Which laptop should I choose?

My use cases are photo and video editing (but nothing too intensive), really ocassional CAD (like couple to maybe several times a year) and the normal stuff. So far I've found:

  1. Lenovo ThinkPad P14s G6 with Ryzen AI 7 PRO350, Radeon 860M, 32gb RAM and 100% sRGB screen for ~ 1600 euro

  2. Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 " Ryzen AI 9 365 Radeon 880M 32GB 2.9K OLED 100% DCI-P3 but not entirely new (ex-display) ~1400 euro

  3. Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 " Ultra 9 285H with integrated GPU 32GB 2.9K OLED 100% DCI-P3 ~ 1600 euro

  4. Lenovo ThinkPad P14s G6 with Ryzen AI 7 PRO350, Radeon 860M, 32gb RAM and 2,8K (2880×1800) OLED 100% DCI-P3 ~ 1700 euro

Where I live its impossible to get the t14 gen 7 under 2000 euro, which is my max budget and I've been having a really big problem to choose which laptop to get. Maybe you have a better recomendation?

The Fisherman series by Panorammma, ca. 2023

"Fisherman Chair reveals itself as foreign, almost alien-like. The piece seems to have been recovered from the bottom of the ocean on a lost planet. [...] Fisherman Chair is part of a limited series of unique objects that integrate the use of upcycled electroplating rods."

Help me choose a laptop among the ones I found.

  • Total budget: 1500-2000 euro
  • Are you open to refurbs/used? Yes if in good condition
  • How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life? Portable, rather good battery life, rather good performance
  • How important is weight and thinness to you? Ideally thin
  • Do you have a preferred screen size? ~What will you use it for? 15"; Regular use (media, browsing), video and photo editing, sometimes CAD
  • Requirements (if possibile): Low weight, good screen for photo and video editing, a thunderbolt port would be nice
  • Operating system: Good linux compatibility

I'm torn between these models:

P14s Gen 6 - great price, fairly good performance, no separate gpu)

t14 gen 7 (same as p14)

ThinkPad P1 Gen 6 (can find it 2nd hand for a good price, not sure of level of compatibility and the performance/portability ratio)

ThinkPad P1 Gen 7 ThinkPad (basically perfect, but a little on the expensive side)

P16v Gen 2 (not sure of level of compatibility and the performance/portability ratio)

Dell Precision 5680/5690 (not sure of build quality and also level of compatibility )

What do you think I should search for? Maybe take a different model into consideration? Thank you in advance.

In need of laptop suggestion.

My current laptop is close to dying so I've been looking for a new one with a good linux compatibility.

My main use cases are CAD and architectural design, video and photo editing and activities like browsing the web, etc. The heavy work will be done while plugged in so battery life during working on battery power should be fine in most laptops.

The main requirements are:

  1. Good screen for easy video and photo editing (~15" best)
  2. Long battery life
  3. Portability (I will carry it around a bit)
  4. Some power for editing and 3D design and CAD
  5. (preferably) At least one thunderbolt port

My budget is 1500-2000€ but I could spend a little more but the less the better.

So far I've found Tuxedo laptops and Lenovo X1 carbon. I'd love some maybe better recommendations from someone experienced. Thanks in advance!

Looking for a laptop for university and photo/video editing.

I'm looking for a laptop with good Linux integration for daily use.
Main criteria:

  • Good battery life (at least 8 hours of actual work)
  • (Rather) portable
  • The programs I'll use for university are centered around building architecture or product design (don't know which ones exactly)
  • A good ~15 inch display and at least decent hardware for photo and video editing
  • Other programs I plan on using are CAD and sometimes Blender

My budget is 2200 euro max, preferably a little less. I'm aware a MacBook Pro would be the best for me but I'm trying to avoid it (at least for now).

When exactly was this pot made? Carl Tielsch, found in Poland

The mark was used between 1875 - 1909 (I think, it's really blurry and there's a similar mark used between 1875 - 1935). Is anyone able to give a narrower time frame when the pot was made? Also, what's its value considering the condition?

Rug cleaning services in Warsaw.

Can anyone recommend a good rug cleaning service? I need to have an older, at least 50 year old rug cleaned and don't want it damaged. It would be nice if the cleaner's provided pick-up service too.

Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US:

1000-2000$ USA

Are you open to refurbs/used?

Absolutely, even preffered, but of course I'm also open to new ones

How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?

Looking for something built to last with good battery life. I intend to use it with Linux but can also dual-boot. I need it to be quite portable.

How important is weight and thinness to you?

I want to be able to carry it for a couple hours without much hassle. I prefer it to be rather thin.

Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.

N/A

Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.

Not sure for now, besides Blender.

If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?

Maybe occasionally Minecraft. Medium to high settings.

Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?

One or two thunderbolt ports or a good selection of ports.

Budget: 1000-2000$

Country: USA

Use case: video editing, photo editing, occasional gaming (like Minecraft), CAD, (possibly) Blender

Preferred specs (optional): Thunderbolt port or two, good port selection (if no thunderbolt). Specs good enough so the work goes fast.

Notes: I want it quite portable, can be a refurbished machine

Thunderbolt ports would be perfect. A good selection of ports would be useful, but it isnt necesarry as long as the thunderbolt port or two are there. Like i mentioned before, I want reliable build quality.
