room. It means his gap after VSC should have started 4 seconds bigger to Kimi.

Another case of bad luck/team incompetence is what screwed Russell over again. 4 seconds more means Kimi might not have caught him by the end of the race. Or Kimi's one attempt could've been butchered by going on to the marbles and gravel.

Ultimately noone knows what would've happened, but 4s could've made a difference.

Either way, another case of bad luck for Russell outside his control. (or bad comms from his engineer not to tell him to speed up)

Is 67 year old John Mcenroe still a 5.5?

67 year old grandpa still served over 107mph with reflexes of a cat, returning Roddicks 120mph serves and playing instant reaction volleys with great touch.

Sure he probably can't run too much, but is he still a 5.5? Or is he even higher?

Kimi 05 vs George 26 Who was unluckier overall?

Both had extraordinary streaks of horrible luck as championship contenders

Who was unluckier per race? And who was unluckier overall?

Why do so many people shit on TDKR?

I remember watching it in cinema and being utterly blown away with the conclusion back in 2012. And then i watched it twice more in cinemas. It closed all the important loops and gave a satisfying conclusion to the story.

On rewatch it's still pretty great. Not as legendary as the dark knight, but still a really really good film i'd happily rewatch.

The people i know who watched it also all enjoyed it.

But on reddit it seems to be one of Nolans most poorly rated movies, with many saying it's just good or decent(7/10 kind of movie). And some even saying they did not enjoy it.

For me it's still an amazing 9.5/10 movie along with interstellar (TDK, Inception, The Prestige at 10/10 for me). Considering the fact it had the difficult task of tying up a conclusion, I still rate it very very highly.

What do you all think of TDKR now and what rating do you give it out of 10

Those who attended NDP 2026, how did you find it?

https://www.reddit.com/r/askSingapore/comments/1v48hpd/is_it_true_that_this_years_ndp_sucks/

I'd heard bad things about NDP due to venue change this year and went in with low expectations. But I must say i came out pleasantly surprised and impressed. Would be happy to attend future shows in an enclosed national stadium before NS square is ready.

Pros:

-World class level drone show with aerial singing performance. This was the highlight and standout of the show

-Made good use of the enclosed stadiums features and hanging cubes

-Several visually stunning night time acts

-Mascots lived up to the hype

-Very good crowd control, ushering etc

Cons:

-Everything addressed earlier (no standard elements of red lions, planes, big fireworks etc)

-It gets very smoky inside and takes a long time to clear (It was practically PSI300 inside the enclosed stadium for a good 20mins of the show)

-I believe some sections had a very bad view

Overall, great show, and very pleasantly surprised. Also Chan Chun Sing acted as president today and was surprised by the deafening cheers he received

Is it true that this years NDP sucks?

I'm asking from an attendee point of view, as i finally got tickets this year

For those that went to NE show, is it true this years parade is underwhelming? Due to enclosed stadium limitations?

No red lions, no planes, no military vehicles, no boats, barely any fireworks?

I heard the torturous part is you can hear fireworks outside but you can only see a little bit through the small stadium gap?

Best Movie theatre in Singapore?

With release of the next Nolan blockbuster, let us know where you can get the best experience? Be it Singapore or even JB? Specifically which location and which hall, and roughly which seats if possible? Mine is Shaw Lido Hall 1, middle section (previously lido hall 4 before renovation)

Imax in Singapore is liemax(but my understanding is it's still a little better in terms of sound and screen aspect ratio, but not actually better resolution), the closest authentic 70mm to singapore is in melbourne, of which there are less than 50 cinemas around the world in that format.

Anyone else thinks Lau Pa Sat is actually good?

I’m going against the grain here but I think the variety and quality there is generally pretty good. Sure the prices are higher but not exorbitantly so either.

But compared to restaurants in the area, it’s not so bad also

Unpopular Opinion: 55 GS Semis is Djokovics most impressive stat

I’d also argue 38 grand slam finals is a more impressive stat than 24 grand slam wins.

Consistency in getting far so often is much more impressive than the occasional win breakthroughs.

That’s nearly 14 years of grand slam semi finals. Which for me is the second most impressive record after the untouchable 14 Roland Garros by Nadal

Heat is back after taking a 3 week break, what temperature is your aircon?

Yesterday almost 30c at midnight again. Are we back to scorching El Niño weather?

Why are people saying George had good luck in Austria and Kimi bad luck??

Everything was fair.

In quali, George setting pole under single yellow only is not “good” luck. He just didn’t get bad luck again. Otherwise his deserved pole lap would've been shafted by a double yellow.

In Race, Kimi narrowly missed VSC twice. This is not “bad” luck. He just didn’t get super lucky(again). He just didn’t win the lottery twice.

What in the double luck standards is this

Why no one talking about how great George’s lap was

Telemetry shows he lifted 96m early, lost about 1.5-2tenths in that corner alone. And still went fastest by over 2tenths during this ultra competitive session

Kimi was on track for p3, maybe p2. His lap was not so great

Instead people are talking about the flags instead of how great that lap was

George Haters plus his bad luck make me want to support him

I was never a George fan.

But the last few races, I’ve seen myself and some others around me starting to rally around him.

He’s not put a foot wrong this year yet, the amount of bad luck his way is incredible.

On top of that, so many people blindly hating on him makes me want to support him more.

On top of that, his team does not even treasure or sympathise with him( it makes sense from a business standpoint)

Just like how i ended up supporting Max in 21 when it was him against LH army with all the bad luck against him

George is the big underdog now. Could he do it? Sure. But the chances are slim. Kimi is a generational talent but given they have the same car, and internally it makes far more sense for Kimi to win and develop further in his direction

it feels like supporting the guy who suffered through hard times against a chosen one with a golden spoon and luck of the gods

Has there been a season where a driver has been shafted more than Russell? (5/6 races)

By both team and pure bad luck in 85% of races when he started with a competitive car

Lewis can win this right now if Ferrari isn't stupid

Hamilton quickly pits into pit stop gap and emerge ahead of hadjar, quickly clsing the antonelli undercut gap.

then antonelli can only emerge behind 2 ferraris.

Ferrari 1-3

DONE

Edit: this was typed when the gap was about 3s and there was just a pitstop gap to Hadjar

How did Toto Wolff get rich

His backstory says he started investment companies during the internet boom. And became multimillionaire before 30

But there’s no story with details and it sounds hella sus

The guy also has so much aura and confidence i feel he could get away with anything

Anyone knows the tea?
