I know that 4 Marsupial shoulder strap pouches is excessive but it's surprisingly useful and that's how I have my GR1 34L Huckberry SCARS monstrosity set up

I'm boiling down to one Goruck bag. And so I basically took the other shoulder pouches off the other exiting rucks and tried it out and I like it—and they're all coyote brown so they all match. They're all useful for stuffing things like Kleenex and lip balm and sunglasses. I thought I would just share my use case with you in case you are interested. I don't think they make the mesh one anymore.

This Seattle club encourages runners to slow down | The Seattle Times

> Unlike run clubs that have an “all paces welcome” rule, the Plod Squad doesn’t follow any set pacing. Instead, it encourages social interaction and hosts a mix of walk-runners and walkers, with members moving at an average pace of 12 to 13 minutes per mile, Esser said.

> For its meetups — which are currently held at least once per week, on Tuesdays, with some weekend runs — Esser selects routes that are easy to navigate and under 3.2 miles long. Most runs have been held in Green Lake Park, but the group has also assembled in Roosevelt and Ballard, in partnership with local businesses Community Fitness and Praxis Yoga & Cafe, respectively.

> “I don’t want people to have to be worrying about, ‘Do I turn right or left?’ or ‘Where did everybody go?’” said Esser, who often dons a bright pink hat and accompanies attendees at the back of the pack. “I just want it to feel as inclusive as possible.”

My Satchel & Page Expat Wallet leather notebook cover

My best friend bought this wallet/passport/journal/notebook leather cover for my birthday years ago. It's been all those things but now is the most buy-it-for-life EDC Moleskine Cahier notebook. I hacked an aluminum BIC Cristal pen with a hacksaw and superglue to make it fit. 1.6mm bold blue. On the front cover of the notebook are all the recent codes for my homebase Starbucks bathroom. It's out of stock now but if you can get your hands on one, it's something you'll own for life and it's something that'll just get better with time. Worth the $85 to me. But once, cry once. I don't baby it.

Side padded handles (and maybe) bottom padded handles on this M81 GR1 21L? What say you? Would it be gilding the lily? Thanks in advance.

I have a SCARS addiction. This is a mostly unmolested GR1 21L 1000D M81 Woodland Camouflage bag that's seen SCARS before but here's my question to the community:

Should I send it out to get padded handles on the sides? On the sides and bottom? Should I get grommets just for the second kind of cool or should I just leave it unmolested as a very nice EDC bag?

I tend to overdo things into ruin. WWrGD?

To those curious as to the SCARS mods to this awesome M81 1000D GR1 21L I grabbed on eBay—that were already made before I bought it: pocket key loop, double internal loop patches, and a cinch strap with clip. I think that's it. Pretty great though. Have a great weekend!

Korea's running craze has a new pace: Slowing down

This might not be a perfect match for the sub but it's always interesting to see people slow down so I thought I'd share this anyway.

I know this is a weird grail bag but this one is mine.

Was a rando eBay listing. Not a deal but not crazy "collectable" dollars. And, randomly, some signs of SCARS mods: key loop in the front zipper pocket and a couple internal loop patches. And an internal cross strap with a cinch clip. I just received it. More photos to follow if you're interested in it. I'm Gen X so M81 Woodland was my childhood. GR1 21L. Very happy to have it. What's your grail bag?

I just started watching Harry Wild. Love it! While I indeed have extreme amounts of mother trauma, even I fancy that her son, Charlie, is a complete arse to her. Yikes! Just saying! Can't wait to see the rest.

Is there a pathway to convert my heritage Seiko Diver 6309-7040 Turtle into a quartz watch? From auto to Seiko VH31? is this a thing people do, can do, have done?

u/chrisabraham — 1 month ago

This is my miltado ML08 in the Sinn homage stainless bracelet with a sweeping VH31 quartz movement. No date. Does it look cheap or nice? I prefer quartz and no date but I was looking for something like a sports watch. A beater that has a little bit of class. And 100m.

I'm not trying to pass or anything. I like the way Sinns look but I also admire the Tudor Ranger, the Rolex Explorer, and the Sinn 556 as well. I think I have around a 7 and 1/2 in wrist. I'm wondering if this looks like it fits. It doesn't need to draw attention. But it also shouldn't look ugly. I got it for around $84 from AliExpress. I know you could get it cheaper. But the bracelets really nice. I feel like people prefer the Murph version of this watch which I think is attractive too. Maybe it's even better. I don't know, What do you think? It feels solid and strong and well put together and it has 100m rating and a sapphire crystal. And it emulates a sweeping hand. Anyway, anybody else running this watch? What do people say about it if they notice it at all?

The only squander I made before the original July 1 date was this single +5 OEM G19 20rnd magazine from GS.

I feel like I got off easy.

USANA Malaysia Hosts Record-Breaking “Slow Jogging” Event

This is that slow jogging technique that is in place and on a little acupressure pad which I find interesting. You don't even need forward momentum.
