"this part of our site isn't working right now" when trying to balance transfer?

I tried it yesterday on the app, this stopped me. Closed the app, signed back in, tried again, didn't work.

I tried it again today, didn't work. Tried on PC, didn't work.

This message always shows up when choosing the deposit destination account and transfer amount. I'm not looking to transfer between cards, and am trying to get it to deposit to checking.

2018 Corolla LE digital speedometer recommendations?

A little disappointed that this corolla's digital display will show avg speed, mpg, visual cruise control/lane assist, an eco meter thing that fills when you accelerate fast (not completely sure what it is yet), time elapsed, but NOT speed.

I'm gotten used to digital speedometers, so the analog feels a tad bit more slower to read/process in my brain.

I was thinking it might be as easy as guys programming calculators to play video games, but it most likely isn't. So, I was wondering if you guys have recommendations?

Do obdii speedometers lag or drain the battery or anything negative like that? Are iphone apps reliable/lag free, and if so which ones? A HUD? Something else?

Can i reuse 0% balance transfers after paying off the balance?

My plan

  1. Balance transfer to checking w/Citi
    Checking: 2000, Citi balance: 2000

  2. Pay NFCU 10,000 auto loan
    Checking: 0, auto balance: 8000

  3. Balance transfer Citi to NFCU platinum
Citi balance: 0, NFCU plat balance: 2000

  4. Repeat so that eventually
Auto balance: 0, NFCU plat balance: 8000, Citi balance: 2000

-Citi and NFCU plat are both 0 fee, 0% apr for 12mo, but Citi has $2000CL, NFCU plat is $8000CL
-pretty sure NFCU doesn't allow direct balance transfers b/w NFCU products, which is the reason i'm doing this
-i'm fine with the higher monthly pmt

Can I do this? Or is Citi's balance transfer offer like a one time consumable where once i use up the $2000, I can't do it again unless Citi happens to offer it again?

What auto insurance coverage does NFCU require?

I'm about to finance a used car with NFCU. First time car buyer, and a bit confused on what quote I should be asking for. I hear "full coverage" can mean slightly different things. Is there specific coverage that NFCU requires?

Dealers try to tire you out during the negotiation process.

"Manager" in the back office is chilling, locked into his negotiation strategies, while the actual face to face negotiation is done by other people. A shopping experience is then drawn out to an exhausting social interaction ranging from small talk, friendliness, miscommunication (both on purpose and unintentional), legal/financial/policy stuff (which can be all of accurate, inaccurate, real, bs).

You have to dodge and redirect the convo and narrative, reasoning, etc. again and again. Every time you seem to make a bit of progress, the face to face person has to "talk to the manager."

Goes into their office and huddles with Coach Manager/Gatekeeper to get their next gate.

They're professionals that do this for a living. As a first time buyer I am both impressed and put off by their sales tactics.

Are cars that were rebuilt a few years ago a good deal?

Just learned that rebuilt doesn't always mean mechanical damage. I was wondering for example a 2018 corolla is rebuilt, then driven another a few years, 10-20k miles+, is that an indicator that it's still very reliable? Assuming otherwise good maintenance history, the cause of the rebuilt wasn't mechanical/flood related, and a PPI before purchase. And minimum insured.

Resale would be significantly lower, but it's already discounted when buying, so would it still actually depreciate faster than clean titles?

Would an older car be better or worse than a newer rebuilt car?

Has anyone balance transferred an auto loan to their NFCU credit card?

Question in title.

Some banks only allow credit card to credit card. Others will do other loans, or even deposit to checking account. If I get a low intro apr balance transfer card (eg platinum or cash rewards), would i be able to balance transfer an auto loan on to it?

Customer support says they'll mail a check, so I'm assuming it works, but I'm wondering if anyone can confirm.

What indoor/smart trainer for zone 2?

I'm mostly a runner, just looking to get some extra low impact volume. So thinking, low to moderate intensities, high volume, maybe something that can track things like cadence, or connect to those cool looking laptop games.

i'm wondering if people know of any good trainers for someone not trying to break the bank?

Maybe someone can learn from my balance transfer mistake

TLDR: While some balance transfers allow the flexibility of just depositing money into your checking to pay any debt, others are more restrictive such as only allowing balance transfers from credit cards from another institution. It's important the service you're looking for actually meets your needs.

TL:
I plan on buying a used car in the near future. My game plan was to get a good 0% intro apr balance transfer card, and essentially "pay off" the auto loan immediately and put it on the card, erasing any interest rate I would've had.

This way, I would have more wiggle room cashflow wise, and my first paid off installment loan which will hopefully help me in future home/auto loans.

Found one with 0% apr, 0 fees on purchases and balance transfers, but not cash advances for 12months, applied and was approved for 10k. I go to the app, and look for the balance transfer option, only to find a form asking for information for another credit card I want to transfer a balance from. Asked customer rep and they confirmed my fears, they only balance transfer from external credit cards...

I thought balance transfers were simply transferring one loan balance to another. Did not think there would be such limitations. Will have to reevaluate my options again.

Anyone with similar stats approved for intro apr offers? I'm only prequalified for the secured card

My FICO 8 scores are around 770-790
I haven't applied for credit in over 18mo
Never late or any delinquencies
I only have checking, savings, and direct deposit with NFCU, no auto loans, etc
Income $45k, no rent or mortgage
6 credit cards total, this would be my first with NFCU
Single digit utilization right now

I'm wondering if there are people who have similar stats and were approved for their platinum or unsecured cash rewards with the intro apr offer and a decent credit limit?

NFCU only prequalified me for secured. Apply anyways?

NFCU only prequalifies me for their secured CC. I have fico 8 of 770-790, with TU being the highest. Have direct deposit with their checking and saving for past almost year. But no other banking/credit products w/them. Havent applied for credit at all in the past 18mo or so, and i have 6 cards

I see people get approved for cards without much of a "relationship," but i still hesitate if i should apply bc i'm not prequalified for the card i want: platinum or cash rewards

Looking for WECU lux credit card tips

WECU has a lux credit card with 12mo 0% intro apr, 0 balance transfer fee. I'm hoping to put some of my car loan on it.

I have around a 770, both checking and savings, and live in WA. But when I tried to prequalify, it just goes on to having me submit an actual hard pull application. When I try to prequalify on other cards, they tell me I have that application in progress and to continue where i left off.

I'm wondering if yall can share any data points?

The application asks me for desired credit limit. Can I shoot high for this and have them set their limit? Or do they straight up deny for too high of an ask?

Car search fatigue and overthinking

First car at 26. I've been browsing car listings for months now and tbh it's getting annoying and draining. Don't have a big budget, so starting from scratch, it's been a learning curve, coming up with heuristics, realizing they're off, changing my mind, etc.

The calculus im using to filter listings rn is
(200kmi-current mi)/$price. For corollas, camrys, prius, civics, i've been looking at 10y+ old cars can go up to around 8-10mi/$, with a few outliers up to 15mi/$ (though their condition isn't all green flags). What i'm kind of surprised about are new 25-26 models having similar mi/$, and often better than 20-24 late new models. Especially like the corolla le for example new might be 8mi/$, while the late news are less than 7mi/$.

Vehicle sales tax comes up to about 10% in my area but that's still about 7.3mi/$ vs 6.xmi/$.

Though 8mi/$ on a older car w/significantly cheaper price might have lower insurance too compared to 8mi/$ on a new one.

Also am eyeing the ford fusion hybrid since apparently they basically licensed toyota hybrid tech but come with a discount for the subtoyota level reliability on other aspects.
