Strange…. In this crazy heat…. My base app says that it hasn’t used any battery for at least a week. Anyone else seeing the same thing? I know the grid has said it has enough reserves but in the afternoon there must be a pricing differential that would make sending the power to the grid.
Can Meta glasses read text on the computer screen for blind people? I assume only they would hear it? I’m wondering because my mom is having to read so much for my dad…currently a 47 page document on the computer for him. She’s getting tired…she’s 83. I would love it to read a menu to him too so he doesn’t have to ask for help. Or read an email he has typed bc he is inaccurate in his typing before he lost his vision.

We have two networks at home. One we set up a while ago that we left up so we didn’t have to reprogram all TVs etc that were on it… and another that is the one I prefer. The newer one has more pods throughout our house for better coverage so it reaches our backyard and my bedroom better etc. Our backyard Sonos system is on the newer network and so I can’t control anything in the house or outside for music unless I’m on the newer one. It is also the one our printer is on. Every time I come home though my phone chooses the older network I don’t want to be on.
Is there anyway to make my phone choose the newer one unless I go in a choose the old one?
Anyone know if someone from Denton County can do a program like this? Do they exclude students from programs if you aren’t in the right county? Denton doesn’t offer the program as far as I can see. Thanks!
I have never heard of a way to lock down a phone for elderly people who just end up changing settings and creating issues but I figured I would ask just in case anyway.
My parents are getting older and my dad has terrible vision and somehow they keep having issues because they click around and do things they don’t mean to do…then I’m trying to figure out what they did…long distance without being able to see their phone.
I can’t imagine there is any way to really avoid this. They are not going to be willing to give up their iPhones for more primitive devices.
I have been doing wegovy for a bunch of months and I went to inject my shot yesterday and I felt the needle etc..normal
pain but then when I pulled the pen off my skin …it all dribbled down my leg. I was bleeding a bit and it seemed like for a moment there was a small bump under my skin. I wonder what went wrong. Thinking of doing another shot after maybe 4 days? I was already late on this one as I was traveling and didn’t want to bring a pen with me.
This morning my bro got a critical SOS emergency text from my dad’s phone. It showed his home location. The message said it was a different person…someone my dad and we don’t know. It said this other person has my dad listed as an emergency contact. No one would list my dad as an emergency contact. He’s a perfectly nice person but he’s in his 80s and can hardly see. He can use his iPhone…but just barely.
My bro and I are both far from where he is today…and happen to be at the same lake house on a family trip. My mom just had surgery this morning…and we were panicked it was some bad news about her surgery but it wasn’t. And my dad was fine and hadn’t fallen or anything when we talked to him. Where did this weird message come from that said there is a critical emergency at his house with someone who none of us know as having the emergency!
I see that there was more electricity used after the house test today when they installed the battery. The app says that sometimes the battery is used for the house even with no outage. Just curious what sort of situations causes the battery to jump in. Also, how can you tell how charged your battery is? We have the 40 kWh single battery. Does the app show how much the battery is being used for the grid? Thank you!
My mom is about to have one side of her hip replaced. She is 83. She has been walking terribly due to the pain it before this she was quite active. She is going to an excellent well regarded doctor at a top university hospital. They are telling her they don’t plan on PT after the surgery. I’m a bit worried about this. She is a bit of a mess right now and I don’t want her to keep walking so unnaturally. I am also worried she won’t get back to where she was before her hip became so bad. Is this typical that they won’t be planning for PT?
Is it best to wait until the new iPhone comes out to switch…. or could we switch now? At least two of the seven phone lines plan to upgrade. They would want the 18 pro max. I know they said with ultimate plus we would get a 17 now but we don’t need that. I assume though that that offer won’t apply if we have already switched and need a phone.
The benefit of switching now is we will all be local together…soon and that isn’t always the case. I want to be with my elderly parents when they switch as they get overwhelmed easily with tech issues. I will be traveling to see them soon. I manage the account for them.
We have 7 phone lines, 3 watch lines, 2 iPad lines. Would Simplicity be an option? Would we need to divide up to two accounts? I can’t find how much the watch lines and tablet lines are.
Also, for international travel…. We can just add travel passes for those months?
What are the downsides I should be aware of? We would be coming from T mobile. We do need some new phones… maybe 3-4 lines need new phones but we are happy to do those via Apple.
Just bought a new washing machine. A few times since I got it (only 2 days ago)…there has been a light spray of water around the edge of the machine on the floor on the three sides I can see. That doesn’t seem normal. It’s not bouncing around or anything while spinning. It is a 5.5 cu ft top load. The most recent load where it happened was only about half full. I have it scheduled to be returned….but just wanted to see if this seems normal at all?
Is there any actually decent washing machines left? I have had front loads and top loads. Currently I have an LG and this current one and the one before it have been pretty crappy. The one before this one was finally replaced under warranty. This new one was bought new at we moved. It a top load with impeller. Both have been totally unreliable. About 4 repair calls for each. This one is leaking somewhere again. I am leery of agitators because they are harder on clothes. I want a large capacity machine. Reviews seem all over the place! It seems reliable and cleans well don’t mix.
The 5 gb of free high speed data….does that restart at the end of the calendar month??? So June 1 or is it 30 days from when you arrive in the first international country for that trip? Trying to decide if I buy everyone on my trip data and how much. Thanks!! We have been in various international countries for about 10 days but only have 2 days left.
What is the best way to get an accurate monthly quote just for our service plan? We have a lot of lines… and getting an accurate quote when we moved from ATT to T Mobile was a nightmare. We have loved T mobile but the service seems off lately.
We have 7 phone lines, two iPads with data, and 4 Apple Watches with data. We moved to t mobile and have a few lines for free etc which made it nice but it isn’t feeling worth it lately. If we want international data etc…do we have to keep those plans year round or can we switch for a time when a trip is coming? For example, my elderly parents might make one international trip a year now…versus they used to maybe 4 times a year. Do they have to keep the plan always or can they adjust?

We are new hosts. We had our third guests the other day who got make up all over linens and towels. We have the black wash clothes for make up but I guess they couldn’t find where they all are. Some were set out and the others were in the first drawer. Obviously we will make a change to how the towels are available.
We require either a deposit or the insurances policy. This group took the insurance. Can we make a claim for this? Does this affect the guests? I left a good review already as my kid stopped by to look for obvious damage but didn’t open all the beds and check pillow cases and didn’t open the towels. My cleaning crew found the issues the next day. Thank you!
