No monthly fees?

I’m looking to set up two cameras in my home a couple of times a year (when I’m alone in the house) to monitor door entries on the first floor (so I can see from my bed on the second floor)… I would want to be able to watch from my iPhone…. And occasionally will watch when I’m out of the house to make sure my puppy is ok.

I’ve been looking at cheap (less than $50) cams on Amazon. Is there one you would recommend that doesn’t require a monthly fee? I don’t need it to record, but would love to be notified if there’s motion. Or maybe it would record only if it senses motion?

Feel free to warn me against brands that you don’t recommend as well. Thank you so much.

Choosing timer sound

When setting up a shortcut that sets a timer (when I tap an NFC tag) is there a way I can select the tune it (the timer) plays? I can’t seem to figure it out. For context, I’m using an iphone15 with iOS 27.0

Is there a way to block AI

I used to love Etsy and bought many gifts from that site. I’m noticing more and more AliExpress junk being sold and AI images being used. Is there a way to block this stuff. I’ve become so frustrated that I stopped buying completely. Yes, I use the filters for “handmade” and my own country (or even other random countries that I’ve purchased from before), but it’s not helping. The last thing I bought said it was from Canada (where I live) but actually shipped from the US.

Are the true artisans moving to a better site that I’m unaware of? I miss the old Etsy.

Getting new strings?

When you drop off your ukulele at the store to get it restrung, what is a reasonable amount of time to wait? I’m guessing it’ll take them 2-3 days, so I’m wondering if I should have a back-up instrument in case it takes longer? Am I looking for an excuse to buy something fun? Yes, yes I am. 😂

Any string suggestions for a concert uke? Currently have Aquila strings, so I’ve never known anything different.

Stairs vs ramps

Can you guys show me pics or post links of stairs/ramps that worked well for your tiny dog? My last chi struggled with our little steps (to go up to the couch). They were similar to this pic (but 3 steps instead of four). My next chi will be even smaller (approx 3lbs) so I’m thinking maybe a ramp? Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

Wendy’s potato bun

I received a coupon for a baconator that is made with a “potato bun”… I’ve spent time researching but can’t find specifics on this bun and am wondering if the bun itself is gluten free (I know the prep area is not… I just want to know if there’s any gluten in the bun itself). Does anyone know?

Ghost town?

If this has already been discussed, I apologize (I’m new here)…
I’m watching season 4 and wondering how/why the port/dock area is completely void of people… it’s like a ghost town. How is this possible? Cute little colourful storefronts and cafes with not a soul in sight!

Strap recommendations?

I’ve been playing without a strap for some time now, but I think it’s time. Does anyone have suggestions for a comfortable strap? I see a lot of straps that are 2” wide, but I assume they are intended for larger guitars. Also, I want one that will tie to the headstock (and use a button at the other end). I’m very sensitive to pain and discomfort, so if it’s soft material, or padded, that would be a bonus (I can add my own padding if needed).

ETA: Thanks for everyone’s suggestions! I ended up ordering this one.

Toronto & Kingston

I hope to be visiting Toronto and Kingston (Ontario, Canada) in the next few months. Does anyone know of a store that offers a large selection of ukuleles (concert and/or tenor)? I have searched online, but it’s difficult to really see what the selection is like in store. I’d like to see options that are less than $500, so nothing crazy.

I have been to a store called Long & McQuade… the selection online is great, but in-store was pretty limited, so am looking for other places. I want to avoid buying online if possible.
