Deus Ex GOTY (2000) on Steam Deck. Best control setups and gameplay tips?

I'm playing Deus Ex (2000) on the Steam Deck. Since it lacks native controller support, I’d like to know how others have dialed in their setup.

Transitioning from Legacy Java: What are the best tech stacks and skills to focus on today?

Hello po

I have been working on legacy Java projects for years and am now planning to explore new opportunities.

What is the latest Java tech stack I should learn or focus on?

Is it Spring Boot, AI integration, or something else? I would appreciate any recommendations or insights.

Thank you!

[Sengoku Jidai] How would a conflict play out between Uesugi Kenshin and Kuroda Kanbei? (Field Tactics vs. Grand Strategy)

I've been reading up on Sengoku-era military commanders and was curious about a hypothetical match-up or tactical breakdown between Uesugi Kenshin and Kuroda Kanbei

If these two had faced off, either in a direct pitched battle or over a broader regional campaign. How would their styles conflict?

Playing Chosokabe in Shogun 2. What’s the ideal army comp, and how do you handle running out of arrows?

Hey everyone,

Running a Chosokabe campaign and had a few strategy questions regarding missile-heavy armies and battle flow:

Once your archers run completely out of arrows, is the standard play just to advance your Yari Ashigaru line in Yari Wall to clean up what's left? Do you send Bow or Daikyu Samurai into melee on the flanks, or keep them back?

In field battles, is it ever worth retreating to reset ammo, or should you always commit to melee once out of arrows?

What are your go-to 20-unit stacks for the mid-game and late-game with Daikyu Samurai?

Thanks for any advice!

Playing as Date, stuck in a defensive loop and running out of money. Need tips!

Hi guys,

I just wanted to start a discussion and ask for some advice. Here is my current situation:

I'm playing as the Date clan, currently holding and protecting my 3 cities.

The problem is, I can't leave my territory because I'm stuck constantly defending. Three different clans have declared war on me, and I keep running out of money just trying to keep my forces alive.

I have two main questions:

  1. What do you usually do at the very start of the campaign? How do you decide when it's the right time to actually start conquering?

2. How many units do you ideally leave behind to defend a city? I was thinking of keeping a full or at least half-stack army in each town, but I can't afford that right now due to my financial issues.

Any tips or strategies would be highly appreciated!

Looking for a good Mob/Gangster/police strategy management

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for game recommendations where the main loop focuses on managing a criminal enterprise or syndicate.

The only solid example I can think of right now that captures the exact vibe I'm looking for is Omerta: City of Gangsters.

Specifically, I am looking for games that have:

A Strategic/Management Layer: Managing businesses, illegal rackets, supply lines, hiring a crew, and expanding turf on a map.

Theme: Preferably organized crime, mafia, noir, or street gangs (though I am open to sci-fi or fantasy equivalents if the management/tactical loop is identical!).

I'm mostly looking for titles to play on PC. Any hidden gems or staple franchises I should check out?

Thanks in advance!

Does wasteland 3 is great on steam deck?

Does Wasteland 3 run great on the Steam Deck?

I am currently eyeing Wasteland 3 while it's on sale, but I noticed it isn't explicitly tagged as "Verified" on the store page. For anyone who has actually played through it on the Deck, how is the actual performance?

Specifically, I'm curious about the text readability on the smaller screen since it’s a heavy tactical CRPG, and whether the controller schemes feel native or require a lot of custom remapping. Does it drain the battery super fast, or can you get a stable 40–50 FPS without turning the graphics into total potato settings? Would love to know if it's worth picking up strictly for handheld play or if I should pass on it. Thanks!

Why do Pit Fights / Infiltrations sometimes have extra enemies? Is it random?

Hey guys, I need some help understanding how the infiltration missions work.

When I command my recruited Orcs to infiltrate a Warchief by doing a 1v1 fight, sometimes the enemy Orc brings support or extra grunts into the arena.

Technically, it stops being a 1v1 at that point. Is this completely random, or is there a specific reason why some targets get backup during pit fights? Thanks!

Is there a way to ensure my orcs has its own support too?

New player here! Level 10 in the 2nd region—should I start grinding or just push the story?

Hello everyone! I'm playing Shadow of War for the first time and I'm absolutely loving it, but I could use some advice regarding the pacing.

I just reached the second region (Núrnen) and I'm currently Level 10. I've noticed that trying to grind out levels right now feels incredibly slow and difficult. I read some older posts saying that you shouldn't focus on leveling up during the early game.

Should I stop trying to grind this early and just proceed with the main story missions? Or is there something specific I should be focusing on right now to get stronger?

Thanks in advance for the tips!

Hi everyone,

I’m currently preparing for the AWS Certified Developer – Associate (DVA-C02) exam. I’ve been going through the standard reading materials and study guides, but I want to shift my focus to more hands-on practice since I know the exam is very scenario-based.

However, I’m hesitant to link my personal credit card to a new AWS account just yet to avoid any unexpected "sticker shock" or billing issues while I'm still learning.

I have a few questions:

  1. Are there any platforms or sandbox environments where I can practice AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, etc.) without needing a credit card for sign-up?

  2. For those who used LocalStack, how effective is it for studying specific exam topics like IAM policies or complex CI/CD deployments?

  3. Aside from the official documentation, are there specific "hands-on" resources you would recommend that don't require an active AWS Free Tier account?

Thanks in advance for any tips or guidance!
