I have no idea where to begin buying a glove.

I’m an out of shape dad of 3 sons who may play baseball one day. My oldest son is 5. He was gifted a youth glove for Christmas. We’re going to a minor league game this month and I’d like to have a glove to play catch in case the game piques his interest. I never played in a league, just had a glove growing up for playing in the neighborhood. Today, I’d have no idea what size glove to buy or how to determine that. (Middle finger to wrist - 7.25”. Width of palm is 3.25”)I’ve looked at this subreddit and determined the H-web, maybe 12” or more would be a good universal glove, but that is still a guess. I’m not rich, but I’d be willing to pay my way out of entry level synthetic leather. I’d love for the glove to last the next 15 years.

Of all the acting in season 1, I think about Charlie Lange the most.

If you grew up in the American South, were incarcerated for any amount of time, worked on a construction site with guys that have done time, or gotten into drugs, you've probably met a guy like Charlie Lange. Brad Carter really captured the essence of his character. Everyone's great in season 1, but Brad Carter as Charlie Lange was phenomenal.

I took the test alone and got 6w5. I took it again with my wife’s input and got 4v5. I’m not sure what to make of that.

Some of the questions, I would give myself a 4 (frequently) and she would say “That’s a 5. That really applies to you.” We had some good laughs about the test, debating to what degree some of the questions applied to me. Also, if you wing 5 twice, might I be a 5?

Has anyone taken a kid with them to USDGC? How did they handle the all-day walking?

I've gone the past couple of years. I mentioned the tournament to my 5 year old and he wanted to go. I think he may be able to handle it, but I also think it might end with me carrying him part of the day. I wanted to see if anyone had any experience with bringing a young kid to USDGC.

Why ask me more questions when I just said “I don’t answer questions.”

Cop: “Oh, so you’re not going to answer my questions?” Me thinking: “Does he not know that he just asked me another question? Why is he pretending to not know that that is another question?”

NMD. FMD (First Mandolin Day) as well. Thank you to the contributors of r/mandolin.

Eastman MD404-BK.

This subreddit has been very helpful in helping me narrow down the right choice. Hopefully this will last me for many years.

Eastman mandolins: Do higher numbers (by the hundreds) mean better quality?

Is a MD404 better than a MD305?

I would guess that MD300s<400s<500s<600s<700s<800s.

I'm concerned that I will always think the fretboard is a little too small. r/mandolin : is this what everyone thinks when they are starting out?

I'm convinced that I want to learn the mandolin. I just went to the local music store and put one in my hands. Maybe this is the feeling every new player gets, but the space between the frets feels very small, especially as you play higher notes.

Would anyone here recommend the octave mandolin for the larger fretboard? It may also be easier to learn on.

Are there any slow mandolin tunes?

Of the classic tunes that every mandolin player should know, most of those tunes are bluegrass, and played incredibly fast. Two questions: First, what percentage of mandolin music is bluegrass? And second, what are some classic mandolin tunes that are a little slower?

Are there slow banjo tunes?

Foggy Mountain Breakdown is great, but I don’t love incredibly fast music all the time. And maybe this means I need to find another instrument. Are there slow banjo songs?

Is this a mandolin in this scene?

Watching the movie Kingdom of Heaven, I heard this instrument. Not sure if it is a mandolin or something else very similar.

I am buying a used Brompton that I haven’t seen before in person. Under what circumstances or condition should I walk from the deal?

I know certain parts of the bike are small but essential to a fully functioning Brompton. What are they? What makes you say “If the Brompton doesn’t have ______ then walk.”?

Can anyone tell me what model this is?

Seller told me it was a 3 speed. The A line is the only current model with 3 speeds, but the A line doesn't come in this color, so I'm guessing it's an old C line? If anyone knows, I'd appreciate any insight. Also, can anyone tell the stem size? Seller didn't know that either. This is the only photo I have.

What are some fair questions to ask Roman Catholics to foster discussion? What doctrines are seemingly indefensible from a Reformed perspective?

I’ve never been Roman Catholic, but I don’t want to insult them with insulting statements in the form of a question, like “Why do you commit idolatry and worship Mary?” I’d like to bring our side fairly, and ask them good fair questions as well.
