Chanel Thrift Haul!

Please tell me they’re real! Especially the Ciel De Nuit! I can’t find any shots of the box online but the bottle looks pretty good compared to other ones. £5 each, bargain!

Rude customer comes in 5 times in 6 days

Bit of a rant incoming

Recently started a new job, which was an entire new store opening with brand new staff (me included). It’s my first manager role and so far almost everything has gone really smoothly.

But there’s this one customer who comes in CONSTANTLY. Out of 6 shifts (I’m full time) I’ve seen this customer 5 times, sometimes twice in the same day. We don’t sell food or any kind of product that would require frequent visits, most customers we would expect to see once a month or 2.

And this customer is RUDE. We’ve only been open about a week and the entire staff is aware of this customer and we all groan when we see them. Trashing products, being demanding and downright rude when they don’t get their way. I’m the most senior person in the store at the moment which means they’re always my problem.

Tonight they were attempting to enter the store after closing, and had a hissy fit when we refused them entry. I just know they’ll be back my next shift to moan about it.

Some good news though, this is the first job I’ve ever had where I’m encouraged to refuse service if needed. I spoke to my manager after the most recent incident, and she told me next time she causes a problem I can actually put my foot down, and she’ll back me up! Never been able to do that before!

Advice for staying strong while working in beauty?

I work in beauty as the title says, and have been project panning for about 3 months, with pretty good progress! However, my job involves me being around new and shiny makeup, perfume and skincare all day every day.

Usually I’m pretty good at holding off. The shininess wears off quickly when you have to see it every day. My main issue is with sales and things. If there’s something I’ve been eyeing up and holding off on, all it takes is 20% off for me to fold. In my head I’m thinking “wow, 20% plus employee discount, it’s a bargain!” And next thing I know I’ve bought another 5 products home.

I’ll be changing jobs soon, but staying in beauty, so I wanted to ask if you’ve got any tips for staying strong. I love makeup and skincare, and I’m good at what I do, but I have SO MUCH and I need to resist!

Leeloo from Fifth Element 🧡

Something futuristic, cold and otherworldly. Down for unisex and feminine scents, the weirder the better. Ideally available in the UK 🧡

Possibly the best thrift find ever!

£20 for a 75ml Eau De Gaga! Smells absolutely amazing, really zesty lime opening, then settled into an almost herbal/citrus scent. Very unisex, very unique, very happy!

Recent Thrift Finds - L’Oréal Jet Set

Very excited about finding these! The burgundy is a little dry and gloopy but the silver is in almost perfect condition!

June Empties, feeling good!

Second month into my project pan! Not pictured the multiple mini perfumes I finished this month (I only keep empties that can be recycled in my local beauty store)

Vintage Sugar Scrub!

As both a Lushie and a discontinued makeup collector, I was super excited to find this at the thrift shop today! It’s not a product I recognise so any info is appreciated. This is probably something that no one but me would get excited over, but maybe it’ll bring you some nostalgia ❤️

May pans!

First month of being locked in on Project Pan, feeling good! No pictured are multiple travel size perfumes as they don’t get recycled at my local beauty store, so they get thrown out straight away.

Help IDing this thrifted OPI!

Thrifted this mini OPI, but because the minis don’t have the shade names I’m stumped! In the bottle it’s iridescent pink with a green/black base, on the nails it’s a beautiful pink/green shimmer. Help please!

[TOMT][movie][00s-10s?] K/C/Jdrama about a deadly game ran by a blond man

Hi there, I’ve been searching all over for this but I haven’t managed to turn up a name. All I can recall is the show’s plot involved some kind of deadly tv gameshow ran by a man with midlength blonde hair, who seemed to be the villain. The scene I saw showed 3 people having to answer questions, and if they got one wrong, the blonde man would make a snarky quip and a swinging axe would lower over the contestants. It was some kind of c/j/kdrama, but unfortunately I can’t remember which language they spoke.

I’m sorry for how unhelpful my description is, but I saw this through one of those Subway Surfer gameplay Tiktok accounts with a minute or two of the movie playing above. I remember people in the comments talking about the movie, which if i remember rightly was half in whichever language the show was in, then a : and the other half in english. If anyone has any idea what this could be, please let me know! Thanks!

Million Dollar Body Spray

Oh my gosh! I made a post a few months ago about 25:43, but this might be my new favourite! To me it smells like Sleepy and 25:43 had a baby, and it’s absolutely PERFECT for summer. Already had so many compliments and I’ve only worn it a few times

Advice for using up a serum that breaks me out?

Picked up the Glow Recipe Niacinamide Dew Drops a few months ago and just got round to using them, and my skin seems to hate it. I’ve got combo acne prone skin that usually loves niacinamide, but I think the fragrance is making me break out. Would hate to throw it out as it’s still almost full. Was thinking of using it as a body serum, but I’m also acne prone on my shoulders, chest and back. Anyone have any advice/ideas?
