MY CAT HASNT POOPED SINCE TUESDAY. ???

Reign my 4M / neutered Cat hasn’t pooped since Tuesday.
Saturday night I came home and he was throwing up, he threw up all the food he ate, and he started to just throw up saliva. He wouldn’t eat anything he wouldn’t drink water. So I brought him into the vet on Sunday morning. Bloodwork came back fine. X-rays came back he was constipated with a little bit of dry stool in the colon And dehydrated. They sent me home with an anti-nausea and anti-acid for him.

The vet told me he should be eating boiled rice and chicken. Obviously he ate around the rice and only ate the chicken so I just started giving him chicken and chicken broth. He had been eating that fine, but still no bowel movement by Monday so the vet said let’s start him on lactulose. He’s taking it every 8 to 12 hours and he pooped late Tuesday night.
He started to immediately feel better and come back a bit to himself. Running around the house, playing snuggling, begging for food, etc.. Wednesday was normal. He just played and he ate his appetite. 100% came back. I’m pretty sure. Thursday he had a recheck appointment at about an hour before his recheck appointment he refused the boiled chicken and broth. I started to get really scared cause I thought he was losing his appetite, but he was actually hungry and he just didn’t like the flavour anymore so I had to mix it with something flavorful. I recheck appointment. The vet was able to palpate his abdomen and notify us that he didn’t feel any constipation. He doesn’t feel anything wrong with the colon he’s not as dehydrated as before, but still mildly dehydrated.
He said continue with the lactulose and start to feed him more.

So I did exactly that and it’s now Saturday Reign is very happy about it. He is eating so much just like his normal self he’s eating boiled rice, chicken bone broth, and a little bit of pumpkin with a bit of mousse topper.
Everything is 100% ingredients and good for digestive systems here.
BUT STILL NO POOP??
To be fair, he only started eating normally on Thursday.

Financial situation: I F 25 can afford vet care, but it is stressful/expensive so I’m trying to understand what is normal before escalating further. I’m actively working with Vet right now.

TLDR
My cat has not had a bowel movement since Tuesday night (several days). He is otherwise eating normally again (small frequent meals), drinking fluids mixed into food, peeing normally, and acting mostly like himself (alert, playful at times, grooming, seeking attention).

[24F] with my boyfriend [25M] of almost 2 years. Why did my feelings suddenly become so much stronger?

I’ve been with my boyfriend for almost two years. Throughout our relationship, I’ve always been a pretty independent person emotionally. I’ve never been someone who misses people a lot, feels the need to talk all the time, cries when they leave, or naturally seeks out a lot of physical comfort. That’s just how I’ve always been, not only in this relationship but in general.

About a week or two ago, though, something changed, and I don’t really understand it.
Now I find myself wanting to talk to him much more often. When I’m sad, all I want is a hug from him or to be around him. Seeing him makes me genuinely happy, and when it’s time for him to leave, I get really sad. I’ve even cried a few times after we’ve said goodbye, which has never happened before.

Nothing major has changed in our relationship. We didn’t have a big conversation, a fight, or some life event that would explain this shift. It just feels like my emotions toward him suddenly became much stronger almost overnight.

He’s actually really happy about it because, in the past, he’s wanted me to be a little more affectionate and expressive. Friends I’ve talked to have told me this is just what a healthy relationship looks like and that I’m finally acting “normal.” Before this, people often told me I should show him more affection.
The thing is, even if this is normal, it feels very strange to me because I’ve never experienced anything like this before. I’m not worried that something is wrong with the relationship—I just don’t understand why my emotional reactions changed so suddenly after almost two years.

Has anyone else experienced something like this? Is it common for feelings to become stronger after being together for a long time? What could cause such a sudden change?

**TL;DR:** I’ve been with my boyfriend for almost two years, and in the last week or two my feelings have suddenly become much stronger. I miss him more, want to talk to him more, feel happier when I see him, and get genuinely sad when he leaves, even crying a few times. Nothing significant changed, so I’m wondering if this is normal and why it happened so suddenly

X-ray showed stool, started lactulose—still waiting for first bowel movement

My cat was seen by a vet after a few days of GI issues including vomiting, nausea, reduced appetite, and dehydration concerns. X-rays showed stool in the colon, but no obstruction. Bloodwork and exam were otherwise okay.
He was started on Lactulose (2 mL every 8–12 hours for 5 days) along with supportive care: small frequent meals (chicken), chicken broth for hydration, and pumpkin.

He started lax yesterday at around 7:44 pm.
Small feeding + broth throughout the day
One minor gag episode (saliva + small chicken piece) shortly after eating fast after meds, no repeated vomiting
Appetite has been strong since then
It’s now been ~24+ hours and he still hasn’t passed stool.

However, he is:
eating normally and enthusiastically
drinking broth and staying hydrated
urinating normal amounts
grooming again after previously stopping when sicker
playful, interactive, climbing, and seeking attention
generally acting like himself again
No obvious abdominal pain or lethargy.
Has anyone experienced a delay like this before first bowel movement on lactulose? How long did it take in your case, and what helped?

X-ray showed stool, started lactulose—still waiting for first bowel movement

My cat was diagnosed with constipation after X-rays showed stool in his colon. Bloodwork was normal, and the vet sent him home on lactulose (2 mL every 8–12 hours), pumpkin, lots of fluids, and small frequent meals.
It’s now been about a day since starting treatment, and he still hasn’t pooped. However, he’s eating really well, drinking chicken broth, peeing normal amounts, grooming himself again, climbing to his favorite window, playing, wanting attention, and acting much more like himself. He isn’t showing signs of abdominal pain, and he’s not vomiting repeatedly (just one small gag with saliva after eating quickly).
Has anyone else’s cat taken this long to have their first bowel movement after starting lactulose? How long did it take, and what ended up happening?

Has anyone gone through this?? Recovering well except still not pooping after vomiting/dehydration.

I’m looking for experiences from anyone whose cat had a similar recovery. I’m working closely with my veterinarian and following their instructions, but I’m an anxious cat mom and would appreciate hearing from people who’ve been through this.
Timeline:
Saturday afternoon my 11 lb cat (Reign) suddenly started vomiting multiple times and became lethargic and hid away.
We were concerned he may have been exposed to lilies because we found some yellow pollen on one of his paws, although we’re no longer sure that was the cause. Another possibility is that he ingested some of his clumping litter.
Sunday he spent most of the day at the vet.
What the vet did:
Physical exam
Bloodwork (CBC and chemistry)
Sedation for X-rays
X-rays
Fluids because he was dehydrated
Anti-nausea medication and stomach medication
Results:
Kidney values (creatinine, BUN, phosphorus) were normal.
CBC was reassuring.
Mildly elevated ALT and amylase, but my vet was not overly concerned.
X-rays did not show an intestinal blockage or foreign body.
They did show stool already sitting near the end of his colon, and the vet said it looked a little hard.
Since coming home:
He has not vomited again.
His appetite came back and he actively looks for food.
He’s eating small meals of boiled chicken (he picks around the rice).
He isn’t drinking much plain water, but he will take chicken broth and I’m adding extra liquid to his food.
He’s affectionate, cuddly, watches birds through the window, even watches movement on the TV, and has had some playful moments.
He’s definitely quieter than his normal self and sleeps more, but he still gets up to eat, comes for cuddles, explores the house a bit, and seems interested in his surroundings.
He has urinated several times, although the amounts have been smaller than normal.
The only thing that hasn’t happened is a bowel movement.
The vet originally had me continue feeding small frequent meals. Today they had me start:
Cerenia
Omeprazole
Pumpkin (½ teaspoon every 4–6 hours)
An oral laxative (started around 7:45 PM)
Continue feeding small frequent meals with lots of added liquid/broth.
The vet told me the laxative may take about 8–12 hours to work.
I’m mainly wondering:
Has anyone else’s cat taken this long to poop after vomiting, dehydration, sedation, and eating very little for a day?
How long did it take after starting a laxative?
Did the first bowel movement end up being small or hard?
I’m not looking for a diagnosis or to replace my veterinarian. I’m following their plan and will take him back if he worsens. I’m just hoping to hear from anyone whose cat had a similar recovery because the waiting has been really stressful.

Saw a terrible text from my bfs mom about me

Holy shit.
I was sending some photos to my boyfriend and I searched my name. Just my name in my boyfriends phone, then I see a huge message in his chats from his mom about me.
They are a more privileged family than the one I come from and I have always felt insecure about that.

I mean really fucked messages. Talking about my skin color, my tattoos, my family history, the fact that I’m not studying yet, my LITERAL HEALTH ISSUES ???
She told him that she believes our relationship is a bad decision and that he is settling for less than the future she wants for him.

She said that a future with me would lead to hardship, poverty, stress, and a lower quality of life, describing me as a sick woman and suggesting that any children they had would struggle and have limited prospects. She said that he is choosing “downward” instead of taking advantage of opportunities to improve his life, and compared the relationship to a pattern of poor decisions.

Saying he’s happy to struggle with me & I deserve basic human respect and that the family treats me politely, talks to her, brings her gifts, and allows her in the home, she made it clear that she would not go beyond that. In her view, the relationship could be acceptable as a casual girlfriend situation, but not as something serious or as a long term future partner for him.

I do not know what to do, he’s very apologetic and was very defensive in the messages with her which I suppose I can appreciate but I wish he told me they were prejudiced against me.

I guess he let her know I saw the messages & I’m considering my options now wether I want to stay in this relationship or not.

I really don’t know what to do.
