I see a lot of new UGC creators asking "what should I charge?" and getting either silence or wildly conflicting numbers. So I figured I'd break down my own pricing logic maybe as a starting point for thinking about your own (if anyone's even interested).

The mistake I made for the first 6 months

I priced per video. One flat number, no matter what the brand wanted. A $150 UGC video for a simple testimonial and a $150 UGC video that required 4 outfit changes, a script rewrite, and usage rights for paid ads were priced the same (i know, geeeeenius!)

That's the #1 thing I'd tell a new creator to avoid. Price the deliverable, not a video.

How I actually break it down now

I price in layers, and I tell clients this openly:

1. Base content fee: this covers filming + editing 1 raw video, no extras.

2. Usage rights: organic-only (brand can post on their own socials) is priced lower than paid usage rights (brand can run it as an ad). This is the one new creators skip most often, and it's leaving real money on the table.

3. Revisions: 1 round included, additional rounds billed separately.

4. Rush fees: anything under a 5-day turnaround gets a 20-30% surcharge.

5. Multi-video discounts: if a brand books 3+ videos, I discount per-video but never discount usage rights. +++for building relationships with paying clients. It's what's generating most of my Side Hustle income rn.

A rough example of how this looks in a quote:

1x UGC video (15-30 sec)

- Base content fee: $200

- Organic usage (3 months): +$75

- Paid ad usage (90 days): +$150

- Standard turnaround (7 days): included

------------------------------------

Total: $425 (organic) or $500 (with paid usage)

Numbers obviously vary by niche, experience level, and market. this is just to show the structure of how I price my products.

Curious what everyone else does: do you price flat-rate per video, or do you break out usage rights and revisions separately like this? And if you bundle usage rights into your base price instead of itemizing, has that worked well for you, or has it caused issues down the line?

So I've had dermatographia symptoms for years.

I first had it 10 years ago, when I had trouble sleeping bc I was itching all over. I woke up with swollen af hives. It only lasted for a week.

Then on a random summer about 7 years ago, my skin began itching whenever and wherever pressure was applied to it (whether from sitting down, wearing a backpack, etc). That lasted for a year.

A month ago, I felt mild af itchiness on some parts of my body. I suspected dermatographia but it was mild af. But it gradually worsened and 2 days ago, I began having hives. I've been taking loratadine once a day to little to no avail. This skin disorder having no cure is messed up. It's beginning to interrupt with daily life. Will visit a phyisican in a week if the issue keeps cropping up.

I never had the willingness to visit a doctor about it. I just used usual dose antihistamines and they did work until this month. Loratadine 10mg once a day no longer worked for me. So I visited a doctor and told them all about this. She insisted it could be fungi and asked me to try oatmeal soap and calamine lotion, airing out my bed, looking for molds in the house. The location of my three flareouts are 3 separate cities. First two are during summer and the most recent one is during the rainy season. I insisted it couldn't be fungi bc flare ups are usually during stressful seasons of my life. But to no avail. Have y'all found that these two remedies do work? Any advice on how I should proceed? I have a follow-up checkup in 7 days but I don't wanna go bc the doctor didn't hear me out at all.

As someone who's connected more than 5-6 MCP servers to Claude, I've notived thst the it gets worse at picking the right tool whenever I add more servers.

Have y'all found that a router/gateway MCP server that sits in front of your real servers helps. Instead of exposing 40 tools directly, it exposes one or two ("find_tool", "execute_tool") and does the lookup + dispatch internally. Claude gets a small, stable interface and the gateway handles fanning out to Postgres, GitHub, Slack, whatever you've actually got wired up.

Some drawbacks I've seen are losing some transparency, messier auth, and a bit of latency stacking. These don't come up for occasional use but the issues come up when u chain ≤10 calls in a workflow.

Curious if anyone's tried the opposite approach (dynamically registering/unregistering servers mid-conversation based on detected intent). Seems like it'd solve the context bloat without the dispatch latency, but I haven't seen a clean implementation of it yet.
